It's wild that they make you research the guns again when they are basically identical to equivelant tank guns both in game and in history.
yeah gone are the days when you would often get 'crossover' parts like usually if you'd been done one line you'd unlock pretty much ALL the radios for any further parts of that line and if you were lucky and went down the heavy tank line you'd unlock a lot of the medium tank guns.
It seems to me that Wargaming are doing every single thing in their power to make sure you hate this line of vehicles. I sure hope that changes before the update comes out.
@@luketferTo be fair, they decreased the number of modules you have to reseach for a tank by a lot. Even the first gun is often bearable, and you usually only have to reseach the turret and a single gun to have full firepower. Back in the day even meds and lights would had to reseach 3 guns, each one being a bit better than the last, meaning that the full stock tank was horrible if you didn't have any crossover from other lines (the new players suffered the most because they didn't have many lines)
@@luketfer To be fair, even in 2012 the TD's had equivalent guns of higher tier heavy tanks and still you had to re-research the guns even if you had unlocked them on the heavies.
Welcome to world of tanks console
We need a wheeled Maus
that would need like 50+ wheels
Usable Stock gun on the AEC, that is the top gun from the matilda
It's also the matilda turret on it.
matilda top gun has 40 alpha not 60 as well as only 140mm of gold pen
@@Basspounder5 Also not sure what kind of Matilda you're driving, but mine has a lot more armor than 30mm.
@@DonanzadorObviously WG have been playing with the turret armour thickness again, the AEC Armoured Car used exactly the same turret as the early Valentine tank with the 2pdr. gun.
@@Donanzador all I said was that it's very easy to tell that it has the turret of a matilda. No need to be an ass about it.
I feel like the tier 10 tank would be a pretty cool medium if it got premium hesh and better camo.
I would be happy with HESH and more dpm on all the new branch.
Tbh the Cruiser IV is probably the best tank in the branch so far 😂, that things an absolutely monster. . Pom pom gun always makes me smile. 😊
Crazy thing is, it used to be at tier III (just with less health IIRC). Cruiser III was one of the best tier II tanks after the T18 was nerfed/changed. The Cruiser II was at tier III with a massive derp gun.
@JWQweqOPDH The Vickers has the same pop pom gun at tier 2 in the Chinese tech tree, I have been having a laugh with that.
Modern tech trees are so boring, because they never re-use modules from other tanks. I loved getting engines, radios and guns from other tank lines.
The only proper way to avoid being destroyed after one minute will be to play as a fast relocating TD
My thoughts exactly, the whole line is set up for it to be a sniper tank.
@@Basspounder5 Which would be fine if it didnt have terrible dpm and camo.
AEC Armoured car was actually very heavilly armoured for its time, 65mm on the front was as good as a lot of the other cruiser tanks, its 75mm gun was capable of damaging anything it met, it was actually quite slow though, off road it was only doing around 40-50 kph, and was only around 10 hp per ton, in game it would actually drive more like a heavy tank, although they had a good tight turning circle, as did British armoured cars in general, so it should have a fantastic traverse speed. . Im really exited for this branch, I have models of all the British and German Armoured Cars, hoping they get their physics modeled correctly, unlike the ridiculously stupid ebrs, right angle turns at 90kph would send you barrel rolling or just skid slide, they drive more like scalextrix cars in game 😂
Yeah watching a EBR running in a S line pattern like a snake at maximum speed is just ridiculous
Wheeled vehicles are known to be very quiet so the camo should be fixed
Also I think that the acceleration especially when backing up after a shot should be increased and I'm even thinking of a new mechanic for higher caliber wheeled cars that would allow boosted acceleration after firing by pairing recoil and engine
And play whac a mole to get rid of them
Boosted acceleration after firing? Like firing backwards to accelerate? That should apply to every tank then - and is a thoroughly outlandish idea.
@@moergbtbd it’s a thing for double barrel tanks
@@moergb bro WG put rockets on tanks and you call guns having recoil outlandish
Finally! Representation of the Saladin in one of these games. Took them long enough (:
But its stats are intentionally CRAP cos its not Russian.
I'll grind it just for the staghound alone. I think the lower tier ones are pretty neat.
For a moment I thought the Tier Ten uses the 120 mm gun. The gun looks so similar to the Chieftain’s/Chally 1’s
20:22 Interesting, that Wargaming are planning to update the Concept 1 b to have wheels instead. Cool
Good to know...
Why are these armoured cars medium tanks? Considering that the UK was the premier users of armoured cars for like 90 years.
yeah creepy baby sucking up to his employers. The saladin a medium tank, its utter bollocks
Was wondering the same thing. But I bet WG did that on purpose to emphasize that the British Wheeled Tanks are NOT like the French ones, in order to avoid a sh*tstorm from all those players who hate the french Wheeled Light Tanks.
the tier 5 armored car reminds me of the 1st wheeled vehicles from the ww1 event when they 1st tested it
At the moment and for many years i have thought that WG is adding too many tanks too quickly... At the moment there is a new premium tank almost once a week and then these new tech trees or nations multiple times a year
Remember the jump in engine power when you hold the spacebar for some time ? I guess it would perfectly fit here
honestly i love the concept
Not looking great but inspired me to open the game first time in a bit 😀 Thanks for the video 07
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but why have the unarmoured storage bins, between the wheels, been included as part of the hit-boxes? They are bolted to the outside of the hull armour and not connected to the fighting compartment, unless I'm mistaken?
Looking forward to them.
This even makes the Manticore tech tree look good.
I was hoping for some gameplay with tier X vehicle in the end, but nevermind. Still great video QB, thanks!
It seems (should be) it is a more mobile but less stealthy lep1. A bit more focus on oppertunity rather then lay hidden
Either give them hesh or allow them to keep camo after firing
Crazy to me that they've made these medium tanks
I presume there is no crew anomolies, and you can continue training the same crew as you advance? If looks like the Saladin is the best tier to tier part of the branch, and might be where most people will stop researching and stay to max mod it.
9:05
Dude I literally 3rd Mark my T-34-1 with bond vents, bond optics and bounty exhaust because for meme purpose and I did not expect that I 3rd mark it with 158 battles ...
its becoming a normal thing now for wargaming to release a tech tree where all the tanks are bad or average with only the tier 8 premium being somewhat good.
@ 19:54 Your best slip of the tongue ever 🤣
These tanks looks like 3D renderings of what I drew at the age of 5
Ah! But you see, I AM a mad lad! I got so bored grinding up to the Leo1 that I finally just gave up at the Leo Proto. I will someday finish that line but for now, I’ve got some new meat to look forward to! Excellent first look at some subpar mediums.
Thank you once again for your awesome review of these wheelie boys! I’m still looking forward to seeing if I can make them work for me. I love taking tanks that no one likes and making them good.
As always. Stay safe out there, everyone! Good luck and happy hunting!
P.S. On a side note. Wargaming seem to be listening a bit more to the player base these days. Perhaps that bodes well for the future of these wheeled vehicles. Perhaps we’ll see a few much needed improvements before the update goes live!
It's sad the Leo PTA is very good and Leo 1 is one of the best t10 rn somehow
Ah I remember the staghound from company of heroes. Great ac
i really like the tier 7. it looks cool, and i think i could make it effective when all upgrades are unlocked.
Here we go!
An interesting note: tier V and VI are 100% compatible in roles to the british lights.
Ooooh, a Saladin? I might actually install WoT again for that.
I’m going to need more qb commanders stat!
Fast glass cannons techtree😂😂
If they made the camo better, with higher power to weight ratio. It would be kinda okey
Camo of this line is VI < VII > VIII > IX > X > E50M > M48 , yeah the X only more conceal than E50 and M48, no more. The pain will be real with that camo and amor.
got to say I'm really enjoying the Scheme A at tier 7. Nice cammo, decent spotting and sniping available but a shame about the gun depression. I'm just a "regular schmo" as Claus would say but I like them. Might not grind to tier 10 though having just watched this 🙂
They need to add a Staghound tulip premium for the lols.
I dont know why, but I thought the tier 10 would be the Rooikat 105.
Thanks QB
20:22 "stock version of Concept 1B"?
”Armoured cars and tanks n guns, came to take away our sons, every man must stand behind the men behind the wire”😊
The tier 7 looks good except for the gun depression.
he's still angry to the gsor 1010 :D
now what we need is Italy and German wheeled
I will never forgive Wargaming for not including the Daimler in this tech tree release.
Huh.....the Concept 5 kinda reminds me of the US's STRIKER IFV. The Striker has 8 wheels, and it has a....105 or 120mm Cannon on top.
The FSV Scheme A looks like the only alright vehicle on the line, tho shame that it gets that awful gun depression. Well still time to change before they hit live, we'll see...
The saladin remind my nickname, new main tank for me
AEC in warthunder but it at 3.0 for sm reason. But both WOT and WT need to add all the Staghound variants. BF5 already has the first one. So why not all?
So compared to the Leopard 1, this tank can't be tracked, is slightly faster, and has 10 higher alpha. But in exchange, the Leopard has much higher DPM, better penetration, better accuracy, better camo, and more view range. There's no point of grinding the new line at all.
speed was always a problem to them like British firefly. im not suprised after french wheely they would decrease the speed hard.
so why did they do supertest? it's the same changes that were announced. everything was absolutely balanced?
Ain’t going down this line. That’s for sure
Shame the Boarhound is absent (unless they are thinking of adding as a premium)
boarhound is american prototype
@@icewolf1811 An American proto type designed to meet a British requirement during WW2 hence the name , as far as I'm aware.
Would be cool to see more wheeled premiums. There are sooo many premium tracked vehicles already.
If the americans get a similar Line in the future, I would expect it there
@@robertlocock5636and the prototypes were in brit service for a while during the war too. Bit of a conundrum for WG
For those who don't want to see the full video:
Stop at the Saladin, the rest of the line sucks.
At first they said "no wheelie" but then French wheelies happened. What's next? Smoothbore gun? Or a new faction called "Asian Coalition" with a light tank line that lead to Commando Stingray which contains something likes BMP series and the new ATGM mechanic?
T-62A has a smoothbore
Lol! Go play the xBox version if you want to see all that nonsense. That being said, I don’t see why that won’t happen. There’s only so much they can add now before they simply have to add more and more post-war tanks and gun mechanics.
PlAnEs
T62A has smoothebore.
@@dylanandmolly3739 I mean the OG smoothbore, the 115mm
The Staghound was actually made by Chevrolet & Cadillac in the USA, not a British wheeled armored vehicle
You made the fastest heavy tank, can you make the sneakiest heavy or maybe medium?? :)
YESSS NEW VIDEO
Was very, very shocked at how just how bad this line is. The tier 7 seems like the only decent tank in the line - what a shame.
why tf would you say the tier X looks competitive? Didn't you watch the end of the video? The Concept 5 is basically a heavily nerfed Leopard 1, there's no reason to play the Concept over the Leo.
Is nice to see even a light has better armour than these meds
I will wait for the German Puma and Sonder KFZs.
tiers 5-7 are kv-2 wet dream - if he can hit them
tiers 5 and 6 are oneshots, and tier 7 will have about enough hp left to really regret pushing the battle button
Tier 7 and 10 look like the most fun
Tier 7 looks indeed decent, but the tier X looks just like a weak Leopard 1. I see no reason to play the Concept 5 over the Leopard 1, it's basically better in almost every aspect.
@@robinkhn2547 well yes I wrote the comment before seeing all the tier 10s stats😅
This thing woud be good if they made 1 thing on tier 10. 530 DMG alpha
Anyone else wondering why these aren't classed as tank destroyers?
You first told us to save experience on the covenanter but it turn out to be the wrong advice.
Can't wait to get the Centauro in 2025 😂
The big problem with these machines is that in real life their best value was road range; which is irrelevant to the game.
So it’s just a British wheeled version of the Leopard line?
ok played the t9 on live server:
-
one wheel dead= massive, massive speed loss..u repair it, killed again....again massive speed loss.. unlike ebr90/105 where u can hide with the remaining speed, u can t with this tank, u would need like 4 repair kits on open field (forget about hit and run), tracked or 1-2 wheels dead it s more or less the same but wheels have less hitpoints thatn tracks and more likely to die again..
-reload is long (gun rammer needed), forget about trading shots. pikaboo + turret in the middle = free shots from the others, so i end up being a moving fire support , reminds me of the lynx 6*6.
-the alpha/pen is very nice on the second gun..
-nimbleness+ size: forget it, turns like a boat or like british lights. u can have the magic wheels to save u , sometimes...but u wont have the remaining speed to save u. next shot will be for u.
-turn on the spot like tracked tank but not fast ( seems slow to make a 180/360)
-armor: no armor, forget it.
-equipements: i put, turbo, gun rammer, vent
-crew: camo (it has a base crappy camo),repair, extingu, view range, pilot skills on mud/bad terain (whatever the name)
i hace the t9 cnturion too...i d say, the centurion will be better in any situation, its turret can handle hulldown, has armor, decent gun.. the gsor can be more fun but wont forgive u anything.
the camo value on tier 10, wtf is that :D
Wheeled vehicles in real life these days were never meant to be heavily armoured tanks but more like the best anti tank gun that is meant to fire and run
Is that the first 110mm gun in the game? Or am I missing one? Also, since it's a 110mm gun, it can over match 35mm plates (stares at the STB-1 side armor lol)
I think the Concept 1B has a 110mm as well
British 110 was a really interesting prototype that outperformed the German 120 in firing trials. Shame that WoT won’t put apds or apfsds into the game.
They really should've given them HESH for HE.
Now they are holding out until the tier 10 to actually have a good tank, tier 5 looks ok though
Seems like wg forgot that repair kits exist
At least these look balanced. In reality wheeled vehicles should be less able to move quickly compared to a tank depending on terrain, but be quicker on hard packed ground or roads.
Surprised the Rooikat wasn’t put it, 105mm gun and same mobility as an ebr
read that again and you will know why it wasn't added.
it's basically an EBR but from the 1980s. Now you know why it isn't added
It's also not even British.....
Might make for a cool premium tank someday though!
So a leopard is the same speed, better camo, and has a better gun. Why would anyone play this? Ps, IRL the Saladin was a far more effective vehicle than any of the EBRs. Not that WG gives a shit about that...
Next up to bat is WG British Wheeled Medium’s.
strike 1, strike 2, strike 3, Your out !! 👍
WG had a chance to introduce something new and exciting. And struck out 😐
The worst thing about tier 7 are weels every hit on this derstoys your mobility by 60%
i absolutely despise how the tech tree t8 is worse than the premium
that's just how it has been for years, unfortunately...
Well... at least they look really cool...
People yelling for years that they want all wheeled vehicles removed. WG: Let's add more wheeled vehicles.
It has different mechanics tho
these ones aren't game breaking (have a test server account - there's loads of them and they just aren't problematic in the same way as an EBR)
@@aditiayanuar346 point taken. I still feel the same.
@@tit4nu these will be more like the leopard 1 than EBRs
I would love to see you play war thunder more than wot, I used to love wot and converted over to war thunder, I just can’t go back
I want 440 alpha and higher hp.
Who has a negative opinion of the British light tanks? They have some of the best win rates and similar to the ELC, have much better views after people got to try them out more.
3 Months back they said and showed that the new tech tree gonna start from Covenanter and now they decided to start it from the Cruiser IV... Ok now i must grind another 30-40k XP but now on tier IV tank y??? when they release the tank maybe they will say hey folks in order to research brand new tech tree you must grind one of the older tech trees up to tier X??? how i love when WG is f everything up non stop...
It's not a German Daimler, it's the British one.
WG will buff for sure. Id be fine with these being a glass cannon type of tank. Good DPM and gun stats, but horrible camo and large 0 armor target aka fairly balanced tank imo.
Finnally some tanks well armoured cars as far as I'm concerned that where in service not all fake blueprint or Chinese Rocket ass tanks. Thats a vid you could do quickybaby a list of all the tanks, SPGs, TDs ect from WW1 up to the late 60s early 70s that wargaming should add that where in service there are plenty they could do. The game needs to get back to some historical in service tanks. A good example where is the Soviet PT76 light tank you think it would be in game.
Didn't the preview from WG show the Wheeled line branching off from the T5 Covenanter LT not from the T4 Cruiser IV?
The recent one they did yesterday shows it after the cruiser.
Well, there's 11000+ exp i won't be getting back.
@@jameslittleton4131u can use gold
So wheeled worse leopard 1's
