  • @RandyFricke
    @RandyFricke 2 года назад +8

    GENIUS!
    Not only does he throw off the hitter's timing, the bat is not meeting that slow of a pitch with nearly as much counter force as it does with upper speed pitches.
    One of the very first things I learned in Little League was to basically not even swing hard at a pitch at all but just stick my bat out and let the ball essentially bounce off of the bat.
    Doing that I was able to pop a hit just over the heads of the infielders pretty much at will. I was always a fast runner so I would steal second and third base then the next hit brought me home.

    What would be really cool is if a pitcher could have a wide speed range on all pitches. For example, throw a 90mph fastball and then a 70 mph fastball. Or a change up in the 80s and then drop to a change up in the 50s. You'd always have the hitters guessing. I've never seen an actual pitcher really be able to do that.
