    I have researched that they are extremely sensitive. I think the mixture of that and the young age is what causes most to die. I picked up one yesterday for fun though. Hes living with my 4 inch pink jack dempsey and so far so good.

    i bought 4 of these guys at inch and half they started dying 1 by 1 a month after purchasing did some research and found that others had same issue

      We've had them at the shop for quite some time now....I think it might be how they're transported 🤔

    Mine won't grow, it's been 1.5inch for a few months now. I keep my water at 7.0ph, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, >.5 nitrate, 82°f. He's not being picked on or anything either. He gets a mix of blood worms, brine shrimp and flakes 3 times a day (not all at once). Electric blue Jack Dempsey's are some of the most beautiful fish in the world but, they seem to be inbred to the point of barely making it. I would give this species another 20 years before it's viable.

      Man i have mine in a Tank with African Cichlids so im just going to enjoy him until he passes on because i have no room for him elsewhere t

    Absolutely misleading info, they are NOT known for their hardiness. They are exceptionally fragile cichlids
