  • In part 2 of my series on the lore of the Aeons, I go over all the lore that I could find on Qlipoth the Preservation, Yaoshi the Abundance, Lan the Hunt, and Long the Permanence. There was lot of interesting stuff that I was able to find on each of these Aeons from Honkai Star Rail. For Qlipoth, we connect the lore behind this Aeon to the Kabbalah and the idea of the Klippot and Sefirot. For Yaoshi, we go over the ideology behind the abundance and how that affects their actions. Then we talk about Lan explore their connections to the Abundance. Lastly, we talk about Long and explore my theory on the possible reincarnation of this Aeon.
I was honestly surprised about the amount of lore I was able to find on each of these Aeons and I hope you guys like this video!

To me Yaoshi is true-neutral - to speak in DnD terms of alignment. They seem to wish for all life to no suffer, regardless - equally. They don't pick and choose like "Your nose is too big, go away". Mayeb chaotic neutral because this stems from a personal desire to not suffer from loss of life again. They're not evil nor good in my opinion.

I agree it seems that, in terms of dnd alignment, Yaoshi falls somewhere within the spectrum of neutral.

I think when it comes to The Hunt path its philosophy is "too much of a good thing is/becomes a bad thing" and since immortality creates too much life the hunt eliminates them to keep things in check. since abundance is the complete opposite philosophy, the 2 clash on a daily basis. The reason life dies is to make sure there is enough resources to keep things going and if things arent dying those resources will eventually run out and all life will die. Thus the solution is to "hunt" whatever there is too much of to prevent the extinction of life. It is like when a area becomes too populated with a particular organism so people introduce something to kill it to lower the numbers to a safe degree sometimes requiring more to be added over time to also balance out the species introduced before hand from overpopulating from the thing they were sent to get rid of.

    • @BitSharkGames
      @BitSharkGames  Год назад +20

I agree it's about the balance between life and death. Having too much of a good thing can become a bad thing.
It's kind of like Yin and Yang where you need to have a balance of both energies.

well,I would think more interesting history is the "Imperial Bow" in history and the anon of hunt are not the same one, so the "imperial Bow "in history was someone lead the people who did not start the starship civilization to against the yaoshi, but after the political Political struggle , the group of imperial Bow (maybe stand for the political)was defeated by the noble in xianzhou, until another war between the yaoshi 's believer, after this war, the group of imperial Bow nearly dead, and the political group he represents was forgot.
and maybe until his death, the anon lan came and defate the anon yaoshi (maybe lan finish the war or something else, I can not remember carefully), and for the. political reason to make all the classic together, they built a image which intergrate imperial bowl and anon together which with the aim to lead the will of "xianzhou",and still forgot the "imperial bow" 's will to group people and against the anon

My thoughts on Permanence and Long I summed once in Reddit post which I would dare to repeat here.
As far as I can say, Path of Permanence is a fancy word for Taoism - the idea that world is, even if in constant motion, permanent, it can't be really changed by mortals, attempts to do so become exhaustion, and the most correct thing is to find a way to flow with the stream.
I mean, "Exodus of Five Dragons" is Taoism in a nutshell: "As the sun and moon rise and fall, the world undergoes continuos change. So, the concept of 'stability' is meaningless. Only by comprehending and aligning with the way of the world can one's path lead to everlasting existence." Compare: "Stand before it and there is no beginning. Follow it and there is no end. Stay with the ancient Tao, Move with the present." Heck, 不朽, which is translated as "Permanence" and is more like "immortality", "eternal existence" as far as I know, is the common epithet of Tao in taoism, 不朽道, "Immortal Tao".
So, in the end, Long, in my opinion, wouldn't reincarnate through vidyadhara; they already reincarnated AS them (and other four nations of Long's Scions), because it makes no sense to try to influence universe if you want to achieve permanency.

Hiya, semi-pro kabbalah scholar here (I took a few classes, lol). The qlippot is very difficult to grasp, so it was pretty impressive to see it succinctly explained. I hope you don't mind me getting into more detail though, since I think it's pretty neat. It is true that the qllippot were made to contain the sefirot, but there's more to it. In Lurianic kabbalah, the framework this idea of "shells" comes from, the qlippot is broken. The power of the sefirot was too powerful, and parts of the vessels shattered, letting some of the divine light spill out. This is why the world and its people are imperfect and why God asks for worship. It is said that every time one does a mitzvah (something G-d approves of, basically the opposite of a sin in Judaism), a single shard of light is returned to the sefirot. This is called tikkun olam, "repairing of the world". I'm not certain what this may mean in the context of HSR, or if it does at all, but it may be worth thinking about in regards to the IPC since it concerns the role of worshippers. It seems possible to me that the IPC is too worried about maintaining the status quo and not improving things-- they may have metaphorically bandaged the world's "wound", but isn't trying to stop the bleeding at its source, if that makes sense.
Also, you are correct! The amount of alternate spellings is, afaik, a combination of struggling to convey pronunciation and the fact that many different jewish communities wrote on kabbalah in different languages, and thus changed the spelling to match whatever they were writing in. A lot of aramaic and hebrew words have this problem actually, lol.
    Great vid, keep it up!!

Thank you for posting this! I found the topic of the Sefirot and Qlippot just so interesting. And to your point on the IPC, I think that also why might explain why Qlipoth doesn't recognize the IPC.

Interesting how lan and yaoshi's can go both way. Yaoshi can be seen as evil as the blessings they gave could turn into a curse and lan is seen as the good one because they saved the xianzhou and is eliminating the abominations. Yaoshi also can be seen as good as they wish to preserve life while lan also can be seen as evil as their reckless action and only focuses on their goal often could cause harm to the innocent people around. Both are the same in the sense of upholding their principle even if would cause harm.
Imo yaoshi isn't "evil" as they only want to preserve life but ofc, everything has it's consequences. Idk if they realize that but if they did, they might decide to ignore it as they might not care what form lifes take, whether normal or abominations.
Lan on the other hand is seen as savior but their action is seems to be fueled by hatred towards the abundance and the abomination thus they care very less about the effect on those around them. Which is why I kind of understand why dan shu despise them even tho they aren't necessarily "evil" either.
Tldr: Good actions could have negative consequences too. It's all depend on the story and background of those effected.

Yaoshi's goal feels somewhat similar with propagation's methods (?) Like Propagation (Tazzyronth) ultimately carrying out their will of boundlessness of life (?) Though Abundance chooses to do that in the context of Abundance (possessing something in surplus - more than enough quantities) while propagation increases or propagates the 'quantity' of life itself. Abundance and their immortality and how death is something that is furthest from their goal makes it so with the immortality that the 'quality' life is maintained? And even if being Mara-struck makes it so that all long-life species are to face their end at some point, Yaoshi would have still given them boundless life (beyond whatever their original age - specie limit - would've allow them to reach)

Im having a really difficult time understanding Lan’s path. What exactly is “The Hunt”? All of the other Aeons have more broad paths that revolve around the fate of the universe and a philosophy they hold, while Lan simply wants to kill Yaoshi. Their whole existence is dependent on another Aeon. In a hypothetical situation where Lan kills Yaoshi, would they disappear? Their whole reason for existing was just slayed. It seems like Lan can’t exist without Yaoshi (but Yaoshi definitely existed before and without Lan). Anyways, can someone please provide me with some clarity? Maybe I’m missing something. (P.S I love your channel and subscribed✨)

    • @datsuzokuamv
      @datsuzokuamv 5 месяцев назад +4

Wall of text incoming lmao, your comment made me think a lot. I believe that is not that "All of the other Aeons have more broad paths that revolve around the fate of the universe and a philosophy they hold" because they necessarily "care" about the universe and its well-being. (I know this may not have much to do with what you were saying but if definitely made me think about it.) I think they become Aeons only because of how strongly that "fate" affects their own lives and beliefs. For example, Yaoshi ascended to be the abundance because the "death" of others made them suffer. As death is universal and cannot be avoided, the empathy derived from Yaoshi's suffering morphed into their idea to bless beings with the abundance. In that sense, I would say that, as Yaoshi cannot exist without the threat of the pain that comes from death, Lan cannot exist without the abominations of abundance and the pain they generate.
And so, in my opinion, all Aeons base their paths in something else, Lan bases their path in destroying Yaoshi, and Yaoshi bases their path in destroying death, etc. It’s just that in the case of this two, one of them appeared in consequence of the other, but at the end of the day, as Aeons are based on ideas, all those ideas can be opposed with other ideas. Yaoshi exist because of death, Lan exists because of Yaoshi, and maybe in the future someone like the woman from Sanctus Medicus could become its own Aeon to fight the Hunt, and thus another cycle is born.
Therefore, If Yaoshi disappeared, it would not be for long because the feelings that make Yaoshi exist as an Aeon are quite literally universal. If someone you love dies, you can understand logically that death just happens naturally, you know is always a possibility, but it hurts anyway. For how the HSR universe works, there would always be someone trying to alter the natural cycle of life and death, and so the ideals of Yaoshi reach far beyond them as an Aeon. Yaoshi is replaceable, but their ideas are not. And naturally there will also always be someone who would oppose to those ideas and their consequences because they also create pain. In fact, Nanook it’s also trying to alter the natural cycle of life and death because to be able to kill, something first had to be born. To destroy something, there has to be something out there. So, if he destroys everything, there will be nothing left for him to destroy, thus their path would be no more.

It may not seem that way, but I do think Yaoshi's and Lan's relationship is indeed symbiotic in the sense that, philosophically speaking, since life appeared and death started to happen, someone like Yaoshi was destined to appear, and so, since that same moment it was fated that someone like Lan would appear as well in the HSR universe. Or so I think!

Sky People are too weak to scare Qlipoth.
Sky People are not some almighty race. They are the equivalence of galactic bandits. Specifically they punch down on civilization that might be weaker to plunder Honkai energy, but run away and cover their track when encountering anyone strong enough to destroy their forward/recon force.
Welt alone decimated the entirety of their recon force in Alt world Himeko (not HSR Himeko, they just look similar). An Aeon like Qlipoth would not be scared of Sky People.
Generally speaking, Sky People managed to be a threat because they attacked Earth when it was at its weakest (Kiana hasn't complete her isolation on the moon yet, everyone lost their Herrscher power, Honkai energy on Earth is reduced to 1/10 of previous state). In the grand scheme of things even IPC would roll over them.

I mean, we don't need to rely on Genshin lore to assume that some beings can invade/enter the universe of Star Rail. Welt literally did that.
Also, it's interesting thing to notion that, it seems, the planets united in Star Rail are not the different planets of the same universe in our understanding, or at least immensly isolated from each other by some kind of cosmic phenomenon. You can't just travel from the using stuff like conventional spaceships; you'll need some kind of Aeon's energy (Imaginary energy) to pass between "star clusters" (so, before Akivili built Star Rail, no general connection between worlds was on the table; I assume that individual emanators were able to travel, but the industrial-scale transport of "common people" wasn't possible). [The relevant lore entries are Data Bank entries about Interstellar Travel and Imaginary Tree, for starters; I didn't try to make more exhaustive search yet.]
My point is, the difference between internal and external threat can be pretty murky here.

is just me or does qlipoth remind me alot of the golem of jewish mythology, this is just speculation but i would'nt be suprised if the designers of qlipoth took some ispiriation from the golem, plus qlipoth name itself is also of jewish origins as stated in the video.

They’re not different spellings in **English**. You know Jewish people live in all across Europe right. And different parts of Europe speak different languages. And also for the most part of history there wasn’t a standardised way to transliterate words from a non Latin script language into Latin script. So different authors spell things differently to their own preferences. That’s why. Also it’s pronounced Kli-pot.

You seem a tad angry for a simple error...
You could easily have said this without being so confrontational
