The one person who's insulted me the most and given me grief all these years is my mother. I've just found out I have ADHD, at 36 years. I feel devastated. I've grown up hating myself and believing I was as lazy and hopeless as my mother claimed.

I was diagnosed at 7 with adhd put in meds for short time made me a “zombie” went to counseling hangul of times not a lot of memory about it all stopped going there before age 10 and nothing about adhd ever came about, even moved in with dad at age 13. I was always the troubled child and the bad influence but now i’m 27 with all these “mental issues” i feel and completely forgot i was diagnosed with it and i may still have it. Mom doesn’t want to talk about the past or give attention to the present. Our mothers must have some of there own issues they do not want to bring up.. maybe they feel guilty for it.. i love my mother but damn i’ve had it rough in my mind out here for 27 year and I get my new diagnosis results on the 8th of july. I’m so ready to take control!! 💜

Oh my goodness. I was diagnosed this week at 36. My mother has been my biggest critic. I won’t bother telling her of my diagnosis. She won’t understand. She will say the doctor is wrong and I don’t have adhd

Someone told me once "there is no such thing as laziness." I really believe it. Those people are actually talking about not having the right motivation. Lazy isnt a personality trait. Human beings are exquisitively evolved animals. Our brains try to preserve safety & habits. We get to choose to also protect our happiness and health. And gosh, neurodivergent & adhd brains are just so, so cool. Let your natural skills become your superpower & dont be afraid to follow the dopamine!! (:

I’m so overwhelmed by this. I’ve just found out I have adhd. I thought I was just lazy stupid and no matter how much I try I can’t change it. I can’t concentrate or focus on anything I have no interest in and I get bored easily, I’ve been this way for as long as I can remember. I’ve been taking medication for anxiety and depression and come to find out it was actually adhd all along

I have severe ADHD and even medicated I could be driving and forget where I’m going momentarily. I can relate because I diagnosed later in life and I too wondered why mind races all the time. I feel like I have a little dyslexia as well. Sometimes when I write or type my brain has a pause and I get ahead my self and will type the same sentence twice or I’ll forget a word entirely but in my head I know I see it. Medication and coping skills have been a Godsend. I hope that you get the guidance you seek.

I am 57 and after years of treatment for depression I stopped my mediation. I am at total breaking point. I’m a lecturer and have forgotten I have classes, I’ve taught the wrong modules, I lose everything, can’t concentrate when someone is explaining something to me (no matter how hard I try), I’m chaotic, messy and drowning in clutter. I take copious notes and then make notes on my notes etc. I have taken two weeks out of work and after family said they thought I may have ADHD, I researched it. The signs and symptoms describe me exactly. I have asked my doctor if I can be tested. The ball is now rolling. After years of feeling like sn imposter and desperate over career progression (fear I will fail because I can’t remember things and get confused easily), I feel there could be light at the end of the tunnel.

A friend of mine at work told me to get tested for ADHD. I have all the symptoms too. I get distracted easily and my mind wanders off all the time. It seems like I'm not interested but I cannot help it. I am always losing things and forgetting. It's a real struggle and when my mind goes blank and someone shouts at me I lose my temper. I still have to get tested by my doctor.

I’m glad your doctor is helping. I’ve been told I have ADHD by others with ADHD so I wanted to get tested for it. When telling my doctor, he said “everyone thinks they have ADHD” and literally said he can’t help with that. I hate doctors, honestly, they never help me. I’m in Australia so idk what it’s like where you are but the medical system is screwed here

@@oklol1755 I’m in England, I don’t know much about the health care system in Australia. Change doctors if it’s possible, because that’s disgusting. I had to pluck up the courage to go and see my GP because I felt like this is what they think. Im 22 and have been diagnosed with ADHD predominantly inattentive type recently. Since years (especially in high school and college) I've been having trouble in focusing on academics, planning, organization, emotional management, time management and hyperfocusing. I had a low self-esteem as a result of it and considered my self worthless. Because of such videos, I've started taking treatment and have known myself better and it's helping me alot in day-to-day activities.

I can't focus. I can't even focus on simpler things, I can't do chores, or when i do them it's always late, I can't even watch TV without being clueless in about 5 minutes and When someone is trying to explain something I still can't focus, even this video, i keep playing it back to understand it better. I've just spoken tom
My therapist and she said it sounds like I might have this.
I' get super excited about doing everything. I never want to just be labeled as one thing .
But then I put so much on my plate I can't finish things ,it's heartbreaking I feel like a disappointment constantly. I find something I want to do and I do it usually really well with intention and focus and hours , of time, but then I move on to something else after a while. Always having big ideas , and trouble sleeping . I just thought I'm a big dreamer , I want so much put of life I'm missing so much to get things done. I'm super clean and tidy and get anxious when things are cluttered but projects and to do lists scare me , even though I'm more than capable, I putt off things to last minute. I always thought I liked living on the edge. How can I be 37 and only now be finding this out. Life is so confusing. I have no idea what one thing I want to do or be. But in someway this makes so much sense. Anyone relate?

I'm always planning things and making goals but then never do them and I start to feel horrible because I dont do the plans I want to do but ita like i simoly dont want to? Its weird. I think that the idea of doing the things I want to do sinply bores me. For example: ive been wanting to study accounting for college next year but whenever I try I can o ly last just about 5 to 10 minutes before losing interest or I just never start. I think about starting a business, drawing again, olahing music again, but then I get distracted by my phone or computer and just forget or get uninterested. It's like constantly being intersted and not interested of things over and over. Its exhausting tbh. Sigh. I dont know

I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD two weeks ago, i thought it was a sprinkling of adhd because ive always had a personal beef with that particular neruodiversity, always felt like it was the unwanted housemate of neuro divergence not sure why but ueah anyway, every sympton u reeled off had me thinking by the end of it, shit … maybe i ONLY have ADHD because a lot of those i thought were just parts of autism but now i know theyre not i’m questioning, great video though all the same i like your examples

Hello ma”am, I am an African student living in northern Cyprus. I was diagnosed six months ago and have been taking concerta, but the health ministry here stopped giving this medication last month and since then I’ve been on my own. Can you help me with a prescription to get it in turkey?

this is a very good question. There may be non-routine tasks involving movement and socialization. but to decide whether a job is boring or not you must know your own values. Maybe we'll talk about it in a video.

I have to CONSTANTLY check 'Wheres my wallet, where's my bag, where's my keys, where's the this that and the other '
Like, every half hour. ESPECIALLY when I move into unfamiliar locations.
      Then it's every five minutes.
My GF has it too, but won't admit it. Leaves stuff, looses stuff all the time.
