I’m pretty sure in 2016, the official sonic twitter posted an image showing Sonic’s email inbox. A couple of those emails were from ray, one having him write something like “Remember me?” (I don’t remember exactly what it said)
In the comics Mighty has been part of the Chaotix since day one, so the fact that he was never brought back in the games has always bugged me. Based on his name you can guess that he has super strength, and his shell could make him more hardy than the other characters, so I don't think it'd be that hard to figure out what his role could be. Given that for a time SEGA had a tendency to force Sonic characters into games where they weren't needed, it has always surprised me that they never brought back the missing Chaotix, as well as the characters from Sonic the Fighters. I think it'd be nice to see them again. Even if they never appeared again, it'd be good to update their personalities.
I really want the rest of the Chaotix and Ray back. You should do episodes on Bean the Dynamite, Bark the Polar Bear, and Fang the Sniper/ Nack the Weasel.
Just me but I wouldn't mind if they remixed some of the music like they did for the few tracks they put on *_Sonic Generations_* that they got from *_Chaotix_*.
I think that Mighty, Ray, Bomb, and Heavy the Robot should come back in the next Sonic game. But they should be the main antagonists (villains) because they are so full of rage for being forgotten by the rest of the sonic crew, but most of all, Team Chaotix. Archie comics sort of has a thing for taking characters that SEGA has basically forgotten about and putting them in roles we never would've even imagined. But when you pointed out the similarities between Mighty and Sonic, I was reminded of how Mighty and Ray's relationship in the comic books is almost a direct copy and paste of Sonic and Tails's relationship.
Happened upon this gem, wow has it really been 7 years since this video, time sure flies. Really glad they brought both Mighty and Ray back for Mania... though a bit sad they haven't been brought back for Origins, or even Origins Plus. Hopefully they aren't killed off or missing in action again, I really grew to love Mighty especially, in Mania quickly became one of my favorite characters up there with Sonic and Metal Sonic. He's like an inverse Shadow, I've liked Shadow, but never as much as everyone else, couldn't explain why, and yet Mighty's pallete of kind of swapping the colors being more red with black than black with red, their opposites of personality, Mighty being a more power house, but not a grump like Knuckles who doesn't chuckle. Really had hoped they could've been included in Origins Plus, maybe there is still room for them, but if not hopefully there is still a future for them, in Super Stars or hopefully some Mania 2 or other sequel in the future.

I would love for Sega to bring back Mighty & Ray!! I also always thought it'd be cool if Manic from Sonic Underground were to be brought into the game universe. :) Also, missing in action : a SONIC ADVENTURE type game!! God I want another game that plays and feels like that so bad. ..And at this point, I wouldn't even care if Yuji Naka went Inafune/Igarashi/Playtonic with it. I just want something that feels like it again. There are no games that give me that fast, fluid gameplay or those cool vibes anymore.
SuperYosh Mario bros 2 wasn't really a mario game it was a japanese game doki doki panic with a mario skin / pallet so it makes sense why most characters (excluding birdo) wouldn't reappear in later games
What a surprise - I didn't learn anything new from your publication, and yet it was quite a pleasure to watch it - congratulations, GameXplain :) As far as I know, also Ray (or at least "flying squirrel character", not sure about name) was one of the concepts for main character of Sega's famous platform game (but the most interesting was another concept of main character - man with moustache resembling Theodore Roosevelt - yup, later, this concept was used as arch-nemesis of Sonic - Ivo Robotnik). IMO in some way it was unevitable, that both of them "passed" quite quickly and were never re-introduced. I can easily imagine, that in 90' Mighty and Ray could play exactly the same role as Sonic and Tails... But yeah, you don't need replacement, when you've got original "parts", fresh and working. I've never paid too much attention to Heavy and Bomb, it's hard for me to even consider them as full-fledged characters ( I've never had this problem with Gamma or Omega). Nevertheless, despite comics (as far as I know - not only Archie's), fans are still keeping those "forgotten" characters alive - there is quite a lot fan-made games/rom hacks with Mighty. Ray doesn't have so much luck though... But luckily, in Sonic World, we've got there all of them (even Heavy & Bomb are there, as good as Bark and Bean from Sonic Fighter). I wish that there could be some more attempts with making some spin-off with someone different than Sonic as main character. So far, there wasn't too many such attempts (and both were rather mediocre - Knuckles Chaotix and Shadow the Hedgehog), but I still like this idea, it has some potential.
This video kicked off my short-term interest in Sonic, which eventually lead to me gaining a long-term interest in Klonoa via ExoParadigmGamer. Thanks, GameXplain.

The rest of the chaotix have returned, or at least two of them - Mighty and Rey have returned. As of Heavy and Bomb, not so much. Maybe in the next Sonic game, we don't know.
Missing in Action: Real cities in the GTA series. London was the focus of two Mission Packs, and then, all the other GTA games featured fictional cities, but based on real ones, but some references to the real life counterparts still appear in licensed music.
Wow this was a real good video! I hope Sega brings those Mighty and Ray back but instead maybe mack them rivals to Sonic and Tails (not villains, just rivals) sense Sonic and Tails where in the spot light while Mighty and Ray where almost left for dead, but keep up the good work bro!

Wow this was a real good video! I hope Sega brings those Mighty and Ray back but instead maybe mack them rivals to Sonic and Tails (not villains, just rivals) sense Sonic and Tails where in the spot light while Mighty and Ray where almost left for dead, but keep up the good work bro!
Although Mighty and Ray are in Sonic Mania plus as a tribute to them, Heavy and Bomb weren't so lucky.
