  • The Royal Australian Navy Bay Class landing ship HMAS Choules is undertaking a South-West Pacific Regional Presence Deployment with destinations including Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.
During the five-week deployment, Choules will deliver Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicles and associated equipment to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces for use in United Nations peacekeeping missions, participate in an International Fleet Review celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Tonga Royal Navy and the official birthday of His Majesty King Tupou VI of Tonga, and visit Samoa to conduct local community engagements.
Australia maintains a near continual presence in the Pacific and wider Indo-Pacific region via regional presence deployments that demonstrate Australia’s commitment to, and engagement with, the region. They play a vital role in regional security by strengthening cooperation and relationships with regional partners, building resilience and enhancing Australia’s position as a security partner of choice.

Australia pays Thales very well for their services , it’s not a mutually loving partnership ya muppet ….more like an abusive relationship, just like with the United States relationship.
