As a Savannah native, I can honestly say that the Bananas made this town a better place to live.
Only been there a couple of times, but Savannah's always been one my favorite places to go. Now I gotta go back to see a Bananas game.
What have they done about the crime rate?

It's sad you live in such a beautiful town rich in history and some clowns doing tricks on a ball field is what endears Savannah to you.
@@904jagzsuck5 oh yes, because when you live in a town that has a lot of history that’s just all you do. Talk, sleep and eat history. Sure it’s cool to know the history of your city and savanna definitely has a lot of American history but why would the history of a town make it a nice place to live in? You need stuff like a fun collegiate summer baseball team to go for fun.
The showmanship of the Harlem Globetrotters, the style of And-One, and the comedy of the Pittsburgh Pirates, all in one.

You can call this guy a genius at marketing but I think he is a student of humanity. He has fun at life and just wants others to enjoy that fun in their lives and to bring everyone of all types together...Outstanding! I am glad there are people like this in the world.

@@rbu2136 They got the idea from Wrigley Rooftops where your ticket is all inclusive all you can eat food and all you can drink beer and wine. Aside from the long view it’s a deal at around $120.

Saw my first Bananas game this weekend (they played Macon Bacon) and was amazed at the show. It was great. The Banana Nanas were awesome. It made a baseball game into an event. That's the way it should be.

I love the story of this team. I went to a Bananas game with my sister (who lives in Savannah) last season. I especially dug how there was every type of demographic in the crowd. Young, old, and people of all types. Amazing time.

I cannot lie… this concept and, in particular, this team’s spark has reignited my love for baseball all over again. It won’t be too long that this will absolutely blow up and spread into a common household theme for spectator sports.
Our family attended a game last night and the one word that best describes what we
experienced was a "circus". From the line waiting to enter the stadium until we left
the stadium after the game, there's was some form of entertainment. They even had a
pep band that played the national anthem and walked up into the stands at one point to
play a song. Our home town stadium was a sell out crowd and the atmosphere was
electric. We didn't even care who won. It was all about seeing what was coming next.
Great show planning and energy. Keep up the good work.
They do it right. Seriously it's a spectacle. If you can go, GO! Inexpensive good ballpark food and the games are competitive.

@@bamaking45 No it's not but if you want to forget and just enjoy the game, you can actually sense children's memories being made and falling in love with the Bananas. It makes me think back when the Sand Gnats was in town and how I feel in love with the Sand Gnats. I'm not trying to contradict myself but this is baseball with an entertainment twist to it.
Bananas proved that this is a baseball market and do something unheard of which is a two baseball franchises sharing the same stadium. MiLB shouldn't even worry about Grayson Stadium being the oldest stadium in MiLB again when they are getting revenue. Grayson Stadium isn't going anywhere and Savannah is a huge, thriving baseball market. I would love to see the Sand Gnats come back but underneath the Braves organization umbrella.

In terms of creativity, promotion and how they understand it's all about the fans who want to have a good time, the Savannah Bananas are probably one of the best baseball clubs in the US. Some clubs are very creative promotion-wise and yet the Savannah Bananas are next-level in terms of creativity.
I went to see pro baseball games in Japan and Korea, and they are absolute pros in Asia at making a baseball game full of fun and cheers. Local and visiting fans got whole cheering sections with brass bands.

Love it!! I wonder how he got the players to buy into his plan. From my understanding, baseball players are all about tradition and the "unwritten rules" of baseball. Players dancing? Players showing emotion? PLAYERS HAVING FUN? The "Game of baseball" taking a back seat to entertainment? Some of my friends have gone to MLB games since the season started and left before the 7th inning stretch because they were bored to tears. This makes me WANT to go to a Banana's game...

Our dad has told us so much about Savannah Bananas... we even call "Savannah Banana!" when we are at a game and someone hits a foul ball, and we try to catch it so we can pretend the batter is out! We would LOVE to see a game!

I have a really interesting rule change to try. Flip first and third base direction every other inning or just do it once in the 5th inning. Baseball is so right/left handed that this switch will really mix up the game!

Macon, Georgia is 165 miles north of Savannah & our baseball team is the Macon Bacon.
And yes, our bacon mascot is Kevin Bacon.
Our old hockey team was the Macon Whoopee.
It's Macon Mayhem now, which isn't as fun.

I live in Milwaukee & haven't been to a ball game in many years. Last was Chicago White Sox vs Cleveland Indians. Expensive, kinda boring & not a fun CTA ride. The new stadium is 6000 tons of concrete that soaks up the sun & melts you. Now I wanna take a trip to Savannah & experience this team & try some Low Country cooking.

Bananas are the only reason I will go there. 58, live in beautiful SEGA and have NEVER Liked Savannah. Savannah makes me very uncomfortable Brunswick Golden Isles is just about as big and it is home even though I don't work there I never feel uncomfortable in Glynn County LOL the cops suck
