Aww Lucy. Sitting here on crutches after serious knee surgery last Friday I cried through most of that. What a brilliant video first if all. Here is your Oscar 🏆haha. But mainly just so inspired by you and proud of your determination and grit. I think I’ll be watching this on repeat on dark days. Long distance Tri dreams may be out the window but I’m going to try tk keep them alive or find a new angle somehow. So so so so well done. From screwing a squirrel house on the fence with the drill the wrong way round and painting by numbers and sticking a biro in your eye to this triumph. CONGRATULATIONS. You are my absolute inspiration.

Having been thru multiple injuries and a combined time of years not able to move doing the things I love I wish you a speedy recovery and the promise that when you so get back to doing it he things you live it will feel like the first time all over again with the same amount of theoll and excitement.

The best piece of the aero kit for me are the Aerobars. They are conducive for the technical and hilly courses of triathlons, saving energy and time 😄.
The best piece of aero kit will always be the aero helmets. The white ones specifically. All my friends tell me that they look stupid, but they don't realize that those helmets look exactly like the ones the rebels wear in the first Star Wars movie.
You fell for that marketing bullshit didn’t ya. You are their favourite consumer because of your naivety. Aero helmet means as much as pissing into the wind.
Can have all the “aero helmet” “ skin suit” socks the whole show but if your position on the bike is shit then you ain’t travelling anywhere very fast and that equipment means piss all..
I did a 46km ITT yesterday in 64mins. Nothing but a normal helmet, socks and a Tri suit and no specific TT training in 2 years on a borrowed bike that costed a friend of mine $1000 bucks.. Only thing changed was the seat height and positioning and turns out the position was half decent. Flat as a pancake course that was pretty windy. Expensive kit and bikes means less than less if one you can’t ride because you’re fitness is shit and two your position on your current set up is crap..
Companies use athletes like Lucy Charles to advocate for certain products because she makes them look fast and it’s what draws people in to buy yet.
Be the person who spends 10k on everything else but the “pretty crap” because ultimately that’s what is going to make you faster.

My boys watched the video with me and were amazed by the first 2 minutes. Thank you for sharing that. Everyone knows that the best part of aero kit is the helmet because it looks badass in the race and like a unicorn when on backwards, and that is very special.
I watched your finish with tears in my eyes: so great to see you are back and in such a fantastisch way! My favourite piece of aero kit are my aero socks. I am not sure if their materials/shape actually make much of a difference, but I feel awesome in them and I know that that feeling helps me go faster :)

Congrats on the win but most importantly the lesson for us all on injury rehab. For us AG's there is no reason to rush the process and you showed that with your disciplined approach. My favorite aero accessory is my TriRig Scoops. They have helped me stay in the aero position while only coming out for climbing and corners. All the best for you and Reece in your next race season. As for my favorite piece of aero equipment, it is the bike! Without the proper fit and long rides in aero are not possible. I am still looking for my pink aero helmet.

Will not surprise anyone. Aero helmet is my choice. The most significant improvement with almost no effort. Best price to improvement ratio. Glad to see you back stronger than before 🙌🏻

Fantastic Come back Lucy. I am so happy for you. Years ago I had a fractured femur After 3 pens put in they said I should never run. After a year I decided they were wrong so I kept running. I'm 64 years old running a 1/2 marathons and cycling It keeps me young. Thank you for taking us on your adventure. I must say it's hard to pick a piece of your kit that I don't absolutely love. But that helmet is sweet. Keep doing what you're doing. You are such an inspiration. And love the puppy too.
I’ve been severely ill and unable to properly train since April and I’m waiting on surgery to diagnose the issue but this comeback series has just fuelled my motivation for when I’m able to get back to training

Congratulations on the comeback Lucy! Loved the huge cheer the crowd gave you when your name was announced at the start line, and the smile and wave you gave showed just how pleased you were to be back racing! Favourite bit of aero kit is the new style aerobars. After the race I stood in transition for about 5 minutes looking at your bike!! The new moulded aerobars look amazing (and comfortable) and I definitely laughed (and took a photo to share with mates) when I saw the wahoo was on auto pause at 1:58:26 - a fair bit quicker than my time! Given how tough that headwind was back into town, the old saying of #aeroiseverything was completely true in Slovakia! 🇸🇰
The most stunning piece, besides the hole kit, is definitely the design and structure of the wheels! Only sat on the bike once in a store and can only dream of owning one. Would be even more special if it came from you. :)

Great work! My own body size and shape is my favorite aero kit. The hard work to loose weight and slim down has made more aero gains then anything I have that bolts on.
My favorite peice of the aero kit is definitley the skin suit becuase it's heavily customizable, so it can show some of your personality while making you extra speedy. It is so great to see all of your hard work paying off! Congratulations on an amazing win! #battlebraids

Your videos are inspiring as always! I broke my arm on a training ride a couple months back, and I struggled to get back to form-injuries take such a mental toll, too. Watching you come back strong is keeping me focused on my first 70.3 next month!
My favorite piece of aero kit is surprisingly simple: a top tube stem bag. I neglected my nutrition early on and paid for it at the end of rides. Now with the stem bag, I have a constant (aero) reminder to keep fueling.

Favorite piece of aero kit has to be the wheelset. Noticed a huge boost when I first got into triathlon a couple years ago when I swapped out to a new wheelset. Super inspiring video. I had a blood clot 5 years back & didn't know if I would be able to race/train. Now my next race is the World Champs in St. George. Always inspiring to see what people go through to get healthy after a setback. We're really all in it together.
Favourite aero kit- Epilady/razor, nothing makes you feel such difference to you feeling faster in the water,on the bike and on the run. Congratulations LCB on such a formidable performance on you comeback.

The best piece of aero kit has to be simply has to be my two piece suit. As the first piece of equipment, you get on a tight budget, it sticks a long time and for sure gives a feeling of professionalism.

I’m an older athlete who has overcome a full Achilles rupture, dislocated and surgically repaired shoulder, and a reconstructed right ankle. I too consider myself fortunate to again be racing and healthy and look forward to seeing you in St George! Hopefully we won’t have a surprise hurricane this time around!

I "devoured" this video that gave me a lot of energy to get back to training for my third ironman after a period of a sort of "sports Burnout" which has lasted for almost a year now. As for the piece of aero kit, I would say my favorite is a disc wheel because one day I also dream of being able to push one for 180 km!

I woke up in the wee hours of the morning New York City time to watch the ITU Long Distance Championship race live to see the come back in real time. I got chills watching you come down the finish chute and got chills once again watching this video. So excited for you that you’re back and managed the injury so well with the support of Reece and your team!!
My favorite piece of aero kit would have to be aero bars - they were the first thing I added to my first ever road bike to work onto more serious racing and they really made the biggest difference for arm/wrist pressure/comfort but also my positioning.
You are a huge inspiration to me and I can’t wait to follow along for your next race!!
Welcome back champ! As for the giveaway, my favorite is the trisuit. So much underestimated and thus so much affecting the total aero performance on the bike but also on the other two disciplines.

My favourite piece of aero kit has to be my somewhat old now, S Works Venge. From the seriously aero position, flat-bladed bar and ergo-shaped drop as well as everything being integrated without cables. Most of all, it super fast. I am not fussed that its seen a few birthdays, its still one of the nicest aero bikes around - even today.
Crying tears of happy joy on the trainer between intervals 😭 so emotional watching you come back, I resonate from being off myself having foot surgery last year, in a cast, cycling with one leg and picking up another hobby - legos😂😂 Love seeing my favorite athlete prosper once again, knowing you are being extra cautious and soaking everything in and not taking one moment for granted. Hope to watch you dominate at st George again. Oh and my favorite piece of aero would have to be my aero race kit. Nothing like a skin tight suit to make you feel super speedy💨

My favourite piece of aero are probably the TT extentions, i love how you can customice them to get even more aero and how you can also use them for nutrition, as a build in drink system.
Having had a hip injury which ended my gymnastics career I know how hard and scary it can be getting back in sports. In the end it got me into swim and eventually triathlons so I guess everything happens for a reason. Congrats for all the hard work and effort u put in!!!

It’s so great to see you back Lucy! As a beginner triathlete I have been following your journey and you are such an inspiration. My favorite piece of aero equipment would be the drink bottle. I’m learning how important nutrition and hydration are to training and a race. Not having it dialed in can make or break a race and the systems available out there today help to keep us in aero without compromising valuable hydration. Keep up the great work Lucy!
Hi Lucy, I am 17 years old and, I suffered the same injury as you, in the same week! Twins :) It has been really inspiring and motivating to watch your channel while I've also been recovering. I love how you shared with us your journey at red bull and how you started to incorporate biking and swimming. I am a runner so I don't usually bike and swim however, cross training has been my best friend. I just use my brothers mountain bike but road bikes are awesome, I use one at my gym. My favourite product is the kickr axis so I can ride from home at any time of the day. I also purchased the turbo connect display from specialised so I could track my rides additional to my watch. Congratulations on your race! Can't wait to see you smash it throughout the second half of this year. This injury has definitely been a learning curve but I will definitely be cross training even when I'm back to peak running.
The best piece of aero is the skinsuit. Fancy textiles and wavy fabrics have taking the possibilities to new levels!

My favourite piece of aero equipment are the aero bars - not only do they provide the aero advantage (and you get to look really cool), but with lingering wrist issues from a car vs me crash years ago, I find it way more comfortable to ride in aero!
