Lucy sincerely credits an “entire team of people,” but at the beginning and end of each day Team Charles-Barclay consists of Lucy, Reece and Lola, and what a team they are. Congratulations to the three of you!
A lot of people think being an Ironman athlete, especially out of this kind of dedication, is crazy. I think you’re INCREDIBLE for being such a strong athlete. I think you’re CRAZY for getting in the tub with socks on.
In all seriousness, though, congratulations on an incredible, amazing, INSPIRING recovery and performance. Watching your road leading to Kona has been nothing short of awe-inspiring, and I’m so grateful you decided to share it with us.

This was an excellent summary of the race. As my wife and I are LCB fans we have watched all the videos detailing the injury and rehabilitation and then we actually watched the Pro Women's Race at Kona live on RUclips. While this is admittedly not a viewer-friendly event unless you are prepared to spend some serious time spectating, we were enthralled by Lucy's performance. Old and slow myself, I have just completed the Red Bull Lucy Challenge on Strava, a 70.3 event that I did in, oh, several days, but you can't but help be inspired by that great race in Hawaii. On to St. George and another World Championship!

Congrats Lucy . As an endurance athlete for 50 years dealing with injury involves patience but also positive attitude. It’s easy to feel sorry for yourself but that is wasted energy. You focused on what you can do not what you can’t do!

You inspire and help us who will never be world class but get out there to challenge ourselves, get injured and push ourselves. The important race message I take is focus on yourself, don't allow extraneous thoughts or what others are doing affect what you are doing, believe in your own process and how you are feeling.
