I know some people are of the opinion that this was just a case of "tragic misunderstanding" but I think that he was doing what he was doing on purpose. Like the description says it was a game of cat and mouse. I think the guy was a predator who saw his chance, you can argue circumstance on several aspects I suppose, however I’m lead to believe he knew what he was doing. 1) In the first instance when he stopped and she stopped and he was unsure- why did he drive to an area with only woods and no houses to stop again? I think it's because he didn't want her to have anywhere to go, he could have called the mom and asked for a description at any time, or gotten out of the car to try to verify who she was, he had already driven by her at the bus stop so he'd seen her previously. 2) Then chasing her through the woods like that? Come on! Another instance when he could have called her Mum for advice instead of waiting for after the fact. 3) Coming up behind her and touching her and the most defining part for me- when she hid in the house and he stuck his hand in the window and caressed her head- as opposed to standing in the door, holding up his hands to show he didn't mean harm and trying to figure out a way to explain himself. I also don't believe he didn't see the body, the grass wasn't that high- he probably just thought she was dead and left her. I also think the Mom had an idea towards the end which is why she pulled back when he tried to reach for her. But that's my interpretation of what I saw, so... *shrug*
I totally agree with you! And, why would the mum say she doesn't like her daughter walking home alone? That was also a key part that leads to the fact that she is not safe. Oh, and if it was a schoolmate's father, then where the heck was his kid to prove that he was who he says is was?!
Not to mention the obvious rape imagery of the doll sitting in blood. That alone tells you this was no "misunderstanding." Were people really that confused? Come on, this was obvious. He was lying to cover his butt, why else is she screaming in blood at the end. He definitely found her and had his way with her.
not to mention the fact that his body language in the conversation with the mom read liar. his half smile, his eyes darting around but meeting eyes when he talks, liking the inside of his cheek. his tone was very practiced and indifferent. the normal reaction in this situation would be guilt, "why didn't i help her?" his tone is saying "there's nothing i could have done. and then there's that the smile when the police officer get up leaves. he was lying and that smile said i got away with it. not to mention the fact that the girls body would be easily visable. she was wearing a red jacket she's pale, there wasn't anything covering or concealing her body. he would have seen her, he was seven feet away. mama trusted the wrong man
I think the biggest point most people are missing is the fact that he had lied. I mean come on if you were talking to the cops and being truthful wouldn't you include the part about you trying to run after her in the woods? If I weren't lying I know I would.
it's highly dependent on the evidence they have however. they left their marks in the woods. an experienced tracker might be able to put it together. but at the moment it just looks like she got lost to the police.
My interpretation is that the man the mom sent actually raped her in the end and thought he had killed her. He tried to play innocent by comforting the mother, but that last shot shows she's alive and will hopefully get justice. That's what I think because if he was just trying to take her home why would he grab her hair?
my question is why would the mother send someone she doesn't know too well...I definitely would have my mom or husbands mom to pick her up or a really good friend who knows my daughter well
I think the point was that the guy was never really "good". The mom caught the vibe & came to the realization in the end that she entrusted her daughter's life to someone who harmed her. Great story and very nicely done. Well acted.
This is why these animals pretending to be men should be hung! These poor kids are usually too scared to fight back!! If we put these demons to death, maybe kids won't have to be afraid and learn to fight! And, maybe if they had parents who gave a hot damn, maybe this world would be better! But, no one takes responsibility for their actions, they blame the victim instead! This anger is not directed at any commenter, I am just hot mad right now! This video broke my heart!!
I really enjoyed this. Both the director and the DP, deserve a lot of credit. Those landscape shots were beautiful.I loved how the atmosphere reflected her isolation. Even the way she was walking, at first, looked like she was lonely, someone with few or no friends. I hope you do a full length at some point. Well done!!
The mom tells the policeman she usually picks her daughter up, right? Can't be that certain if the girl is texting her mom to ask if she's picking her up from the bus stop. That would imply that the girl isn't assured that her mom will be there. Maybe she has had to walk home sometimes. Maybe her mom has arranged for someone else to be there in the past.
People say stuff like this is not that scary besides the jump scare, but if you are a parent then this is a nightmare. the very scary thing about this is that stuff like this happens so often and authorities are often too late. Edit: the mom in the film is stronger than me because i wound not be able to survive loosing a child.
first it's scary, then the twist just makes it tragic. its weird, but i found the jump scare to be rather comforting; it tells us she didn't die after all
Apparently, the man found the unconcious body of the girl after falling and hitting her head on a stone and raped her thinking she was already dead, that is why the doll appears with no clothes and with blood coming out her private parts. In the end the girl is not dead, she wakes up screaming because she feels so much pain and kind of knows what happened. After this kind of experience, a person goes into a big trauma and has issues for the rest of her/his life. Rapists and pedophiles destroy so many human souls and make their lifes a big nightmare. Maybe it is more comforting to think that she died and her soul now is free to go somewhere better.
@@jaypaige7550 imagine someone commented that its cheap 5 years ago its 2020 now and u said its a good short film... well no its not i searched for short HORROR film hororrrrrrr tf was that ohh wait its 2019 when u commented that but still HORRORRRRRR
My observations as I watched: The girl asks her mother, whether she will be at the bus stop, which indicates it isn't always the case and sometimes the girl has to walk home alone. If her mother always picked her up and for some reason did not come this time, the girl would have tried to call her. The man must know the girl; it is not a coincidence or meeting of opportunity. He must have been stalking her and knows she walks home alone sometimes. He was waiting for a time like this to strike. I don't think this is the first time the girl saw his van either; she started running almost immediately. The doll in the beginning is shown with the girl whispering 'I am going to love you forever and ever'...and the song as we see the van for the first time is "forever and ever" by Demis Roussos: indication it isn't their first meeting. The other indication they know each other: she doesn't try to call her mother (she doesn't know yet she lost her phone): she wants to deal with him alone. But she is scared enough of him not to make a sound as she has to practically rip out her hair. The clips with the doll are very clever: they show the dehumanization and trauma she went through. First clip with the song the man likes; then she cuts the hair (most girls think long hair makes them pretty, so she makes herself ugly on purpose or feels ugly); then the doll sitting in blood and his voice (obviously rape). Then her mother says she picks the girl up from the bus stop most days, but I get a feeling she lies about 'most days', as indicated by irritation of her daughter in the beginning of the movie. When the mother says, the girl doesn't wear the aid, because she likes the quiet, it's obvious the mother doesn't really know her daughter. It's obvious the girl avoided wearing the aid because of the bullying. And sending a man we knows so little "he doesn't know what the girl looks like" is not a responsible parent behavior. The scariest thought: the man has been molesting the girl for some time. The only explanation I have for the jump scare in the end (besides that it makes no sense) is the girl is alive and the man has her. No explanation for why the phone is a different one. And I think it would be better to leave the sound out for when the girl lost her hearing aid...
People keep saying "I don't get the doll". Come on, think about it! I do get it - it is a symbol, a clue of what happened to the girl in the movie, I.E., she got raped. The way I see it, the man did find her after she fell, done a dirty deed with her, and then walked away from her. And remember, she is deaf, so since she can't hear him walking around, and did not see him anywhere, she thought it is somewhat safe to stop and take a drink. I can understand that, as I am deaf myself. (This video NEED to be captioned, btw!) The only one thing I did not get, either, is the ending - she is still alive and apparently muddy from falling. I can't hear her screaming, of course, so the ending was just confusing, not scary at all. Oh well, good try, I guess.
Duskygrass- How does a lone toy doll, eventually with short hair, prove/show she was raped? Sorry, not saying your wrong, or anything, I just don't know.
Brilliant! Been a horror movie fan for several decades (since childhood), and always love a good scare--on film anyway, and this one did that for me. Awesome! Keep up the great work! Love British horror especially! 👌👍✊👏
Powerfool as someone with a hearing loss in both ears. This is actually very well utilized. Everything is muffled and you hear more background noise over everything.
What I think is that she is the doll, in the beginning she is saying "I will love you" blah blah blah. Well the dolls hair is cut, (maybe that's a metaphor for something like she was broken after whatever happened) and then you hear the man saying that thing the girl said, only the doll sitting in a pool of blood, maybe he raped her before the fact and that's why she didn't want to go anywhere near that van because she recognized who it was. Also, if he wasn't guilty then why didn't he tell the police officer everything that happened? All he said was she ran out in the woods. Also the mans facial expression when the police officer left and believed what the man had supposedly done, it was like a wash of relief came over his face. I think he raped her two times, once before, once after he found her when she was unconscious. I don't know, that just my understanding of this.
I think he rape her after he found her unconscious. It makes more sense to me cos she wasn’t scared wen the blue van first went by when she was stood by the side of the road.
Happy I found this - it’s disturbing for sure but very well done. The cinematography and editing is especially impressive & made for a visceral experience - as one example the scene where her hair gets tangled in a bunch of extended twigs (don’t recall if they were thorns?) and she’s struggling to dislodge it - I literally became anxious by that & for her. The accompanying mic work was good too 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I like to think her mom came and found her, wrapped her in a warm blanket and brought her home. Served her tea and warm scones, and she fell asleep in her safe, comfy bed, dreaming of unicorns.
I was on board til she got to that wooden fence.. then the guy? Was he good? If so, why did he grab her hair like an asshole? And if he knows shes deaf why doesn't he get out of the car and signal in some way to her that he's friendly. Then the end.. so she's alive? Well.. thats great.. she can walk back home.. movie just couldn't really figure out what it wanted be.
Given the doll that looks like her, and the creepy vibe from the whole music playing in van while he watched her like he did, the sneaking around and grabbing her hair, and again the doll that looks like her, bleeding from her lady parts.... I'm pretty sure he raped her and left her for dead.
I am totally confused with the ending. When he was describing what happened he didn't mention he ran after her into the woods, and she went to that old house or old place. Why? Did he do something to the girl? And, at @18:36, what exactly happened?
I agree, jump-scares are for the shorts with no plot.... guy and girlfriend on the sofa watching a movie, stupid stuff like that. It kind of took away from how well this was done
To attract views, ofcourse, the internet is full of lies. :) Although, in the description the true parts are mentioned. "This is based on a true story, about an incident involving a school girl who was stalked by a molester/killer as she walked home alone after a day out with friends. "
William Eamon THIS story is fictional, but it's BASED on a true story. It's a fictional story that is based on a true story. Is that too hard to understand? Is it really that difficult? Do you know what the word "based" means?
screencraft.org/2013/04/17/based-true-story-fact-vs-fiction-screenwriting/ "As writers, we should all know that words matter and that there is indeed a difference between claiming that your script is “A true story”, “Based on a true story”, “Inspired by a true story”, or some other variation. Understand what you’re saying and how audiences will interpret them." I'm just pointing out that they might want to change the wording or clarify because it's not clear.
If someone was chasing me, not only would I be flying like the fucking wind, I would be vaulting that fence like I was a god damn Olympian don't come at me with that "can't get over the fence" bullshit
Not so sure if I'm right so correct me if I'm wrong. Basically what's going on is that the girl was chased by a molester which means that she was sexually abused. What's sad is that its based on the true story. The scream at the end was supposed to be a jump scare, its not on the case. Instead, she was decapitated. Read the description!
The guy was supposedly "sent" by the mother to pick her up but I think the guy had other intentions then to just pick her up, (I mean he was going to molest and rape her) but that's about right... That's only my opinion.
the film was done very well because even though nothing was really happening throughout most of the film, it kept my attention all the way through. That is not easy to do without the usual gratuitous violence, etc. I was also curious as to the man in the van---was he a child molester, why didn't he try to communicate with her, etc? Very well done.
Good intentions is the best I could say. That awkward grab through the broken window, those jump-scares, those scenes of the dolls that has no connection with nothing...
Yeah, but this chick left her cell phone on the bus, and she wasn't careful enough with her hearing aid. Those are the things that's going to help her ass out with her deaf situation!!!
puntin princess perhaps it was a way of showing that she has “ lost touch “ with any one who could help her. ( played by her losing her material possessions )
I only watch short horror films that are 8 minutes or less, and I accidentally clicked on this one while carrying Doritos and a pb&j to bed. It was so good that I watched the whole thing after checking how long it was! Usually I check the time and immediately click out, so job well done :)
Genuinely creepy. I did have the odd feeling throughout that he meant her no harm, but I didn't know for sure, and that juxtaposition is what brings a psychological edge to the horror. Very atmospheric and well done.
OK, here's what I think. I think the doll is sitting in a puddle of blood. There is some blood on the pantaloons between its legs, but not enough to indicate that's where the blood was coming from. I'm not sure it was coming from anywhere, I think it was just symbolic.
At 5:15 - How many jumped out of your seats when the red car sped by the girl😲? Interesting film, yet how horrifying for what happened in real life. I will always believe that those whose life ended in violence, and never found, their souls will never rest until their bodies are found and the killer is brought to justice.
It is a painful end to a lovely kid. For those who think that the end with 'dog and jump scream' sequence was meaningless, I have a feeling that the movie wants to express that the victim was murdered and her beheaded body was found by cadaver dogs. The scream represents her scream for justice. With the possibility of either the family friend (who was to pick her up) or someone else (depicted by another passing car at 5:21) being persons of interest, none can be confirmed to the crime. Justice seems to be pending in the case. I am not aware of the story but this is what I understood. My heart goes out to the victims and parents all over the world. Prayers! I often read of such crime against children from every other country. Such criminals should be behind bars for all their lives.
Should say this is THE BEST SHORT MOVIE i have ever watched. Awesome screensplay, amazing BGM, flawless Screenplay.... just felt one place the story should have got better was towards the end, the Climax should have been with a motive (just my thought). Great work by the entire team. Cheers
soooooo, it says in the comments stalked by molester which would explain the doll scene with the blood. and the hair grabbing can be linked to the fact he is loving on the dolls hair, however..... it also says killer, why in the UNNECESSARY jump scare does it show that she is still alive? oh and props to the whole " i am gonna love you forever and ever, as much as i possibly can" that was creepy!!!
This is based on a true story, about an incident involving a school girl who was stalked by a molester/killer as she walked home alone after a day out with friends. Two weeks after this a young girl was found decapitated in the woodlands where this took place.
Retro elegant horror, without guts and carnage. Very well done. The thing that grabbed my attention though, was the visually breathtaking scenery. Beautiful.
The ending is nonsensical and totally disconnected in feel, tone and atmosphere to the rest of the story. Everything preceding the final scene is excellent.
Ok here's the complete story people lol, The girl repeating to the doll the same song lyrics to the doll, he to repeated that is being played loudly in van metaphorically or not confirmed rape(molestation) cutting the innocence from her youth as an infant by a fathers sick friend with a doll representing her He did find her unconscious and rapped her one last time(cutting dolls hair and blood), the song says loving you for ever and ever and something about meeting again. He has not seen her for years but they both won't forget for her that song, van, and sicko rapper friend of daddy and for him her hair, fair skin, first rape, and song he's now obsessed with.So he finds a rock hinted that she may of hit her head but she actually has been caught then rapped, and put in a shallow grave. So after she was dumped in a shallow grave. He has the alibi For cop and "Debs" Letting us know with the use of a nick name for the mum he'd known her a long time and that she doesn't believe his statement made was honest and is not liking him for obvious reasons. The coming out of the grave was only a metaphor that she was found eventually but still met her fate that day. That's what Happened your welcome
This was really good, I also believe the guy was a liar and knew full well what he was doing and tried to take advantage of her, also the scare at the end slightly ruins it but at least it shows us she lived
Because it’s the UK... there is also A phenomenon called “ginger clustering”(look it up) often times you see one of us you see a bunch.., plus as I said, the UK houses the majority of gingers that make up the 2% of the population 🙏🏻🇨🇦❤️
Very well done. My only issue(Small one) was with her jumping up screaming at the end. Plus this was more on the drama side of the fence then horror. But I really did love the film, excellent job.
That was very well done almost as if Lynne Ramsay or Ken Loach had mad a chase thriller. I love the no dialogue, the girl is a loner, she's deaf no need for talky talky. The film invoked the spirit of other movies like Kes, Duel, Eden Lake, The Lovely Bones, and there was a hint of The Descent in the final shot. Though the most effective and disturbing aspects were the stomach churning shots of the doll. All told I'm a gonna check out your other vulnerable female flicks and look forward to more of your stuff.
The girl's Mom said the man in the blue truck was a friend of the girl's Dad and had been sent to pick her up. If he didn't mean any harm and if he was innocent then why did he drive right past her at 2:58? He should have stopped and made his intentions known and explained he was a friend of her Dad's and was sent by her Mom to pick her up. Instead, the creep drives right past her so he was acting weird and sketchy right from the start which hints at the fact that he can't be trusted. Also, there are a lot of comments about the silence and how it could have been shown off or portrayed in a different way. But if you watch the beginning where they are all on the bus, she took her hearing aid out of her ear and it wasn't completely silent because she is not completely deaf. It sounded like the voices were far off in the distance or muffled.
Dan's friend Joan or Jon story is incomplete. He chased after her...clearly his intentions became devious. He said she didn't have her hearing aid on when in fact, she lost it after running into the woods. The mom seem to have a hunch something ain't right. The doll does seem to clearly represent she was assaulted and maybe they used the doll to represent what a 'helpless mute person' may feel like..a doll. Supposedly, the guy never saw this girl but she was smart enough to know something is off. To him knowing of her physical challenge, maybe to him; she was a doll, something he could play with. Great writing when it cause us to do some critical thinking...Thanks for the upload!
"Based off a true story" is not the same as "Recreation of a true story." Obviously many details were changed, starting with the circumstances behind the girl being chased and how the story ends. The basic elements are there but the story itself is new. I feel the "jump scare" at the end could imply a number of different things. It could be a representation of the pain she went through before she ultimately died. It could mean that she lived for a time before dying on her own and she was expressing her pain then and there. In my opinion, I believe she died in this story regardless, partially because that was the fate of the girl in the original story, and also because you'd think if there was a happy ending to this the happy ending would've been told. All of this is of course my own opinion and interpretation of the story being told here. Take that as you will.
My Interpretation is … She is Deaf ( Hard of Hearing ) so it’s hard to get around and she followed the van probably thinking it would led her home because her mom failed to pick her up but she didn’t know the man was her uncle in the blue van She noticed the van caught onto her so she ran away thinking the man had BAD interests but the man / her uncle didn’t know what she looked like and then she runs away she finds a hiding place Goes to sleep wakes up back on an adventure to get home sees a man think he has bad intentions and hides get caught Run and hide in warehouse and get. Caught again . Gets raped which is why we saw her hands like they were releasing stress and then see the doll in a pool of blood and then the police Come For a missing person report and she is still alive probably Traumatized which is why she screamed
I thought this would turn out that way, but the dude should have been more vocal than act like some creeper running after a young girl. And who sends a stranger to pick up their teenage girl? I'd be terrified if a man I don't know drive up to me in a van and said "Hey, your mom asked me to pick you up." Um, can you say stranger danger? |:
The sad thing is, a great deal of cases where children are molested and killed are indeed committed by someone who knew the family. Knew their circumstances, knew their schedules, etc. This is sadly representative of many cases perpetrated across the planet every day.
If you notice, at around the 17:45 mark the so-called friend of the Dad reached for the mother's hand so maybe there was something going on there if you know what I mean. Just a thought.
This was an interesting and very well made little film, but I must tell you the outcome was predictable, at least to me. I quickly realized the fellow in the blue van was likely someone her mum had sent to pick her up. I was also intrigued to see that the location manager who was as well one of the passengers on the bus was named Merritt because that is my family name. Perhaps it was one of my distant relatives who unlike my family immigrated to America in the distant past.
Hey guys! This was a very suspenseful film with a nice twist, and I think you did a wonderful job in keeping the audience guessing. I'm an animation major with an interest in post-production and editing, and I am looking to create a series of trailers and/or title sequences for several short horror films. I would really love to use your guys' film as one of them! I can assure you that it is merely for academic purposes and it will not be monetized in any way. I am doing this to demonstrate how to develop promotional material, tell a succinct, engaging story to captivate audiences, and to create atmosphere and evoke emotion. If you decline permission, I completely understand. But I would really like to use your film, as I think it is quite interesting and would be perfect as a trailer/title sequence! Of course, I will give everyone involved credit in the final product!
What I'm mostly confused about it why at first the girl is saying "I'm going to love you forever and ever, as much as I possibly can." I get it when the guy says it later, but why does she say it to the doll first... And cutting her hair? Also, is there some reason her hands are blue/white while she's cutting the doll's hair? Is that supposed to signify that she did die? The ending with her waking up with blood on her face was confusing. It was well done, but it wasn't very engaging to me, too much scenery and running around. That's just me...
*shrug*

it's highly dependent on the evidence they have however. they left their marks in the woods. an experienced tracker might be able to put it together. but at the moment it just looks like she got lost to the police.

I agree with you.
That guy was totally sketchy.
Why wouldn't he have identified himself early on?
I cry bullshit. He was lying to the mom.
my question is why would the mother send someone she doesn't know too well...I definitely would have my mom or husbands mom to pick her up or a really good friend who knows my daughter well
Its a true story so not open to interpretation, she wasn't raped. She told the story to someone at some point.
shirokishibe then what was up with the doll sitting in a pool of blood?
"innocence lost"
I think the point was that the guy was never really "good". The mom caught the vibe & came to the realization in the end that she entrusted her daughter's life to someone who harmed her. Great story and very nicely done. Well acted.
When the fucking red car passed I pissed myself
+Credit card haha same
I actually screamed out loud.
me.too. >w
SAMEE 😒
me too
You know some guy has been chasing me let me just rest here in the middle of nowhere casually drink some water
***** Great Idea!
Hahaha..seriously! And also instead of running towards some home cuzi think someone's stalking me.lets run into the woods..its safer
***** Right! And what is that about the ending? Makes no sense. So I will end the movie in the proper way.She escapes and makes it back home safely.
ikr
Kaitlyn Cookie looked like lean to me.
this is why kids should take Self Defence classes.
There's actually some evidence that self defense for kids doesn't really keep them any safer.

The beginning was so sad; you conveyed her loneliness and isolation so well that I almost stopped the video. Very very well done, bravo.
This girl is a really good actor
actress
Calvin Andersen yes she is
Much appreciated ❤

so if the mom doesn't pick her up from the bus stop, does that mean she usually would walk that creepy, long way home alone???
The mom tells the policeman she usually picks her daughter up, right? Can't be that certain if the girl is texting her mom to ask if she's picking her up from the bus stop. That would imply that the girl isn't assured that her mom will be there. Maybe she has had to walk home sometimes. Maybe her mom has arranged for someone else to be there in the past.
Did you see how fat her mom was, i doubt she would pick up even the groceries .
Siriam R, looks like picking up groceries is no problem at all for her mom. It's putting a fork down she's having a struggle with!
Sriram R I see fat people shopping all the time. They don't know they're fat.
THAT IS SOO RUDE, FUCKING RUDE
People say stuff like this is not that scary besides the jump scare, but if you are a parent then this is a nightmare. the very scary thing about this is that stuff like this happens so often and authorities are often too late.
Edit: the mom in the film is stronger than me because i wound not be able to survive loosing a child.
NinthArcher you and me both... I would need to be institutionalized for life if something happened to my son (God forbid) 🙏🏻🇨🇦❤️
first it's scary, then the twist just makes it tragic.
its weird, but i found the jump scare to be rather comforting; it tells us she didn't die after all
Fabulous Fabe
i'm talking about the girl IN THE MOVIE
I'm pretty sure she does, I believe that was before she died.

JUST LET THE MAN DREAM
***** nah fam
Apparently, the man found the unconcious body of the girl after falling and hitting her head on a stone and raped her thinking she was already dead, that is why the doll appears with no clothes and with blood coming out her private parts. In the end the girl is not dead, she wakes up screaming because she feels so much pain and kind of knows what happened. After this kind of experience, a person goes into a big trauma and has issues for the rest of her/his life. Rapists and pedophiles destroy so many human souls and make their lifes a big nightmare. Maybe it is more comforting to think that she died and her soul now is free to go somewhere better.
After all that...to throw in a cheap jump scare at the end....I expected better from you, film.
Haha coz u got, scared
@@hizzie4122 lol i bet he did.... roflol... I thought it was a good short film

Yes true pssible
This girl is always losing things.
I know right! First her earpiece, then her phone. I mean, what's next, the shoes on her feet?!?
+Animalgirl I was thinking the same while watching it. But he phone was gone first, then her piece.
her virginity😢 her innocence

No, but her bottle
@Blue Dog Hey idiot do u even know anything about parenting..
That car horn at 5:20 had me shitting on my pants.DAMNN.
AGREED I Was Like...Are You Trying To Give Me A Fucking Heart Attack? SHAME ON YOU...😠😡
My observations as I watched:
The girl asks her mother, whether she will be at the bus stop, which indicates it isn't always the case and sometimes the girl has to walk home alone.
Oh well, good try, I guess.
ana godinez I did read the description, that is why I was wondering about the ending, lol. It is indeed sad that she died in real life, though. :(
Duskygrass
it's to represent the pain she felt, including the doll bleeding from it's privates.
Duskygrass- How does a lone toy doll, eventually with short hair, prove/show she was raped? Sorry, not saying your wrong, or anything, I just don't know.
HMHH Hhh I think the doll got naked and it represented that she was raped.
HMHH Hhh and also u can see the doll's lady part bleeding. So yea
Bullying, one of most scariest think from this days.
2:06 What kinda bus driver lets a young girl ON HER OWN get off the bus in the middle of nowhere??????
GOSH WAS IT NECESSARY TO PUT THAT SCENE IN THE END
Brilliant! Been a horror movie fan for several decades (since childhood), and always love a good scare--on film anyway, and this one did that for me. Awesome! Keep up the great work! Love British horror especially! 👌👍✊👏
I feel the lack of sound could have been more utilised, but still very good!
Powerfool as someone with a hearing loss in both ears. This is actually very well utilized. Everything is muffled and you hear more background noise over everything.
Hes obviously lying, he said that she "just vanished" when we see that he chased her and he knew where she was
Why? Just tell me why they always run into the woods? I saw a house there!
Yup same it annoys me if I saw a van I would run in someone house
not in the script
@@frankhernandez6883 hahaha.. yes
Really enjoyed it. The way it was shot is what i like the most. Filmmakers got style
Jesus Christ
I think he rape her after he found her unconscious. It makes more sense to me cos she wasn’t scared wen the blue van first went by when she was stood by the side of the road.
@@jayforpay7774 m
Ava Cado I think you’re right.
I think you got it right or the doll scenes would have made no sense to be in the movie short. Well done.
The accompanying mic work was good too 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Incredibly well done! Great acting on the girl's part, perfect timing with the music too.
Wish I knew what happened to her after she woke up in the forest.
she got home as this is based on a true story so her story got out, which means she survived
Wow! What a twist! Awesome! That young lady was also awesome! Great cinematography! Loved it! Nice job! Keep it up!!
I am totally confused with the ending.
When he was describing what happened he didn't mention he ran after her into the woods, and she went to that old house or old place. Why? Did he do something to the girl? And, at @18:36, what exactly happened?
he raped her and left her for dead
hi, what camera was used for this shoot? good color grading.
That jump scare was cheap and unnecessary.
Haha, I got to this comment JUST as it happened!
sameeeeee
got you though didn't it XD
I agree, jump-scares are for the shorts with no plot.... guy and girlfriend on the sofa watching a movie, stupid stuff like that. It kind of took away from how well this was done
The jumpscares were actually good in this. No loud sound effect for no reason.
I love it! Great colors, great shots, good construction of tension, great sound effects. Congratulations for the work (:
THIS WAS SUCH A GREAT FILM! twists, turns, silence and tons to say all at the same time - great job!
How come the title says this is based on a true story and yet the disclaimer at the end says this is fictional and characters not real? WTF?
To attract views, ofcourse, the internet is full of lies. :)
Although, in the description the true parts are mentioned.
"This is based on a true story, about an incident involving a school girl who was stalked by a molester/killer as she walked home alone after a day out with friends.
"
lol, it's a fictionalized true story. :)
It's because they changed the names and looks of the characters so that it wouldn't show who this really happened to.
William Eamon
THIS story is fictional, but it's BASED on a true story. It's a fictional story that is based on a true story.
Is that too hard to understand? Is it really that difficult? Do you know what the word "based" means?
screencraft.org/2013/04/17/based-true-story-fact-vs-fiction-screenwriting/
"As writers, we should all know that words matter and that there is indeed a difference between claiming that your script is “A true story”, “Based on a true story”, “Inspired by a true story”, or some other variation. Understand what you’re saying and how audiences will interpret them."
I'm just pointing out that they might want to change the wording or clarify because it's not clear.
If someone was chasing me, not only would I be flying like the fucking wind, I would be vaulting that fence like I was a god damn Olympian don't come at me with that "can't get over the fence" bullshit

Hi whatever happened to the girl and did that guy do it the old man
Not so sure if I'm right so correct me if I'm wrong.
That frigging red car!!! It got me!!
I fuckin almost died when that red car came by and honked the horn.. fuckin car 😒😭😂
Hahahah
Good intentions is the best I could say. That awkward grab through the broken window, those jump-scares, those scenes of the dolls that has no connection with nothing...
she can't seem to hold on to any of her belongings that she is so desperately in need of!
Same 😂
So true!!!
Yeah, but this chick left her cell phone on the bus, and she wasn't careful enough with her hearing aid. Those are the things that's going to help her ass out with her deaf situation!!!
Kimberly Florey ikr!
puntin princess perhaps it was a way of showing that she has “ lost touch “ with any one who could help her.
Melina same here! And found this really made my heart jumped! Very nice work
Genuinely creepy. I did have the odd feeling throughout that he meant her no harm, but I didn't know for sure, and that juxtaposition is what brings a psychological edge to the horror. Very atmospheric and well done.
actually im pretty sure he raped her. thats why the doll at the end was bleeding out of its lady parts, the mom didn't touch his hand
william miller um...no. LOL, I don't think so.
Then I'm curious to know what your interpretation of the dolls scene is...
Gwendy0925 I'd have to rewatch the film, it's been a while. I'll try to get back to you on that.
I will always believe that those whose life ended in violence, and never found, their souls will never rest until their bodies are found and the killer is brought to justice.
holy crap i jumped out of my skin at the end
lol
jumpscare sucks....
reasei pecie lol
TheOneAndOnlyNinja1 I am 50 but it was fine with me.
reasei pecie I don’t get it🤷🏽♀️💀
It is a painful end to a lovely kid.
Not bad. But what would've made it more natural would be to have no score and only ambient sounds.
Great shots of the woods & the sounds & colours were very vivid... very well done!
As it went through I kept thinking, "What is she going to loose next?" and then by min 14, I realized, well... her life, probably.
Twas breathtaking! I feel sad for the girl. Really she don't deserve that.
This is based on a true story, about an incident involving a school girl who was stalked by a molester/killer as she walked home alone after a day out with friends. Two weeks after this a young girl was found decapitated in the woodlands where this took place.
Had this on my list for so long...glad I finally watched it. Great film!
this film is so scary and stressful, specialy when you known it's based on a true story...poor girl...:(
😲creepy as heck, and the audio is awesome even though I've only got one side of my headphones working😁well made film
Retro elegant horror, without guts and carnage. Very well done. The thing that grabbed my attention though, was the visually breathtaking scenery. Beautiful.
Diane Winchester Also the tranquil birdsong.
The ending is nonsensical and totally disconnected in feel, tone and atmosphere to the rest of the story. Everything preceding the final scene is excellent.
im getting chase by a killer but let me stop so I can get a sip of my juice...
ebony taylor 😂😂😂😂
But when she dropped it, it looked like just mineral water to me......
Superb quality: cinematography, acting, sound effects, everything.
Ok here's the complete story people lol, The girl repeating to the doll the same song lyrics to the doll, he to repeated that is being played loudly in van metaphorically or not confirmed rape(molestation) cutting the innocence from her youth as an infant by a fathers sick friend with a doll representing her
He did find her unconscious and rapped her one last time(cutting dolls hair and blood), the song says loving you for ever and ever and something about meeting again.
He has the alibi
For cop and "Debs" Letting us know with the use of a nick name for the mum he'd known her a long time and that she doesn't believe his statement made was honest and is not liking him for obvious reasons.
So was he a killer? Or was he just trying to pick her up? Or was he meant to be picking her up but had other intentions?
Great job, losing children is always scary.
Why everyone in the bus were red-haired?
Ginger fest.
Metalkid1500 this made me spill my drink good one
Ireland?
Because it’s the UK... there is also
A phenomenon called “ginger clustering”(look it up) often times you see one of us you see a bunch.., plus as I said, the UK houses the majority of gingers that make up the 2% of the population 🙏🏻🇨🇦❤️
It was a bus for only red-headed step children, of course!
Very well done. My only issue(Small one) was with her jumping up screaming at the end. Plus this was more on the drama side of the fence then horror. But I really did love the film, excellent job.
OMFG WHEN THE RED CAR CAME
I LITERALLY SHIVERED
I jumped and yelled "FUCK!!!" It's 3 AM and I'm pretty sure my downstairs neighbor is pissed at me.
Sexual abuse among the disabled individuals are far too common. I am a survivor. I am deaf, too. Btw, good film.
So the girl was never found or what? I haven't read that story
Great writing when it cause us to do some critical thinking...Thanks for the upload!
i don't get it at all? can someone tell me? it seems all films are either too obviously suggestive or not suggestive enough (for me)
Amazing!! Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Loved the doll idea, hated the jump scare.
The bleeding doll scene could have done a perfect ending, nice job.
Isa I think am gonna hire u as a director in my movie story...😍💋✋
Wow that was great!!
I loved it, well done! I'm looking forward to your next film.
Did she survive is there a part 2?
she couldn't hear him even if he said something
But she didn't lose her hearing aide until later (._.) Unless she turned it off?
She took it out on the bus.
she put it back in then lost it in the woods when here hair got caught u can see it laying on the floor plus she grabbed for her ear to check also
The mom send her a message but she forgot her phone on the bus.
the production and cinematography were on point, super clean very consistant! -=]
"Running from your life from Shia LaBeouf"
What's creepier -the guy or that fucking spooky ass house?? Nope. Wouldn't have gone in there!
Scary film. Great job
I think i got it, was the doll supposed to represent her? and the dude in the blue van had like an insane perverted obsession with her?
This is how lack of attention to the smallest details escalates into disaster. All in life is details.
Did the ending scare anyone else?
Burgandee Iris
Nope. Just a distasteful jump scare. Very cheesy and unnecessary. It totally lowered the film's quality. Annoying as hell.
I'm an animation major with an
interest in post-production and editing, and I am looking to create a
series of trailers and/or title sequences for several short horror
films. I would really love to use your guys' film as one of them! I can
assure you that it is merely for academic purposes and it will not be
monetized in any way. I am doing this to demonstrate how to develop
promotional material, tell a succinct, engaging story to captivate
audiences, and to create atmosphere and evoke emotion. If you decline
permission, I completely understand. But I would really like to use your
film, as I think it is quite interesting and would be perfect as a trailer/title sequence! Of course, I will give everyone involved credit in
the final product!
Gripping, loved the music and it looked gorgeous!
Dani Pepi I
where was it filmed? so beautiful
I like to believe that she woke up in pain, and had a hard time calming down, then got up, and staggered home.
Sadly this is a horror story that happens everyday everywhere worldwide.
