Но мои англоговорящие друзья скажут мне, что для англоговорящего это звучит очень грубо, и следует сказать, вроде "Excuse me, could you open the window, please?"

@@SamsRussianAdventures Yeah. For 7 years 😅 Can't say our teacher in primary school was any good (she was absent at least twice a month). It was a rural school, so nothing really stuck with me as the quality of education in such schools is very poor. Those 4 years thought me how to read, numbers and some random words. The very thing the USA claims to be when it uses the purposefully confusing description of "The West" for itself and its destruction of Western Europe then to use that to destroy Eastern Europe in the Guise of "The West"... It disgusts me. The best way I think to fight lies is with honesty and showing "normal real" Russia is better than playing the game of fake propaganda.

Im just wondering how did you learn russian and how long did it take for you to get to this level of russian?
I didn’t really study it. I did apply to study it at a Russian university, but I never went to class. I’ve lived in Russia for 16 years so I just picked it up. My grammar and accent is awful but after living for so long in another country, I never have apprehension speaking. I forget that I’m foreign. For the first few years in Russia, I just spoke English and life was difficult, partly because times were different. In my city there were no shopping centres or even supermarkets. I was as forced to speak it. I’d say after about 8 years in Russia I felt competent, that’s just coz I didn’t study it. Though I know many people who studied it and speak correctly, but when they speak normal Russian on the street, nobody understands them.
@@SamsRussianAdventures I recently discovered Austrian actor Wolfgang Cerny. He shot his first movie in Russia in 2012 and couldn´t say a word. Now in 2020, he is fluent. And he wasn´t living the whole time in Russia. So similar to your experience

@@Martina-Kosicanka honestly my Russian isn’t that good. I have a large vocabulary and I’m confident, but my grammar and accent are pretty shocking. I wish I had studied Russian but I was just too lazy!

Но мои англоговорящие друзья скажут мне, что для англоговорящего это звучит очень грубо, и следует сказать, вроде "Excuse me, could you open the window, please?"

His pronunciation is worse than mine but vocabulary is much more broader + better grammar. Let's not talk about the fact I live in Latvia - a post-Soviet country with quite a lot Russian speaking citizens.
Did you study Russian?
@@SamsRussianAdventures Yeah. For 7 years 😅 Can't say our teacher in primary school was any good (she was absent at least twice a month). It was a rural school, so nothing really stuck with me as the quality of education in such schools is very poor. Those 4 years thought me how to read, numbers and some random words.
No one really spoke Russian around me when I was growing up so that didn't help either.
Highschool (10th-12th grade), however, was way better and did help me add a bit to my Russian vocabulary and grammar.
@@ai-go9yh I didn't really learn it either. Just picked it up as I went along. That's why my grammar and accent are pretty bad.
@@SamsRussianAdventures I can't really judge the grammar as I myself suck at it, but your vocabulary is quite good for someone who hasn't been taught Russian. It is considered one of the hardest languages, and anyone who decides to learn it without being forced deserves all the respect my body holds.

1. каша is not exotic.
2. it's better to use вы with strangers than ты. It's kinda weird that you would use вы (formal "you") with Nikolas and Denis as they were children (people it is culturally acceptable for you to use ты with). But you used the informal version, ты, with most of the adults.
All of the people who I used Ты with are people who I already know. I was just being sarcastic about the каша)))
