I have to send this short video to my 13 year old grandson who was recently cut from a basketball team. Michael Jordan's story is so inspiring. DON'T GIVE UP MALACHI❗ 🏀😘
That’s very thoughtful of you. I was cut last year too when i was a freshman. I had no confidence and couldn’t make shots nor layups during tryouts. I highly encourage your grandson to keep working hard because hard work always pays off. Have a great day 🙏
@@ybebinchilin2421 Out of curiosity, how are you? Did you make the team or decided to pursue developing your natural gifts? Thank you so much for your response.😘👍

@@b9479 I doubt it was a rule. The school wouldn't sacrifice potentially winning state championships just because he was too young. Now obviously, it's because he wasn't good enough, but let's say instead of growing in sophomore year, he had that height and skill while bieng a freshman, he would've gotten on that team,
@@familybusiness1417 Imagine telling 16 year old Shaq (6'10 btw), you didn't want him on your team, and you told him you wanted someone else to play, because he had years of eligibility and the other person didn't. That would be crazy. Imagine if he just decided to quit next year, because they clearly didn't value him, because normally, teams don't care what age people are, they care if they good or not. Plus, it's a lot harder to nurture a player, if they are going against people that suck. There are people in China, who have enough talent to become an NBA superstar, but because they are in China, and the competition is significantly less, they are unable to reach their full potential, because they are unable to improve their game, because they don't have any players they can learn from, and will dominate the game, no matter what they do.
Lebron was the MVP the AAU his freshman year. He could dunk already . Sophomore year he was dunking on NBA players . Junior he already got the body 6foot 8 240 pounds.
I’m in 8th grade and I’m 5,10 I made the team this year for middle school but we went undefeated both years were 30-0 so. Next year as a freshman it’ll be hard to make the team
He made the commitment to get better and he did.. like in college and the NBA.. unlike others that need to go to other teams , win a championship, then take credit for it!!...lol. sound familiar?? 😅
I haven’t made the basketball team ever, that’s 3 years I haven’t made it, but my school coach was at one of my other basketball games and said I wasn’t that bad so I’m not giving up just yet
I can’t get out of my mind, when I see MJ interviewed by Letterman, his story about protest of his shoes. The NBA objected, MJ saying “..cos it didn’t have any white in it” … to which Dave retorted “neither does the NBA”. 😂
Jordan could not make his high school basketball team. While there seems to be credible data showing Wilt (aka George Marcus) played against NBA players when he was only 16 and 17 year old high schooler. He not only played with NBA players much older than him, but dominated them. The real GOD (forget goat) of basketball.
