If you guys like strong female vocals with that rock edge you really need to check out Maria Brink from In This Moment. Strong voice with quite a range.

Lithium used to be prescribed as an antidepressant. One of its biggest side effects was a total indifference to your surroundings. Creativity....along with everything else that defined an individual, was suppressed. In context, this song makes perfect sense from the perspective of someone on Lithium. My mom struggled with Bipolar Disorder for years and spent a lot of time on Lithium.
Yes, we've been suggesting the Lzzy Hale/Amy Lee collaboration song for a long time. Hopefully they will get to it soon HALESTORM/ featuring AMY LEE Song: BREAK IN
Yeah it's crazy how they always claim that they "love" her voice every time they actually listen to one of her songs but it always takes ages for them to react to another. That doesn't make any sense. I know stuff happens and they react to other bands but if they really did "love" her and the band then wouldn't they make sure to add her and listen to her more often? I'm just confused at that part but yeah they should definitely react to Break In. But since he forgot about Amy and Lzzy then it probably won't happen for another 10,000 years. Again I don't mean any hate but it's kinda really annoying. Especially as a Amy stan and fan and admirer. She deserves more respect. 🤘🤘
Amy Lee's voice washes over you like an ocean wave - beautiful & a little frightening at the same time. She truly is a dark angel that has stepped out of a gothic novel. Have y'all listened to her song "My Immortal" yet? I'd also suggest her collaboration with the band Seether -"Broken". For two other incredible, uniquely angelic female voices, I would suggest Loreena McKennitt ("Dante's Prayer", "The Mummer's Dance", "The Old Ways", "The Highwayman") & Maria Franz of Heilung (In Maidjen", "Anoana", "Kriegsgaldr", Norupo").
I once described her as sounding like a fallen angel - still with the angelic, soaring voice, but backed by the heavy drums and harshly distorted guitar. A combination that I would never have thought could work, but now I can't imagine her singing to any other backing. 👍
YO I absolutely love "Understanding". It's so damn good and criminally underrated. It gives me the biggest chills everytime l listen to it. I wish she would sing it live. That would be epic. 🔥🔥🔥
Can I just say how much you guys reaction means to me, it is my pick me up every single day! I am so thankful I have a safe space to come and enjoy the music without the bitterness that surrounds this world! You guys are The Epitome of the Oklahoma standard! Yes I am from Oklahoma and I know you represent that standard! We know what I’m talking about…
Evanescence reminds me of a melodic Vampiress singing about a human love she cannot have but desperately wants. Hauntingly beautiful as it pulls you in deeper...and deeper.
Love Amy Lee. Lithium is a traditional, sort of first medication to treat bipolar disorder, mental health issues. This hits really deep because if you have ever been down that path this rings so true.
Happy anniversary guys!!! Can't believe it's only 2 years, it feels so much longer (in a good way)!!! It's a great journey you are taking and there is much more to go!!! Keep the great music coming!!!
Evanescence is one of my favorite Metal bands, especially female led Metal bands. You mentioned Lzzy Hale and I thought of another great Female Friday song because it celebrates women. It's from a Mongolian Rock band called The HU. They specialize in Mongolian Throat Singing. Lzzy Hale sings with them in a song called "Song Of Women". It's a beautiful song and even shows pics of them with their moms when they were kids. Another great The HU song is "Wolf Totem". 😎👍Happy YT anniversary! 🥳
She IS truly Amazing.. but we may want to pump the brakes on 'greatest ever'.. I think Anne Wilson.. Aretha Franklin.. Whitney.. may have something to say about that.
@Steven Clark There is a group of female vocalists on the top rung of greatness. Anne Wilson, Karen Carpenter, Floor Jansen, the ones you named are all on there. At that point, it comes down to personal preference. I put Amy #1 because of the combination of her music, deep meaning of her lyrics, she can sing while playing would class piano, and she is so likable. She checks off more boxes than other singers IMO. Who would you put on top of your list?
For me she is the "most unique voice". Her crystal clear vibes cuts trough every hard metal sound and her haunting voice goes straight to you heart. Dark & beautifaul at the same time, she sings with passion.
As someone who has dealt with depression, I completely related to this song. From the line "didn't drink enough to say you love me" to "don't want to stay in love with my sorrow". Yes, I get it.
If you guys haven't heard "Good Enough" by them, you should try it. It will bring a tear to your eye, it's so achingly beautiful. But it's a little different than most of their songs as there iare no guitars or drums. Or, if you want heart wrenching but with all the metal and drums, try "My Heart is Broken."
ugh, lithium is one of the "medicines" prescribed for my mom (may she rest in peace) when she took a seperate reality when I was 10yo... she was never the same. The lyrics encapsulate how I imagined mom's internal struggle with re-entering "normal" life. imho, she never did...
The reason I’m a subscriber is because of the way Amber talks about songs like this. Surely this is not a first listen, to nail down the songs meaning so quickly and describe it so well. I’ve said it before Amber is the best reactor on RUclips. Can I suggest the next Evanescence song to be, “Use my voice” you’ll be blown away by it.
I forgot about Evanescence! Loved them back in the day. You guys need to check out some more Sarah McLachlan! “Building a Mystery”,”Adia”, and “Angel” are other great ones to check out. Also her collaboration with Delirium called “Silence” is incredible!
"Just didn'tdrink enoughto say you love me" another drinking reference. I really can't believe she was hurt so badly... but I can fully appreciate what she did with her sorrow.
Please react to the following: Celine Dion - Immortality (with the Bee Gees in the background) Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man - Candy Man (Both Great Horns !!) Also - Lady Marmalad Annie Lenox (Eurythmics) - Would I Lie to You - I Need a Man - Thorn in My Side Gwen Stefanie - It's My Life - What You Waiting For - Don't Speak Head Pins - Don't it Make You Feel (like Dancing) - Turn it Loud - Just One More Time Toronto - Your Daddy Don't Know - Start Telling the Truth
This is my first introduction to Evanescence. I've heard so much about them because Nightwish is being constantly compared to them. I'm impressed. Great reaction RSR!
It doesn't seem that two years have passed since I first came across this hirsute schoolmaster offering the RUclips universe his opinion on recordings I have loved (and others I have disliked, now and then). His charming and musically adroit wife joined him not long after. Since then, I have been blessed by inviting this delightful duo into my daily schedule. Thank you both ❤ and many blessings 🎉
Another great selection Miss Amber. You have a poet's soul, an Angel's face, and a beautiful spirit. The free soul is rare, but you know it when you see it, basically because you feel good, very good when you are near or with them. Keep up the amazing work and great music on Fridays. You (and Rob) are greatly appreciated.
Cant go wrong with Amy Lee. I love "Everybodys Fool" and so many others. She also does a duet with Lzzy Hale for Halestorms Break In. Absolutely beautiful duet.
3 songs by evanescence you need to listen to. 1. Hello about her sister. 2. Missing extremely moving and 3 breathe no more. Amy is one of my favorite singers. Her earlier music was macabre gothic and her songs ALWAYS HIT MY SOUL. THROW IN OCTOBER TOO. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED ❤
Congrats on two years of reaction videos. Amy Lee's voice is incredible. But when we saw her in concert, I found her piano playing to be awesome. . She is a great musician.
Evanescence is awesome! You've done Sober, Going Under, Bring Me To Life, and now Lithium... So... Next you need to do What You Want, Everybody's Fool, Use My Voice, Wasted on You, & Broken Pieces Shine!
I'd never heard this song before, but Amy Lee could literally sing the phone book and it would sound amazing. Her voice and the music of Evanescence are just phenomenal.
Amy Lee broke this song out as part of her tour with Muse. Saw the show back on March 19, and the only song of the night to send chills up and down my spine was Lithium. I can't listen to Ev enough.
Congrats on two years, you two!! Jay, like you I love how so many of Evanescence's tunes start out with Amy Lee's haunting voice and then the band comes in hard, yet melodic. However, Amber, for a future Female Friday I highly recommend their tune "Hello" -- it is solely Amy Lee and the piano -- mellow, haunting, and with a great yet heart-wrenching backstory.
Amy Lee has a live concert collaboration with the Japanese group Wagakki Band. Check out the song Senbonzakura. Amazing musicianship from all members and the lead singer Suzukhana Yuko has won awards for traditional Japanese vocals.
Cant wait to see them on Thursday! They’re opening for Muse, which is a band you should also check out RS. “Time Is Running Out” “Starlight” and “Uprising” are a few suggestions. Also, happy 2 year anniversary 🤍.

Probably my favorite evanescence song, pretty but haunting
Those high notes holy cow
Mine too!! Well other than "My Immortal". Love that song but I also really love this song and it's so underrated. ❤❤🔥🔥
For me Lithium, Bring Me To Life, My Immortal and Going Under are on the same high level, best songs.
How the hell can you “always forget about” the ethereal and powerhouse voice of Amy Lee??? 🤔

Creativity....along with everything else that defined an individual, was suppressed. In context, this song makes perfect sense from the perspective of someone on Lithium. No matter what she sings, her voice is hauntingly beautiful!!💕💕🎵🎼🎶🎸🥁🎹🎤🎙🎧🤘🤘
