Magnificent story teller! Never in a million years would I have imagined Tong Po to be this charismatic person on Michel Qissi lol, all his stories are new to me, so cool to hear what REALLY went down on the Predator set.
What a character, he should have been in a lot more movies.
He'll be in the 2024 movie The Last Kumite which should awesome especially for any old school martial arts movie fans
Everyone needs a friend like Muhammed to keep pushing us no matter what…..i love that story
Jean Claude owes his career to Michel
That is just brilliant Scott!
Michel Qissi, ex best JCVD friend, without him there would most likely be no Van Damme in movies.
Can't wait, thank you SA, you are the man.
They are still friends
@WarriorEsoteric Well, they are now cool again, but were not for many years. And they used to be true besties, not just friends. But anyway, it's good that they've buried the hatchet.
He'll always be TONG PO !!
Saw Kickboxer and Bloodsport at the cinema with my parents !
Started Judo with 3 years old. I'm currently 43, a proud master and always a student.
hell yea!!!
What a legend! It's great that Scott finds these guys and they can talk about their adventures.
Who is he? How about getting real legends like Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Donnie Yen on the show. Or at least get Wu Jing, Yu Rong Guang, Max Zhang.
@@sara.cbc92 He is Tong Po. And i'm sure there is room for people who wants to come.
@@paltoun I think Ron Smoorenburg should be on the show
The Qissi brothers are all badasses, and make great villains.
This was wonderful! His passion bleeds through each second of this conversation. Part 2 and 3 please!!
I love listening to this guy. Such enthusiasm and so descriptive. I can see you're loving it to, Scott😁 can't wait for part 2😁👍
parts 2 and 3 canceled but there will be part 4 5 and 6
Sounds like Qissi was the one who pushed all the doors for JCVD to succeed. After they have had their falling out, you can tell JCVDs career went down the rudder.
That's freaking Tong Po right there. The scariest looking villain of that genre.
Too bad van damme let his ego get to him after Lionheart
It really was No Retreat, No Surrender - Michel did not want to retreat and go home and JCVD did not want to surrender to Bob.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
20:27 Are you sure they weren't meeting Harvey Weinstein?
😂😂😂
Yuri Boyka, & Tong Po together. So cool.❤
Had the privilege of attending a seminar that Michel did in Wimbledon, of all places, back in about 1995 or 96. Was teaching about cinema combat and got us doing g some choreography. Seriously nice guy.
This was legitimately better than Viking Samurai!
Around 30 years ago, my uncle told me during the movie with JCVD and Michel (Lionheart), that they are actually very good friends, despite that scene when they were fighting with eachother. I don't know how he knew that, in what way such detailed info got out withought the internet back then.
Love listening to M. Qissi - full of exuberance, great memory and energy. JCVD owes his career to Qissi.
Scott creaping up on 1M subscribers. Well deserved for sure. The more exposure, the better. 👊🏾
I love listening to this guy. Such enthusiasm and so descriptive. I can see you're loving it to, Scott😁 can't wait for part 2😁👍
I met Michel Qissi on the Last Kumite. He is a great Person.
@karldonnerlorres1910 ur in the movie
@@paulsmith9192 only in the background
Adkins has undoubtedly blessed us with many great interviews but this is hands down my favorite. Qissi tells a story worth being a movie itself. He's so alive in his story telling. I hope JC follows suit and comes to the show. This episode was a piece of history for the fans.
scott you need to have him on as a regular to the point where you guys just shoot the shit and talk about and get his opinions on current movies and actors. he is so fuckin real that id love to hear his thoughts on other actors and movies
Thank you for allowing us to see the whole interview without edits. The stories are so fun to listen to.
Scott Adkins; the new Batman!!!
If it wasn't for this video I would never have guessed that Qissi played Tong Po after seeing him in Bloodsport.
I gotta give Michel respect, his memory is still vivid. I guess with a healthy body comes with a great mind
OHHHH SNAP!!!!!!!!! Giving this man the spotlight because he DESERVES IT!!!!! Michel Qissi is VERY UNDERRATED!!!! Thanks for this interview Scott!!!! OSU!!!!
Fkn legend! Muhammad as Tong Po and Bolo as Chong Li legit scared me as a kid.
Thank you Scott Adkins, you are our hero along with all your guests…you are the only man that loved Martial Arts from bottoms of his heart..
Such an Iconic character. 🙇
that was hilarious. ive never heard that story. man that had to have been nerve wracking. im with jcvd get me outta here! lol glad it worked out though. old school legends. amazing.
Love my kickerboxer ! .... Tong Po was the badass villain of my time in the 80s
Genius! That is the way how Moroccan guys tells a story. It's like 1001 Arabian nights 😊
Mohamed is our first Moroccan film Hero! 👍💪🥊
We all need a friend like Mohammed Qissi 🙌🏼 Love listen to these stories.
That's a surprise 👍🏼 can't wait !
Wow, my favourite show is baaaaaack! Thank you, great Scott Adkins! Right now I started to watch and rewatch most of your best movies! Now it's turn of Close range
My Childhood Stars!! Tong Po vs Van Damme💪👍Best Movies !Kickboxer, Bloodsport, Leon, Cyborg, Double Impact, Hard Target!
The penthouse? Lol this was so entertaining, loved the antagonist Tong Po
Kickboxer was just so beautiful and had more emotion to it, powerful film till this day!!!!❤
Kickboxer was cool but Bloodsport was cooler. Great interview. You are so right. The original JCVD made him the legend we now know. Kudos to Mr. Adkins. The best martial artist character actor I’ve seen.
Grande Lutador.
That final anecdote was just amazing! Reminds me a little of George Lazenby charming his way into becoming the second James Bond.
not only love your films i also love these interviews , cant wait for part 2 , keep it comin
Wow, what a great storyteller!
Omg this guy was a beast!!! Legend right here
Scott adkins i love you so so so much ❤😭
Great guest, legend Muhamed Michel Qissi (Tong Po). He was just like brother to Jean Claude, not just a friend. Interesting story, especially elevator and way he talks about these interestin moments. This guy is still involved in some projects, and also he'll have a exbition fight with Don The Dragon in the near future.
BR
I was always a Kickboxer fan also, the scenery the music and the action.
I was obsessed with kickboxing as a youth I genuinely thought tong po was real due to the end credits in the film it says tong po played himself weirdly. He was a terrorfying character when your watching an 18 film as a 12 year old lol. As always Scott your phenomenal looking forward to this.
yea that rocked us all to our core. i finally decades later meaning recently, finally found on the wiki page for bloodsport...the truth. even my brother kept saying i was wrong and i was like 'look man, i can see it now and I read it, its real. tong po is not only not real he is the guy with the flat top runnin around with ghost dog lol'
A legend talking to us! Such an inspiration in my childhood!
Michel Qissi, Legend in the movies, Legend in real life. What a great friendship he and Jean Claude had.
Wow....what a good interview with a legendary guest, very nice...nostalgia and new insight, today's Nr#1 and the 80's Nr#1 villain, keep it up Scott, best of luck on future projects and you have our support! P.S. fight to bring Boyka back!
YESSSSSS!!! TONG PO! Bring out the broken glass! 😄
Smart guy. Van Damme would’ve never made it without him.
Love it Scott. This is my childhood too. Van damme inspired me to be a martial artist.
I liked his Moustafa character in Lionheart. Obviously Tong Po as well
Mohammed and Van Damme story: one of the best!!!! BRAVO! Scott, when you inverview Van Damme ?
I’m so gonna enjoy this!
Great to see more content from you !😊😆
I love Qissi's energy, wonderful story teller

Nice! Mr. Qissi was on my wishlist and he did not dissappoint.
Grew up with these great movies. Scott your the next breed my friend
Yet another amazing episode Scott ❤️🔥
Such an incredible guest, hilarious and insightful, amazing stories
Ah man, Scott this was AWESOME What a great storyteller Mr. Qissi is.
Hilarious storytelling. Thank you, Mr. Adkins for this!!! You and this Brother, based on your Yuri Boyka character and his Tong Po- character fooled the heck out of me- Looking forward to the next parts. Enjoyed this as much as your interviews with Mark Dacascos (my favorite one) and Cynthia Rothrock.
Fantastic guy
I love this! You're the best my idol Scott Adkins, i love the Art of Action 💯💪😍💞❤️😍💞❤️😍💞❤️💞💞
Loved him in Kickboxer and Kickboxer 2 wish he came back in Kickboxer 4.
Talk about a true friend and brother Michel always believed in Van damme and both of them working together as one you don’t really hear about things like that anymore even though he is not as big as Van damme was Michel always either sticks out or comes up in other random movies still showing his skills either way they are both dope.
i wish you would have asked more about no retreat no surrender ... iv seen loads of interviews with mr qissi and nobody ever asks him for details of the experience of the fight scenes and what happened on the set ... to me no retreat no surrender would have been a huge deal at that time , i mean to go from dancing in the background of Breakin to getting the role of the main bad guy who by the way has the best fight scenes in the whole movie and then to see the finished film in theatre must have been epic
Amazing and captivating! Watched this guy’s interview on the other great channel of Viking Samurai and never gets tired!🤙
Scott adkins your awesome😊
Tong Po is the scariest Muay Thai fighter.
Thanks, Scott for this interview it was really great to hear from a close friend of Van Damme.
I was a Bloodsport guy. That was my sh!t when I was a kid! But Kickboxer entertained as well. His look was so freaky in that.
Michel it so cool story teller 😊
“He was a homosexual and he wanted Jean-Claude!” 😂
Great story.
Hes going to be in the last kumite. He done interviews with Viking samurai
