      Yep doing Qi Gong (and now dallying with a bit of Tai Chi too) was the most important thing in helping me heal from depression. They should prescribe this stuff...

    I practice different forms of Qi Gong, some tai chi; and have been exposed to different forms of martial arts. My life really changed, though, when I began practicing telekinesis about 3 years ago. But as I progressed... I realized the importance of combining energy with mind; and so I began to practice different energy forms. I use these as warm ups, especially outside, when trying to connect to the air element and my own biomagnetism.
    I found this video very refreshing, clear, concise, warm, fluid, and gentle... most of the way through.
    You can tell the energy picks up, because the wind begins to blow much more as he does the exercises.
    There are many people out there who pretend after a few classes, that they are instructors. This is not the case here... his body is well proportioned and the muscles are lengthened and he only has enough fat on his body for him to use in case of emergency.
    Excellent video. Thanks

    Hello Sir, My name is Scott. For the last several weeks I have been participating in your tai chi classes and I just wanted to say thank you. Tai chi has helped my martial training so much over the last several weeks. I feel more fluid and less ridged, stronger, more focused not just with training but with my all aspect of my life. Please don't stop teaching.

    Just wanted to give thanks for posting this video I learned today that movements I did years ago I had wrong and took benefit away from myself. I am 45 years old and haven't exercised a muscle in quite a long time on purpose to benefit myself but you inspired me to go back to my long ago taught fundamentals and that we are never too old to reap the benefits of Tai Chi again for posting this I am grateful to you. Xie xie.

    Why do people always say bad things against Jake. Well, for me he is awesome. I gained many benefits just by mimicking his exercises and tai chi moves. My life's better now so thanks a lot Jake.

    • @angrybob3594
      @angrybob3594 5 лет назад +10

      In answer to this question it really comes from the point of view of tradition. Or rather to say Jake does not practice an old form of the art. His art is a modern interpretation. It has a lot of Ying and not too much yang. So great for feeling good, not to bad for initial physical healing. If you look at Jake's physique he is slightly top heavy in muscles. A more martial practitioner would have a greater Yang presence in their lower body. This is often gained because they would be grounded in turns with no lift off of the foot in such moves as brush knee. So I guess the comments are a form of snobbery, mixed with frustration at someone who does not seem to practice the martial form. For example, Jake would benefit his followers by showing the Small San Sau which would give them a Yang exercise that is fairly easy to learn at a basic level. for healing, you have to think of it like this. Ying is tender care that makes things better. Yang will strengthen it to its full facility.

    • @shanewaldron2971
      @shanewaldron2971 5 лет назад +4

      He has poor Taiji yet takes credit like he's a master. If he was just teaching movement and meditation, people probably wouldn't be as mad at him, but what he's doing is giving you a heavily washed down version of a powerful ancient art. He's doing more harm than good to Taiji, especially from a martial arts perspective. I think he just loves himself too much and wants to be rich and famous, personally.

    • @angrybob3594
      @angrybob3594 5 лет назад +4

      @@shanewaldron2971 I think the key to this criticism stems from the form he demonstrates a late variation of Yang Cheng Fu's form. This was very much developed with a commercial interest in mind. There are no weighted turn which is found in the Yang Lu-chan form. The second point is of the criticism for this video is his feet. Any master would know that he is doing wrong and make their own correction. But going back to Valthar, if even the imperfect things Jake is telling makes you feel better to keep doing it. The bearer of the message might be what he claims, it does not change the value of the message. Tai Chi is good for your well being. It is also a great martial if it that is where you want to go.

    • @timmyianni2309
      @timmyianni2309 5 лет назад +1

      @@RokoKaran you are way off base, brother. They're not opposing or competitive styles. Originally they were one style. Eventually, out of necessity and lack of communication (no electricity or phones etc.) students that couldn't remember the entire form sequences would string together what they could remember. This often happened because if you wanna live and have a place to live in and food to eat, you have to do something other than tai chi all day. Lol. Lack of daily practice and life in general made people forget all of the little nuances of the forms. The next gen of students would have the same problem and after a few generations it became a series of diluted styles rather than one cohesive and comprehensive style or system. The point of it was to train the mind and body and that's what this dude is teaching. I'm just saying don't hate on the guy because you think "his kung fu is inferior to yours" or whatever because ultimately, style doesn't matter.

      Many thanks, I've been looking for "learning powerful methods to build your Chi energy" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Fellmeroni Rudimentary Chi - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my neighbour got great success with it.
