      They ask for your high school diploma equivalency from your foreign country to Canada.
      Most of our countries have a dated system. It will require a trip back home, ($$$) then once back in canada, pay ($$) a recognized agency to then have your equivalency converted to canadian standards.
      so there are still roadblocks.
      You have people who have worked in canada as managers and have different valid certifications in different fields but don't have their high school transcripts. There's limited flexibility given to the recruiter.

    This is really interesting. You're the only person who said that they are skipping for regular force members not reserve forces. Personally I don't understand why they are doing it for some occupations and not others. If the Armed forces want more people to join, then they should not limit people with just degrees under their belt. I make more with my job then I get paid as a REG member. People come from various backgrounds and skills. Some people are faster some are slower than others. Good luck getting people to join. I won't be one them :)

    Recruiter professionalism matters and appearance matters. The CAF's greatest strength was the ability to inspire people to believe in a higher purpose: a sense of service before self. It retained people by forging a sense of belonging in this and the other core values. The professionalism of the CAF was reflected in its members. The CAF has now fallen prey to individual identify and sub-group agendas which do not align to support the core mission and values of the organization but rather an outside external influence. The groups take precedence over the sense of being a member of the RCAF, the Navy or some other service branch sub-group (Logistics, Health Service Corps) which previously created belonging and a sense of purpose. Accentuating individual identify and difference will erode the common bond and unity when the time comes and it is critical for CAF effectiveness.

    Could you make a video on becoming a Naval Warfare Officer in the reserve? I've heard that they have to pretty much go full time for around 3 years before becoming fully qualified. A video or comment would be helpful in letting me know more about reserve NWOs and their commitments as well as civilian/school life balance

    • @PrairieSailor
      @PrairieSailor  2 месяца назад

      In the Reserve NWOs have to do 12 months total full time training over the first 5 years of their career in order to be fully trained/qualified. So 2-4 months of full time training per year as a summer job for 4-5 years. It is also sometimes possible to go on Regular Force courses and get the training with back to back modules/courses rather than spacing them out.

      “the CF H Svcs strongly urges you to take every effort to obtain your civilian immunization records from your local public health department and/or your doctor, and present this record to CF H Svcs personnel for review upon request”. They don’t want to give you immunizations you already have again. I am not certain on the current policies, they are hard to look up because if I search anything about vaccines all that comes up is stuff on Covid. When I did BMQ I submitted my vaccine record for my doctor and they gave you any of the standard vaccines you were missing or out of day, like tetanus, measles, and all the standard Canadian vaccine schedule.

The military is becoming a mercenary organization filled with individuals not teams unified in sense of purpose, shared values, applied talents, demonstrated commitment to something more than their own advancement and their merit when called on to perform. So people leave and look for this elsewhere. DEI is a cancer that is eating the insides out of the military.

Had to have my doctor fill out a questionnaire asking if I've overcome and can cope with my anxiety, which is true. After the first rejection, I started working on myself. Went to therapy and group sessions, learned about anxiety, and how to cope with it. There have been moments when I have said I don't want to join anymore, but I keep coming back to it. How about bring back haircuts and proper deportmant
    . How about look at why people are leaving. Perhaps fighting for Canada with Trudeau in charge may be part of the issue

    The more you remove standards, the more you remove pride, and reasons to stay in. Believe me, I know.

    The CFAT isn't all that hard. Its the Maritime Officer Selection Test (MOST) that I struggled with. No prep or practice tests available for it. Has no real meaning to being an NWO as it mainly pertains to STD calculations that we don't really apply until NWO III.

      How is it like being a reserve NWO? I heard that they have to go full time for around 3 years to fully qualify before going back to part time. Is this true?

    Didn’t watch the video but skipping cfat is a catch I was told you can only get to combat rolls with just high school
    To get any more serious like positions you need to have at least a year done in college otherwise forget about bypassing cfat.
    Fail first time second time you have to prove with a literal log book of when you studied
    Fail second time you gotta go back to high school math in college
    Fail again then they will not ever take you gain no more chances

      Well you should watch the video. There are dozens of roles including technical trades that qualify for skipping the CFAT with the expedited application trial.

      @@PrairieSailor I was told you cannot skip the CFAT in technical rolls for example aviation tech unless you have at least one year completed in college or university. Additionally I was told only completing high school will allow you to skip the CFAT but for combat rolls only otherwise your outta luck unless you’ve got a year completed in university or college.
      I’ve got only one class i didn’t finish in college otherwise I passed everything and that wasn’t good enough nor my relevant work experience. I’ve decided not to continue my process and that I’d rather just wait till next year to re take that college course (I’m a welder)
      My skills and work experiences show my aptitude and I believe i should have been just let in but my case person said no your not good enough to re do the CFAT. I’m not interested in writing the CFAT again and I’ve just decided that I’ll pause on my process and that I’d rather just go back to college and finish the once class I didn’t get through:)
      I wanted and trained and prepared my self a lot a lot and put in a lot of time but I’ve adjusted to what’s met to be will be. I understand how some people say the aptitude test is so easy and so and so I believe it but not everyone is there on same level and that can be education system/person to blame. I’ve studied but to me that test is way over kill that’s my personal opinion. I believe that a person should be considered based on there experiences and if something the military trains you what’s needed and if you don’t make the cut then and your un able to learn then you get cut off. (I believe had of our recruitment system been like this that we’d get more recruits in)
      For me when I was told no you can’t skip the CFAT I was pretty caught back. I’ve literally done the job in civilian world and have other relevant experiences and delivered quality results but some how that doesn’t even mean anything and in eyes of government I’m quote on quote stupid just because of some paper test…
      There’s a saying don’t judge a book by its cover and another one is just because someone looks good on paper doesn’t make them the best candidate the one with the worst can be the best.
      We have normal dialogue no tension at all. I’ll end it off with I’m left disappointed and at the moment I continue to work in the trades. I plan to go to complete my college but will I or not enlist ever again will see.
      If you interested in my story or would like to know more or get a better understanding let me know I’d be up to talking or writing about it with you more, just let me know:)
      👋🏻:)

    I think this is a CAF disaster in the making. What on earth are they thinking of. Boosting recruitment at the expense of intelligence and Canadian citizenship is stupid.

    Why can’t we use calculator in the maths?

    • @kolbyjoudrey7145
      @kolbyjoudrey7145 2 месяца назад

      Because your tested on your ability to solve the problems on the test. So you have to be able to know how to solve each math question correctly. If you use a calculator.. the it’s not a effective way to evaluate your ability on how to problem solve
