      @@aphilli97 I think they explained this during that Atlas fight. Basically you "master" the ability that you want to put onto someone else's loadout. So I think it'll involve you leveling up the abilities using ability points, maxing it out, then having free reign to customize the loadouts.

    Great video, I would add that I personally recommend the control scheme C instead of A as C binds the magic on L1, allowing to easily charge a magic attack while attacking. I find it also easier to do the blast combos with square L1 instead of square triangle as you use a thumb and an index instead of doing everything with the thumb.
    I also highly recommend to put the lock on system in toggle mode and not in hold mode. You're locking onto enemies 90% of the time do better have it in toggle.

    • @shaquilleIV
      @shaquilleIV Год назад +9

      I was using C, but now that i’m getting better i went back to A, because switch to different eikon stances mid fight is more important than magic bursts

      I'm definitely doing both of these.

    • @uttrik
      @uttrik Год назад +2

      I agree with Shaq's reply. Control scheme A doesn't make a lot sense at the start of the game, but requires the least button inputs later on when you have multiple eikons and ability cooldowns. And with how much more damage abilities do than charged blade and magic, which basically isn't used in stagger windows, I much prefer the ability to quickly cycle and use cooldowns. Control scheme C seemed great at the start, until I realized you must stop pressing the ability use modifier key in order to cycle eikons. If anything, they should add a control scheme D where all it changes is swap lock-on and magic and that would be the best of both worlds.

    A few things I discovered while messing with the combat:
    1. You can buffer both Charged Sword and Charged Magic at the same time by holding square and triangle and letting either one go at a time.
    2. On top of that you can also use your eikonic feat while holding both charged sword and charged magic (i.e. using titan's block while buffering both charged sword and charged magic)
    3. Of the 3 eikonic feats, Titan's block is the only one you can use instantly after the final magic burst attack from your standard melee combo (It feels like this cancels the delay from the final magic burst attack and if done quickly enough you can immediately start attacking again quicker than you would normally....it feels that way or it might be my perception of timing is off, but I feel like it shaves off a fraction of a second from the normal delay. Not sure how important that small amount of time can be but figure I make note of it.
    Thanks for the great video!

    I would disagree with the lock on. When dealing with a large group of enemies I think not having lock on helps when managing them. If locked on you can’t quickly change to a different enemy Imo the R3 button change is too slow. When left unlocked you can juggle between different ones a lot quicker by pressing the direction you want to attack. I usually only lock on when facing a boss or large enemy alone.

    Not much to it. Get the timing down for magic burst and alternate your melee and magic button, do an applicable skill based on the situation to clear trash enemies. Then, get some evades and counters on the big thing, maybe hit it with some low cooldown abilities at the start to shave off some stagger bar, alternate your melee/magic spam combo. When you get close to stagger, hit it with something fast hitting to stagger and start some stagger damage, rotate through your fast hitting, high will damage abilities, then finish with your heavy hitters. You don't have to be perfect and being perfect is actually just more annoying. Just spam as the developers intended, skip all non-red quest cut scenes and the first part of every red cutscene and every red cutscene that is actually just a red-colored green cutscene.
    Once you reach the point where two become one, hit alt f4 and never look back. If you do look back, just suck it up and finish the game, but don't play new game plus because that shit should have already been in the initial playthrough and shame on those morons for splitting it up just to tack on a new game plus.

    I gotta say countering feels weird to me. It seems like your actual attack animation and your actual sword has to meet their attack just under halfway to hitting you so it has to be a preemptive action and not a reaction. That just feels weird to me idk if im missing something tho

    • @xDevilNeverCry
      @xDevilNeverCry  Год назад +1

      This is precisely it, you have to anticipate and be prepared as the timing is very tight. You can do it on reaction but doing so reliably is much harder

    • @askiia8713
      @askiia8713 Год назад +1

      Yeah basically. Instead of thinking it's a parry in usual video game terms think of it as a clash. Irl, if you wanna parry and deflect an attack, YOU have to swing your blade to hit the enemy's flat side and push their blade away from the cutting trajectory to effectively "parry" the attack. Unlike in games where you usually can "last frame" or "frame perfect" parry where you hit it at the very last second. These kinds of parries are like soft parries where you can "soft read" aka react to enemy attacks intuitively and parry. This game's "clash parry" where clive actually does an animation before the parry is more like a "hard read" parry since you have to hard read the enemy's telegraph because you can't parry at the last second, but a few frames before the first frame of the hitbox activating. It's a bit hard to get used to but you'll get used to it if you do enough.

    • @BenkaiDebussy
      @BenkaiDebussy Год назад

      @@askiia8713 One other thing I'm unclear about - can all attacks be parried (that reasonably seem like they should be anyways - I assume you can't parry things like energy blasts)? And if so, does this include things like Garuda's attacks where she sends for "projections" of her claws?
      It's kind of hard to intuitively grasp in situations that aren't just "swinging a weapon/limb towards Clive"

    Is magic burst worth using? The magic hits seem to do half the damage of melee hits, and it adds delay to melee hits vs just spamming melee. Maybe it does more stagger damage? And many people are focused on aerial combos, when only the easy enemies without stagger bars can be launched; maybe they'll be feasible for large enemies.
