  • We had to install this delta shower door on this bathroom renovation. I thought the instructions were a bit complicated for these, so I figured, for anyone else struggling I would give you a visual! Once I started seeing it, go together, I understood what was going on, but I thought the instructions were a bit over complicated! I hope this helps.

    Yeah, I had this door new in box leaning against my livingroom wall for 1.5 years now. Couldn’t find Anyone to install. So, doing it myself. Glad I found this video. Thanks for making and posting. Also installing with Right side opening.

    Thank you! I have had this shower door for 8 months, because I was unsure about how to install it. You are a lifesaver, it makes total sense now, I am not sure why I could not realize that the door was the support for the end opposite the shower head. My setup is opposite the instructions with the shower head on the right, like yours.

    It will take me a year to read only the instructions. But with your video I got the idea. 👍👍

    Hey Dave thanks for the video I was lost at first but as I watched your video several times things started to come together yes the instructions suck and the parts should have been marked by number or letters but with your help I came through it thanks again p.s. very nice shower door

    I love when you say how it is. Even the delta video is talking about measurement E and G and wtf. Haha. This makes sense. So much easier.
    QUESTION: do I imbed silicone inside each one of those track things I put the fixed door on to kind of glue them in place?

    • @DaveDocDIY

      I think you can do that, I don’t see how it would hurt it in any way. I don’t remember if I did 😅

    Dave - I just finished installing mine, thanks for your video! The only issue, besides the overly confusing instructions, is my inside shower door know has about half-a-turn play in it….It’s frustrating that i can still has some play. Wondering if I should ask the company to provide 4xnew door handle washers or should i clear silicone it and hope for the best?
    Anyway - thanks for making this video, it definitely helped a ton!

    • @DaveDocDIY
      @DaveDocDIY  Год назад +1

      Yeah they did not think on the door handles. Having to screw it tight with a square washer is so frustrating! It should have been a screw and cover cap situation in my opinion. Apparently Delta has great customer service, it’s worth trying! Thanks!

    Thank you for putting together this video as it is quite helpful. I am curious - which shower wand did you install on this setup? My wife hates the delta wand we got and would prefer something like the one you have in this video.

      This was a shower valve kit the customer bought from Amazon. It wasn’t one of the regular brand names! I gotta go back and search it. I feel like there was a picture of a sun on the box? 😅

    Great video Dave, thanks for posting. I'm doing my install right now and have a question: when you install the rollers, it says use the wrench to make them hand tight. Should they be static against the glass or should they spin in place? The manual doesn't say. Thanks!

      From what I remember I tightened them pretty good. They have angles on them so you can level it. I hope I’m giving you the right info though, I might have to look back on my videos I don’t fully remember on that one.

    Thank you for this video. Is this a full bypass double sliding door (both doors slide to open and close)? Home Depot's website says it slides in both directions and that's what we need. Open right door to turn on water, close, then slide open the left door to enter the shower.

    • @DaveDocDIY

      The left side is actually in fixed position for this model. I have seen this style with both opening though!

    Can you post a close up photo of the clear plastic pieces on the bottom of the slider door where it meets the sill/threshold and also the clear plastic piece on the side of the slider door where it meets the sill/threshold?

    Hey Dave…..so on the build the builder did not run the studs straight on the edge of my shower pan on neither sides however they did have backing on the upper corners….my question is did you have to screw the rails that run up and down the shower walls or did you just screw that one mount in the upper left of your install….I bought the same shower and recently had them come back to insert the backing….I didn’t realize that I had those rails that go vertical on both sides….please let me know.

    • @andyramirez353

      There will be 4x screws on the “fixed glass” side and 4x screws on the sliding slide, behind the magnetic strip.

    • @DaveDocDIY

      Awesome thank you. Unfortunately my builder didn’t put no backing inside the walls in my shower and I didn’t realize that backing needed to be installed all the way from the top to the bottom and it’s a little more difficult then expected…..I appreciate the response!! My Builder United Built Homes has been very difficult to deal with from the onset of getting a house w them….definitely wish Ida got a different builder….

    Does your door seem loose or wiggly?? I installed 1 and seems flimsy. I need to install 4 more just want to make sure it's suppose to seem loose.

  • @jonpeck5231

    TIP: Do STEPs 60-63 (Limit Stop Installation) before STEP 59 (hang sliding panel). Once it's hung, access to the hole for limit stop is blocked by the top track - I had to take sliding panel back down :(

  • @briank1665
    @briank1665 Год назад

    Why do they recommend installing the sliding door panel on the same side as the shower head? With my bathroom configuration, it makes more sense to put it on the opposite side. Would that be a problem?

    I only have a stud on the opening slider side. Not on the (left for me) fixed glass side. That being the case, I think I will be ok. I have huge vertical mounted 12”x24” tiles. Had this door for 1.5 years, so I can’t return it.
    This is part of my IDA flood rebuild from 2 years ago. Contractor long gone, and No one will install it for me because I didn’t buy the door from them. Home Depot could not provide anyone willing to install it. I am handy with this type of work. No stud to catch on fixed side. Keepin my fingers crossed.

    • @motobob9529
      @motobob9529 10 месяцев назад

      Ok, so after thinking and really looking over everything before I get started, the screws that they supply aren’t even long enough to reach a stud even if there is one there. I have 3/8” thick tile, plus the mud/adhesive, and 1/2” of sheetrock. The screws won’t reach the stud anyway.
      Another issue is, I can Not find Anywhere a 7/32 tile drill bit. That’s why the install video on the BILT app says to predrill with a 1/8” hole followed by 1/4”. I just drilled test holes in a spare tile and the plastic insert fit perfectly. My opinion, 7/32 hole would be to tight and may crack tile when adding the screw.
      Never drilled through tile before, but the 1st 1/8” hole took a long time to get through. Is that normal..??? Then redrilling with the 1/4” bit was like butter.

    • @DaveDocDIY
      @DaveDocDIY  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes drilling this holes can be a pain, water down the bit every so often so it doesn’t burn out the bit! I’m sorry I’m so late to respond! If you have an Instagram and want to message me any questions I have the same name over there. I used my own anchors in any situations that I needed to use them.

      @@DaveDocDIY
      Hey, yeah thanks. I finished installing it yesterday. I found out my tiles were porcelain, so I had to buy one of the diamond bits that are like a tube. Anyway, yep, had my wife spraying water as I drilled. Each hole took about 3 minutes to drill. That bit cuts slow, but does it well. I’m now looking forward to drilling out and mounting 2 corner shelve/grab handles, and a large center grab handle. I’ll do that next week. I was just very worried about drill through my tiles without breaking. After getting the correct drill bit, easy peasy. The rest went as expected. I never even opened the intructions that came with door. I 100% used the BILT app interactive 3D video intructions. Without that, I would probably still be here scratching my head..
      Thanks again
