Magnificent story teller! Never in a million years would I have imagined Tong Po to be this charismatic person on Michel Qissi lol, all his stories are new to me, so cool to hear what REALLY went down on the Predator set.
That is just brilliant Scott! Michel Qissi, ex best JCVD friend, without him there would most likely be no Van Damme in movies. Can't wait, thank you SA, you are the man.
@WarriorEsoteric Well, they are now cool again, but were not for many years. And they used to be true besties, not just friends. But anyway, it's good that they've buried the hatchet.
He'll always be TONG PO !! Saw Kickboxer and Bloodsport at the cinema with my parents ! Started Judo with 3 years old. I'm currently 43, a proud master and always a student.
We are so lucky to have Mr. Qissi who knows all the little details of the journey how he and Van Damme made it to America. He is an amazing story teller just like Jackie Chan, you never get bored listening to them even if you have heard the stories a hundred times. Mohammed talks about this story in more detail on Viking Samurai's channel. Thank you Scott for doing this interview with him.
Had the privilege of attending a seminar that Michel did in Wimbledon, of all places, back in about 1995 or 96. Was teaching about cinema combat and got us doing g some choreography. Seriously nice guy.
Adkins has undoubtedly blessed us with many great interviews but this is hands down my favorite. Qissi tells a story worth being a movie itself. He's so alive in his story telling. I hope JC follows suit and comes to the show. This episode was a piece of history for the fans.
OHHHH SNAP!!!!!!!!! Giving this man the spotlight because he DESERVES IT!!!!! Michel Qissi is VERY UNDERRATED!!!! Thanks for this interview Scott!!!! OSU!!!!
Wow, my favourite show is baaaaaack! Thank you, great Scott Adkins! Right now I started to watch and rewatch most of your best movies! Now it's turn of Close range
Sounds like Qissi was the one who pushed all the doors for JCVD to succeed. After they have had their falling out, you can tell JCVDs career went down the rudder. That's freaking Tong Po right there. The scariest looking villain of that genre.
that was hilarious. ive never heard that story. man that had to have been nerve wracking. im with jcvd get me outta here! lol glad it worked out though. old school legends. amazing.
scott you need to have him on as a regular to the point where you guys just shoot the shit and talk about and get his opinions on current movies and actors. he is so fuckin real that id love to hear his thoughts on other actors and movies
Around 30 years ago, my uncle told me during the movie with JCVD and Michel (Lionheart), that they are actually very good friends, despite that scene when they were fighting with eachother. I don't know how he knew that, in what way such detailed info got out withought the internet back then.
Wow....what a good interview with a legendary guest, very nice...nostalgia and new insight, today's Nr#1 and the 80's Nr#1 villain, keep it up Scott, best of luck on future projects and you have our support! P.S. fight to bring Boyka back!
I was obsessed with kickboxing as a youth I genuinely thought tong po was real due to the end credits in the film it says tong po played himself weirdly. He was a terrorfying character when your watching an 18 film as a 12 year old lol. As always Scott your phenomenal looking forward to this.
yea that rocked us all to our core. i finally decades later meaning recently, finally found on the wiki page for bloodsport...the truth. even my brother kept saying i was wrong and i was like 'look man, i can see it now and I read it, its real. tong po is not only not real he is the guy with the flat top runnin around with ghost dog lol'
Great guest, legend Muhamed Michel Qissi (Tong Po). He was just like brother to Jean Claude, not just a friend. Interesting story, especially elevator and way he talks about these interestin moments. This guy is still involved in some projects, and also he'll have a exbition fight with Don The Dragon in the near future. BR
Kickboxer was cool but Bloodsport was cooler. Great interview. You are so right. The original JCVD made him the legend we now know. Kudos to Mr. Adkins. The best martial artist character actor I’ve seen.
i wish you would have asked more about no retreat no surrender ... iv seen loads of interviews with mr qissi and nobody ever asks him for details of the experience of the fight scenes and what happened on the set ... to me no retreat no surrender would have been a huge deal at that time , i mean to go from dancing in the background of Breakin to getting the role of the main bad guy who by the way has the best fight scenes in the whole movie and then to see the finished film in theatre must have been epic
Scott- when are you gonna drop Jean Claude on us mate. But Man i frikking love listening to mohammad. He reminds me of me - energetic and expressive. It’s like I’m watching myself haha Fantastic interview!
Michael is a good actor and martial artist should have been in more films i remember to the death as well which was american kickboxer 2 Be always remembered for tong po mind... brilliant villain He scared me when i first seen it with his character I must have seen kickboxer close to a hundred timesif not more and im going to buy it on blu ray Thanks Michael for one of the best screen villians of all time Peace brother
Magnificent story teller! Never in a million years would I have imagined Tong Po to be this charismatic person on Michel Qissi lol, all his stories are new to me, so cool to hear what REALLY went down on the Predator set.
Mohammed Qissi! Besides being of great skill, you can just see he is full of love. The world today needs him.
What a legend! It's great that Scott finds these guys and they can talk about their adventures.
Who is he? How about getting real legends like Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Donnie Yen on the show. Or at least get Wu Jing, Yu Rong Guang, Max Zhang.
@@sara.cbc92 He is Tong Po. And i'm sure there is room for people who wants to come.
@@paltoun I think Ron Smoorenburg should be on the show
@@sara.cbc92wtfkkk is yu ron guang 😅😅😅

They are still friends

What a character, he should have been in a lot more movies.
He'll be in the 2024 movie The Last Kumite which should awesome especially for any old school martial arts movie fans
Expendables 5
Everyone needs a friend like Muhammed to keep pushing us no matter what…..i love that story
Jean Claude owes his career to Michel
Thank you for allowing us to see the whole interview without edits. The stories are so fun to listen to.
The Qissi brothers are all badasses, and make great villains.
OHHHH SNAP!!!!!!!!! Giving this man the spotlight because he DESERVES IT!!!!! Michel Qissi is VERY UNDERRATED!!!! Thanks for this interview Scott!!!! OSU!!!!

Too bad van damme let his ego get to him after Lionheart
Thank you Scott Adkins, you are our hero along with all your guests…you are the only man that loved Martial Arts from bottoms of his heart..
Love listening to M. Qissi - full of exuberance, great memory and energy. JCVD owes his career to Qissi.
not only love your films i also love these interviews , cant wait for part 2 , keep it comin
I love this story and love to hear it over and over again!
A legend talking to us! Such an inspiration in my childhood!
I'm so fan of Mohammed Qissi. He deserved much much more in the movie industry. They should do a movie about their story in Holywood.
Omg this guy was a beast!!! Legend right here
Love it Scott. This is my childhood too. Van damme inspired me to be a martial artist.
Such an Iconic character. 🙇
that was hilarious. ive never heard that story. man that had to have been nerve wracking. im with jcvd get me outta here! lol glad it worked out though. old school legends. amazing.

scott you need to have him on as a regular to the point where you guys just shoot the shit and talk about and get his opinions on current movies and actors. he is so fuckin real that id love to hear his thoughts on other actors and movies
It really was No Retreat, No Surrender - Michel did not want to retreat and go home and JCVD did not want to surrender to Bob.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
20:27 Are you sure they weren't meeting Harvey Weinstein?
😂😂😂
I was always a Kickboxer fan also, the scenery the music and the action.
The penthouse? Lol this was so entertaining, loved the antagonist Tong Po
This is one of the best interview, thanks a lot Scott, thank Mohamed!
We all need a friend like Mohammed Qissi 🙌🏼 Love listen to these stories.

Amazing career Mohamed Qissi ! Congratulations ! Tong Po !
This was legitimately better than Viking Samurai!
That final anecdote was just amazing! Reminds me a little of George Lazenby charming his way into becoming the second James Bond.

If it wasn't for this video I would never have guessed that Qissi played Tong Po after seeing him in Bloodsport.
Awesome 😂 thanks for another amazing interview ❤ 🎬
Kickboxer was cool but Bloodsport was cooler. Great interview. You are so right. The original JCVD made him the legend we now know. Kudos to Mr. Adkins. The best martial artist character actor I’ve seen.
Yet another amazing episode Scott ❤️🔥
Such an incredible guest, hilarious and insightful, amazing stories
Seems like such a nice guy, good interview.
Awesome to hear I'm not the only one who prefers kickbixer over bloodsport
Tong Po is the scariest Muay Thai fighter.
i wish you would have asked more about no retreat no surrender ... iv seen loads of interviews with mr qissi and nobody ever asks him for details of the experience of the fight scenes and what happened on the set ... to me no retreat no surrender would have been a huge deal at that time , i mean to go from dancing in the background of Breakin to getting the role of the main bad guy who by the way has the best fight scenes in the whole movie and then to see the finished film in theatre must have been epic

YESSSSSS!!! TONG PO! Bring out the broken glass! 😄
Scott adkins your awesome😊
Tong po really is a very nice guy, when i was a kid i was afraid of him 😅
Where is the teaser?
I would appreciate to see David Bradley from American Ninjas and American Samurai. That guy is unsearchable on the internet.
Fantastic guy
Yuri Boyka, & Tong Po together. So cool.❤
I can't find the full interview on pateron. I thought rest be up there
Saw his interview with Viking Samurai as well as Scott's interview with Viking Samurai both of them are very humble guys.
Magnificent !!!
I wonder, is it true JCVD had an operation to do the splits ?
Fkn legend! Muhammad as Tong Po and Bolo as Chong Li legit scared me as a kid.
I liked his Moustafa character in Lionheart. Obviously Tong Po as well
Love this!
I was a Bloodsport guy. That was my sh!t when I was a kid! But Kickboxer entertained as well. His look was so freaky in that.
Just watched him in Terminator Woman which he also directed!
