Allison being the fastest and Ranger (Forrest Wood years) being the best built and most fishable, you've said alot by making the top 5 boats at least leaning toward Allison when it comes to speed. I like the top 5 even though I own an Allison, I do admit to sacrificing some fishabilty in favor of top level ride and performance.
Now I don't want all of you to be jealous, but I have a 1988 Bass Tracker 1800TF with a 150 HP 2000 Evinrude Ficht. I was saving it for a museum to buy from me, but I could be convinced to trade it even up for any boat on this list. I have that much kindness in my heart. I call it my floating YUGO.

Although it has not helped me in my career "telling it like it is" to folks or supervisors........I appreciate your "telling it like it is" in your videos! Keep up the good work!
As a new owner of a Vexus AVX 2080 I rode in every aluminum I could and the ride was equal to if not better than a lot of fiberglass boats I’ve road in. It rides high and handles rough water exceptionally well (very important in walleye boat country in South Dakota). With that being said the VX20 is an absolute beast…by far the best ride I’ve ever experienced. If you haven’t rode in one yet, you need to…you’ll never look at bass boats the same.
Is that Gerry Joosta’s boat? I fished several National Championships and the 2005 Classic with him, great guy. I think that boat was an exact copy of a 320 Ranger
Enjoyed the video....I have been shopping around for 2 yrs for a new boat...I liked the Phoenix but not enough leg room....the top 3 too expensive. I bought 2021 demo Z520L....I like it, 70 to 72mph is fine, big front deck and storage. I agree with you on the bass pro purchase, but I have a dealer, mare marine in Virginia that takes care of me. Workmanship on any brand will have it faults just like cars but a repatial dealer will help you. Keep up the great work...I enjoy your videos and agree with you 98% of the time!
If someone could give me a legitimate reason outside of “speed” why you wouldn’t buy a ranger I’d like to hear it. A boat that will still run 74mph for some reason is considered slow idk.. the only downfall I see with ranger is who owns ranger now.

Ranger Z521R. It’s an all new hull making it 5mph faster, fits dual graphs at the console without any mods, removable pass console, deeper storage. Now I agree White Water Marine is hurting the industry but all bias aside, this brand new Ranger model is impressive.

Dude, love your honesty and videos. Now, I need you to do a video. Your opinion, your hard earned money, what new boat”22’” would you buy. I realize that this video may answer that question but still.
Can you go into about detail what or why Ranger is not worthy of this list? It seems like there was a point that they might have been but you have a changed opinion of Ranger. I am curious of the specific reasons since I am in the market to buy a 1-2 yr old tournament boat.
@@TeamMarineService Ahh ok I thought Earl was pretty big in the industry, even if he seems to sell out when he builds the the brand up. Me i just have a old junky 2001 Javelin Venom with more electronics on it than the boats worth 🤣
We just do not have enough hands on time with any new Chargers. And based off of the old models No they do not make the list. Just our opinion, however we have talked with them and do like direction they're heading
@@TeamMarineService I know. there aren't many around yet. I never cared for the old ones either. ProGaotor is an interesting boat company. You should do a video on them. They don't look like much but their 20 and 21 footers are beasts on Toledo Bend. I am a confessed Champ homer and no other boat has impressed me as much on the Bend. The rumor is that they taught the Legend guys how to build their boats. They have a 10 year "stump" warranty on their hulls that they actually honor.
Xpress X19. Was the only ones still makin high performance aluminum pad hull bass boats....until some makers caught back on and started making em again. X19 can hang a 200 (legitimately) and get up to mid 70s. Reflash a 200 yammie SHO to 300 and it can get up to mid 80s....in a TIN.
Strike - I own a 22'. Going on 2 years straight. Wouldn't go back glass no matter what strictly due to the safety aspect. It's a bassin battleship, it'll get me home.
Another great review Andy. What do you think of the Bass Cat Puma STS? Have you driven one? I was at my boat guys business and asked him about one. He said there a great boat that handled well and the rides very good. Said he can't get one because the orders for it are high.
On Facebook Bass Cat shows a few pictures of boat builds. Bass Cat Boats by serial number! The new Puma STS has jumped in front. But for me if I have the storage room it would be a Cougar Hybred!
I have a 2007 2200 Gambler with a 2017 250 Pro XS and I would not trade my boat for anything on your list below the top 4.......I still get people asking me if my boat is new and there jaw hits the floor when I say its 15 years old. That's what happens when you purchase quality.
I would say stratos but phenix and stratos is basically the same boat. They are built in the same plant and have same switches and lay out. but my top 10 would probably be a caymas cx 21 pro. great boat rode in 1 great ride has the speed and good lay out and storage. Really all you need in a bass boat love the vids man keep it up.
They are not and have never been built in same plant I was there the Phoenix was started by some of the Stratos people but never the same boat in the same plant those are almost fighting words there
Hell I can’t think of one either. Everything else is white river and I sold those for 5 years so I have to make up for that now by letting everyone know they are dumpster fires. (I have hundreds of stories on them) Also RIP Legend V20. The dream boat I never got.
Call me dumb but I’d like to see one of these boat manufacturers create a bass boat that has the same design as one of these 20ft boats but make 16 foot with a 85 HP or 75hp and call it a mini or baby bass for us who fish small and tight places that a 20 footer just can’t reach ? Just a thought but I do love the the list
Is all your Allison distaste because of the older 2003 and 2002 models because, I agree, those are not nearly as easy to fish out of. But if you look at the newer XB21 models those things have the traditional lay out and are all around awesome boats. Tremendous resale, top notch materials, amazing family that owns the company. Very similar characteristics to the Ballistic and Gambler business models that you rave about.
We agree with everything you say about Allison as a company and the XB21 as a boat, but in out opinion they are just so ugly we cannot get past it. Just our opinion
Where I am just the opposite and think they are the most beautiful boats out there and I hate the Gambler look. To each there own. That is why we have options.
What??? An Allison is ugly???? 😄 No they don't look like most other bass boats...and that's OK. Every line and curve on an Ally has a purpose.....even the chitter. If money was no object I'd have a new xb21. As a stroker owner, the consoles/dashes are ugly on those boats......but I kinda overlooked that something with a purpose cause Iiked to go 100mph when conditions allowed. It was still fun passing every ranger and nitro etc, at 80+ back to weigh ins while they are getting pounded by late afternoon rough chop, Trying to go 65 or 70. 😄 The top tier fast boats may look different but it's usually by design and purpose.
Probably because a 198 Elite cost as much as a 21 footer in most other brands. I priced a 198 and was blown away by the price. I could get so much more Skeeter for less money.
Everytime you mention Bullet boats you talk about the 20XD are you just miss-speaking and you mean the 21XRS or even the 21SST. Andy Morgan has been running the 21XRS. If you are not familiar with either of the boats I mentioned please look into them or do a "Deep Dive" and really check them out. Better yet take a ride and do a lifting fishing out of them. You will not be disappointed.
That Gambler may be one of the UGLIEST boats on the market. I agree with the quality but the design is stuck so far behind any other brand. Most tin bass boats have a better look than Gambler does.
Just bought 2022 ranger 518..time will tell, but it certainly seems like a nice well built boat gor the money.and, the wzy I bought it at 40k with a v8..couldn't go wrong
I run a 2013 520C Ranger have had no trouble with this boat at all it’s a pre Johnny Morris boat and Forrest Wood was still involved with the company when this was built. It’s a well made boat. Forrest Wood raised logo on the boat was order with every options you could get. Great fish ability. Also good speed . Totally tournament loaded full of gas 10 ft power poles. Hydraulic jack plate two 220 pound guys 74.7. I have heard all the time that Rangers not worth the money. People say this either can’t afford one or to cheap to buy one. If the 520 r boat is not good let me know but with facts not something you heard. Tel me your experience. Would like to know. Have you been to the factory to see how it’s built
I know a guy whose got one, fished and rode in it many times...barely a 70mph boat. I bought a 13 model skeeter, ran against him in a tournament and smoked him, and won the tournament. Rangers are just too heavy. Now I'll give them some props...my fishing buddy had a 2018 198 with the 225sho that was almost a 70mph boat with 2 guts, and fast out the hole.
Bullet number three because it was cool. Gotcha. Ken smith had bullet as the lowest or near lowest score in his bass boat search. His reason was fishability, among other reasons. Different strokes... lol
He has very strange opinions in my opinion. He’s more focused on the small things that don’t really matter . Just my opinion. He aggravates me I guess.
Looking to buy a new bass boat this year. First boat purchase ever been Kayak bass tournament fishing for the last 4 years and have always wanted a boat. Thank god I’m at a point in my life I can even consider the astronomical prices. Question though what is the normal depreciation on a boat? Is it close to a cars? I see some nice one or two year old boats with balance of factory that are significantly lower than MSRP but I’m afraid something is really wrong with them.
I would like to know how many units are sold per brand. This factors into how many complaints will be levied against such brand. I watch all your reviews (awesome) and the review of the Gatortrax boat, I believe it came out to approximately $90k, for an aluminum boat. How many boats, say compared to Vexus/Express do you think they sell.

Dude, love your honesty and videos. Now, I need you to do a video. Your opinion, your hard earned money, what new boat”22’” would you buy. I realize that this video may answer that question but still.
Our hard earned dollars would go to the 22' gambler elite or the ballistic 223
#10 Skeeter ZXR 20 or 21
Like you, I am an old Champion guy, what are your thoughts on the Challenger Elite series?
Can you go into about detail what or why Ranger is not worthy of this list? It seems like there was a point that they might have been but you have a changed opinion of Ranger. I am curious of the specific reasons since I am in the market to buy a 1-2 yr old tournament boat.
Whats up with Camas?
Though they made good boats?
They just aren't our favorite rigs, we've never been big fans of the Earl Bentz boats. Juat our opinion
@@TeamMarineService
Ahh ok
I thought Earl was pretty big in the industry, even if he seems to sell out when he builds the the brand up.
Me i just have a old junky 2001 Javelin Venom with more electronics on it than the boats worth
🤣
No love for the Charger Elite? They would be above Phoenix in build quality. They should at least make the list.
The new chargers are some pretty nice boats!
I'm Old school, champion 203
Just now watched this vidja 5 months late .. but I kept waiting for charger to get a mention but I don't think it did .. wat up wit dat mane!?
BassCat Puma STS is worth considering for #10. It shoild move up in the years to come.
Shoot it should be considered for #1
It was #5
@@aaronetheridge3735 I thought he picked the Cougar FTD for #5...
@@kevinneeley7331 you’re right. I guess I meant he put Bass Cat at #5. He placed a different brand in each spot.
My number one will always be my 2007 210 Champion...
I have a 2007 2200 Gambler with a 2017 250 Pro XS and I would not trade my boat for anything on your list below the top 4.......I still get people asking me if my boat is new and there jaw hits the floor when I say its 15 years old. That's what happens when you purchase quality.
Heck yeah Scott!!! You are 100% correct
Love the vids bro. Speed money no brakes forever
Thanks buddy!
They are not and have never been built in same plant I was there the Phoenix was started by some of the Stratos people but never the same boat in the same plant those are almost fighting words there
#5 is the best that BassCat can do? Geez....what manufacturer uses better products building their boats?
No one. Pretty sure Andy still upset he didn't get that call back from Rick for that over under video
Hell I can’t think of one either. Everything else is white river and I sold those for 5 years so I have to make up for that now by letting everyone know they are dumpster fires. (I have hundreds of stories on them)
Also RIP Legend V20.
A buddy of mine had as Allison and it was definitely high quality. A little odd but definitely high quality.
Number 10- the ole tube with netting for a fishing chair
Xpress X21 great boat love mine
We've heard a ton of positive chatter on that rig but also A LOT of horror stories on it as well
@@TeamMarineService Please share the whore story
@@TeamMarineService I like them but they have no inside rubber edge sealing around their compartment so a ton of water leaks inside them.
@@TeamMarineService glad I'm not alone
Where I am just the opposite and think they are the most beautiful boats out there and I hate the Gambler look. To each there own. That is why we have options.
That's just a nice way of saying an ally will scare the S#it outta me. Lol
What??? An Allison is ugly???? 😄
No they don't look like most other bass boats...and that's OK.
The top tier fast boats may look different but it's usually by design and purpose.
Id put gator Trax higher than Skeeter and Phoenix because its a super high quality boat that is custom built to exactly what you want.
Knowing Andy's love for champion, Im very surprised Charger didn't make this list easily....
Probably because a 198 Elite cost as much as a 21 footer in most other brands. I priced a 198 and was blown away by the price. I could get so much more Skeeter for less money.
Andy Morgan doesn’t run a 20xd. He runs a 21xrs. Very different boats
Good stuff glastron number 10 ranger number 11🤔. Curious what you think about glastrons👂🤠🧐
Just picked up my Gator Trax Strike 20 a few days ago. I'm thinking of coming up to lacrosse this summer to fish, maybe I can swing by with it.
That Gambler may be one of the UGLIEST boats on the market. I agree with the quality but the design is stuck so far behind any other brand. Most tin bass boats have a better look than Gambler does.
That gambler looks like it’s straight out of 80s nascar styling. Awful
Oh hold up I didn’t notice those were the new ones those look terrible. I thought I was looking at an old gambler with a new motoe
Different strokes... lol
We've seen Ken's videos, we can agree with some of his stuff
He has very strange opinions in my opinion. He’s more focused on the small things that don’t really matter . Just my opinion. He aggravates me I guess.
What is your opinion on Caymas ?
Charger 210 Elite
When are you going to give us an update on the CHAMPION ?
Can you share your opinion on sprint bass boats
What do you think about the new Caymas boats? The old Triton
Vexus would have to be on the list for me as far as quality.
We've seen both high quality and sh*tty quality coming out of that plant. It's confusing
Allison Bassport ! #10 !!!
we need a 2023 and a 2024 top 10 bass boats. when can we see it?
I would like to know how many units are sold per brand. This factors into how many complaints will be levied against such brand.
I watch all your reviews (awesome) and the review of the Gatortrax boat, I believe it came out to approximately $90k, for an aluminum boat.
How many boats, say compared to Vexus/Express do you think they sell.
To a certain extent but that's also part of the problem.
Yes the GT boats are spendy but in our opinion they are the toughest, most innovative tin rigs out there
Give number 10 to the new charger boat
Thank you
No Andy. Give us your number 10 thru 20. I need to hear this! 😎
It was a struggle to come up with 10, there certainly isn't 20! Haha
Number 10 🤷🏼♂️ Vexus no! White river hell no! Caymas 🤔…. Charger, The 210 and 198 elite still lives!!!
My number 10 would be triton TRX 21
Caymas good 10 I believe
Blazer = #1
We love Blazers! 🔥
What Lund for the tin boats?
Why do you hate the Lund prov bass !
Expensive, Slow, 6/10 ride compared to Glass
Would love to know why caymas isn’t up there?
Too many quality control issues and designs that we aren't fans of
I bank fish but saving for a bass boat. What’s so bad with the rangers? I haven’t even considered it, but just want to know
White river marine group boat. They just pump them out. The qc isn't there anymore
What? No Vexus, or Xpress?
Vexus and Xpress has been having some quality control issues as of late.
@@TeamMarineService I didn’t know that. I need to check on that. Thanks 👊🏾
