I just replaced my panel and door seal. Easy Peasey, thanks to you! BTW - if your control panel goes out, you probably should also replace the oven door seal. A heat leak can lead to overheating the control panel. Thanks!
Would a bad control panel cause the oven to stop heating? Maybe the cancel button is triggering? (I don't get a beep when it just stops / oven turns itself off.) The time display stays on, so my first thought is something is wrong with the control board. Edit: hindsight - the seal on the door wore out, let heat escape which then damaged the control panel over time. A new door seal and eventually a new control panel for $300+ finally fixed it. Cheaper than a new oven though.
Not sure I basically shot gunned the fix. Would say if timer and general functions work control B should be ok. When it stops does control panel stop working? Also note sometimes the heat from the oven affects to control board since its right above the door. Make sure the seal around the door is good. IE check and see if bottom of control panel is hot. I am not a oven technician but check the thermostat since that is what turns heating element off. Perhaps test some different temperatures.
I think they have not changed much on this oven in past xx years. Kitchen aid and JennAir (GE..same company) are only ones making down draft ovens. I found the label for mine behind cover at the bottom on right side leg. Mine is a JES9800CAS01 BTW there should be a schematic of controls attached to back of bottom panel as well.

Jennaire told me that circuit board is NO LONGER manufactured. The board mounts to that panel he removed. I have found a local electronics shop that reports they do repair this Board. I am planning to remove it and drive it to their shop some 35 miles away.
I would have really liked to see how you removed the control panel. I have that exact one, I think, and I've removed all the screws I can but it doesn't want to lift off or twist upward and off. My range top is siliconed down to the counter top, so if the top is supposed to lift up, I'll need to remove the Silicone. Any advice before I get too far along and break something would be very much appreciated. Edit: I found your other video. Thank you very much! We had a handful of buttons not working. Replaced the panel and door seal, very straightforward. Everything works like new again! Thank you.

thanks, any chance it was the ribbon and is repairable?
unless its loose and can be glued its not worth it as you consider the heat and age just replace it and forget it.

I could do that but its one of those things you take a pic of before you start then make sure all the wires go back where they were.

How did you get the front panel off ????
Pull out the stove about 6 inches and there are screws on both sides.. I guess they wanted to hide them. Hope that helps..

Our down draft oven is getting up to 600 when its set to200 ,can that be fixed ?

There are two screws, one on each side.
I'm about to replace mine. Same unit. These ranges are complete garbage.
I don't know mine is 10 years old and all I have done is replaced this front panel and glass top. Other than that its been fine
