Please pardon me but i love this dedicated plant guy its so interesting listening to you explaining all the differences of these plants iam 81+ and have loved gardening all my life iam now living with my daughter in bali and her balinese husband and family ( iam dutch Australian) and my 3 grandchildren are all around your age and my oldest granddaughter absolutely loves all those kinds of plants your showing here i wish i could’v got to jakarta with my family but its not possible at the moment thats why i appreciate your video and explanation so much thankyou so much my dear anyway peace and love ❤️💟☮️🍀🌏🇮🇩🌈🌈🙏🙏to everyone allways
Thank you so much for writing in. It warms my heart to hear about your family. I hope you all find bountiful peace and happiness in the Island of Gods.
You will hear it first from Sean here, "The OG leaves is so boring that it would put you to sleep." 55:13 Hahaha This is what I'm talking about when you step out from Aroids, the world opens to others' wonder. So stunning this episode especially those mutated sansevieria from Phillipine and thanks for bringing back the Hoya excitement which I had killed almost all of them.
This was a wonderful plant tour with so many varieties of hybrids I’ve never seen before. Your photography also makes it easier to take screen shots for reference. Btw.. hope that you added the Hoya “Silver Leopard Skin” to your collection🌿
I really enjoyed watching this episode, thanks Sean for bringing us to this wonderful exhibition! I hope i could visit this (physically) in the near future!
It doesn’t seem like Platycerium are popping off here in the US, but they sure are for me! Love the fern on fern action! Haha! Beautifully edited again Sean. Wonderful video.
I’d love to level up my elkhorn Fern game!! A beginners vid would be most helpful!!! Travelling to Hawaii every year is what inspired me to get into tropical plants, I wanted to bring the tropics home with me
Hey Leah thats ok, thanks for letting me know. And Im so sorry to hear about your husband. I hope theres a way for him to get his sight back. That is truly tragic and painful. Sending love to both of you.
I really really like your plant channel. 💚 i always learn something l. I appreciated a good detailed educational channel. Plus you film very well and edit nicely. You have a good Idea of marketing and branding your channel. 👍🏼
Love the these videos. I learn so much but i do have plant envy. Those sanseverias were amazing but surprisingly the hoyas were disappointing. Lots of great content and i just got lost in tiem watching this. Keep giving us these shows please.
The hoyas are actually the most Ive ever seem in an Indonesian or Thai show. The genus is very very unpopular in Asia, unlike on Europe and the US. I would consider this… a huge leap forward for the genus in Asia 😅
Your videos got me to purchase my first Platycerium last year, after a lot of miss identification, it ended up being a Hilli 🎉 Since then, my collection has grown to include 12 out of the 18 species 😁 still quite difficult to come by in NorthEast US. I’m hoping to start sowing spore to make them more accessible here Thanks Sean! I credit you to the start of my collecting, it turns out I have somewhat of a green thumb. Collecting turn into a passion project and I’m creating an online compendium for Platycerium, I’ll share with you once it’s wrapped up Cheers 👋
Of course! Prototype website is a month or two away, and I’d love your opinions on it! I’ve been trying to consume as much info as I can - your videos help tons. Esp the previous vids with the platy master 💪
The common varieties are actually very affordable… for these hybrids, they will rise in price for now but in a few years they will always stabilize and become common. We just have to wait. Im being patient too 😀
@@onlyplants I only have a few like nepenthes ventricosa and graciliflora and trying to expand my collection with utricularias, pinguiculas, venus flytraps, and sarracenia because they are the cheaper and the quicker ones to grow.🤞
I love ur channel and ur dedication about plants. tanq so much.its great to see the rare and exotic plants. paltyceriums ridleyi r not available in Indian market. plz suggest where can I buy at reasonable price.
You can reach out to the platycerium sellers (their instagram account is always listed on the bottom left corner of every booth). However keep in mind that India has a strict import rule. I believe an import permit is required to bring in plants into India. If the supply of ridleyi is low in India, it might be a good business opportunity…
I seldom see plant sellers selling Platycerium in my place (Philippines). If there are, only few are selling and in limited number only. It's also expensive.
One plant I have not seen in your latest videos on these exhibitions is the microsorum thailandicum "blue oil fern" I am obsessed with it...I actually bought spores online for around $35 US and recently sown them and waiting patiently for growth , I was hoping to see them as they should be more common there but I guess not much ppl into it yet or they don't know about it? Overall, I really enjoy your videos 😊
Oh they are hugeee in Thailand. I filmed it in last years plant show in Thailand 😀 as the name suggest the plant is endemic to Thailand. Sadly Indonesians did not catch on with the trend.
@@onlyplants Oh, go figures...it seems to be catching on in the Western hemisphere. I bought from a seller from Thailand. The live plants are expensive and hard to find in this part of the world.
licuala palm really do take a long time germinate. i remembered i sowed the seeds of the licuala grandis of my uncle then it took 1 year and half a month before i noticed it was growing 😂 😂
Sean…all I can say is WOWZERS! There must be a God somewhere! I didn’t not know that such unique plants exists! Thank you for sharing this wonderful “mini-movie” of plant glory with us!!😊❤️🪴
Thanks sean love love the contents especially the Hoyas and sanservias I want all the Hoyas and sanservias.❤ Do they ship to the caribbean Barbados to be exact
You would have to check with them, you can get free consultation with Exitplant which is the sponsor of the video (their info is at the end of the episode). Sellers and exporters can actually move plants out of Indonesia, but whether your country allows the receiving of plants is usually the tricky question - varying from region to region.
If you meant to do it secretly without a permit… I think it would be a bad idea 😅 You can reach out to @exitplant.id on instagram to see if they can do permit for you to handcarry plants back.
Thank you, Sean for your dedication and support to the plant community. I enjoy watching your contents as always.

18:10 the moment i saw the mature form of this one, instantly +1 to the buy list
Oh yes they get really tall in nature! And they set fruit around human waist level because their natural pollinators are cassuary birds!

This video makes me want to go to Bangkok, in the Philippines. 😊
Haha yes. Bangkok actually has a show like this every 2-3 months.

The sellers in Indonesia only sprouted out recently actually… last year there wasnt much platycerium booths in the same show

Thank you for the tour! I’m not sure how I feel about the hollowed stream table it looks too shallow to provide enough depth for the fishes.

How about gymnocalycium, francoisii and astrophytum?
Those are far more popular in Thailand than in Indonesia. 😀 I have featured some in my Thailand plant show tour videos
