Your teaching style is perfect for the material, you’re clearly an experienced and excellent teacher. I really appreciate that you build each section up gradually so the student can digest it.
Thanks for this man! I’m playing superstition in a rock band and I’m supposed to end in a solo so thought I’d do something like this, nice to see a lesson to take some ideas from!
Bonham’s ending is more iconic but I think yours is better! :-) I like the way your little drum fills in between your talking becomes a part of your vocabulary.
On point, this was no doubt the one time he played it exactly like this, it happened to be on a record and a rather simplified version to Bonham's level, which still humbles 99% of drummers today. To play this song like Bonham you'd have to sit down and rack your brain endless to every night he performed live with Zep. Why there will never be anyone who can play Zep songs like Bonham, no matter how many copy cats posting vids out there.
I'm not finesse player it used to bother me. But I was fine with being a banger. John Bonham was a banger too. But his shuffle on.fool in the rain. That really hooked me when I was kid.
Thanks. I've always just been guessing all these years. Nice to see how it's done. I dig those left leading triplets so I think I got this. I'll go try it.
Crude yet sober and satisfying, for any bonzo loving fans. I liked your statement meaning the notes might not alwaus govern anytime. 👍 In general, we do research on what someone did, but never on what else one could have done.😄😄😄

Hi, I believe I was using the DW Direct Drive pedal for this video. I really like that pedal. I use a slide technique which works well with most pedals. Maybe I'll do a video on that soon. Thanks so much for watching.
Brilliant just wondering if you show a demonstration of the cross over pattern that John Bonham does at the end of Moby dick live version please if possible, as he didn't do it on the studio version many thanks great rock and roll ending and spot on tuition
I'm not wrong. That is the actual music written by John himself and there are 2 bass drum fills on all 6 of those 16th beat triplets. If you just can't play it, well just be honest enough to say so and teach your students the correct way. Believe me, it is a lot more difficult to play it correctly, but so many wanna be drummers have found this cheating way that sounds close and they can't do it the correct way so they keep on playing and teaching it wrong forever. That choice is all up to you. I'm just sending you the exact music notation in normal speed and 1/8 speed appr... In fact here's another one of the drum outro only from the studio. I have all of their songs on Isolated tracks so I never learned any song incorrectly. ruclips.net/video/POLNS8avoyU/видео.html
Or 'hertas' instead of sweeps and to steal something from another teacher on here.."veryquick (hands), slow (kick), veryquick, slow. I thought that was a good way to explain it
That is exactly what he is NOT playing... I don't know why every drummer on this planet can't HEAR his double 16th notes on his bass drum... Bonham would NEVER play a simple 4 beat riff,,, " snare, floor tom, mounted tom and then 1- bass hit. It's Snare, Floor tom,, Mounted tom and two bass drum notes....NOT ONE!!!!!!!!! LOOK UP THE CORRECT MUSICAL NOTATION FOR THIS AND YOU WILL SEE THAT HE HITS HIS BASS DRUM ""TWO" TIMESS EVERY TIME.... NOT ONE!!!!!
Snare rocks...what a crack. Part of Bonham is getting HIS sound down as well.
Thanks glad you like the sound. It's a Dennis Chambers signature snare. It has a beautiful tone, it's definitely a favorite of mine.
Wow Dale this is such an awesome drum lesson I love it.😃👍❤️🥁

I think Bonham improvised every single time he played haha

@@DG-sf9ei Agreed!!
True
Bonham played naturally. These guys analyze every note and they still sound like amateurs.
