One of my Top 5 Evanescence songs! Amy Lee...unbelievable. That voice, and her piano playing...She wrote this song for her husband. You MUST watch this video!

Amy wrote this about her current husband. She also wrote bring me to life about him because at the time they were just friends and they went to lunch , while it was just Amy and her now husband at the table he asked her if she was really happy/ok and Amy felt like that was the first time someone really saw her.

Evanescence was always weird in that mainstream saw them as goth and old school goth folks saw them as mainstream. Also I'm too tired to dig up my memories of the drama, but basically the lead singer fired the band between the first and second albums, so the first album band grabbed a new singer who snagged an American Idol 7 slot and basically tried to reboot as a soundalike band....

Yup. Amy Lee and Ben Moody founded Evanescence as a couple, but split and Ben left the band. Amy hired a new band and kept going as Evanescence, and Ben along with other former members of Evanescence formed a new band called We Are the Fallen with Carly Smithson as vocalist.
Let’s also not forget that Ben abandoned the band on the first European tour for debut album Fallen. She wrote a song called the last song I’m wasting on you about it.
Ben Moodys song with Anastacia Everything Burns is pretty incredible though to be fair to the man
