Great take on the open tag Jerry 😎👍🏻 Ken has produced some fantastic products that are safe to use and chemical free…. Kudos Ken 😎👍🏻 The Taylor’s Barlow is a solid work knife, but does often need a bit of tuning 😀 Thanks for taking the time to share this buddy 👍🏻
I received mine in the USA from James and Company. Let's just say that his customer service and response time is second to none. ...rare these days. I highly recommend this vendor. (I'm going to repeat this in a few videos because I believe he deserves it)
Thanks for the Shoutout!!! There are many times in life that I come across problems that there is no acceptable solution for. This drives me to come up with my own solution to fix the issue. In the beginning I started developing these products for my own use with no plans to sell them. It was Randy's WSG that kept suggesting that I should sell these products. He even sent me a link for the chapstick tubes! I figure that if I have certain issues so must at least a few other people. I love the outdoors and never could stand using commercial products that contain chemicals on my knives. Why use chemicals and then grab the knife to use for food or game prep? Or have a leather sheath treated with chemical conditioner to house you fixed blade that will be used to process game in the field? It took quite a bit of research and a lot of trial and error to come up with the right ingredients to use and to develop a formula. There will be one more product to complete the set and that is a heavy lube. So with these you have safe to use knife care products. 1. Leather Conditioner/Corrosion Inhibitor which is great for carbon steels 2. UL Lube Pivot Flush and Knife Cleaner 3. Heavy Pivot Lube (waiting for out of stock ingredients)
Thanks for sending these over, they are definitely great products and i've been using food safe waxes for quite a while now and love it. Like you said, no chemicals.
I’ve always considered the Barlow style knife a grandfather or great grandfather style knife. But this one is really beautiful very clean looking. Thank You for sharing this with us 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I got my first English Barlow last week a Jos Rodgers Stag but I’m really wanting a TEW too and that’s a beautiful piece I can’t believe they come in a blister pack Thanks Big J for a great review and a great channel Blessings bro
Great Knife! Ive yet to get one... But someday! I absolutely love Kens wax oil. I use it on leather, wood , and high carbon steel. Thank you for this 2 for Tuesday Jerry!
.... its a working knife here in the UK. Some of us put some more finish on them, like take all the sharp edges off them, centre the blades if need be, sand down the edges on the wood and then super glue varnish them to a high polish.
@bigjsknives .... if you have some blade play... just lightly peen the blade pins until its stopped. The bolsters are easy enough to clean back up. Its a cheap and cheerful knife. It will last as long as you with a bit of tlc 👍🏻
Enjoyed the video. I ordered some of the LCK care stuff. Question, I have an old Kissing Krane 2625 canoe. One of the pins is proud on both sides of the knife. Is there a way to fix this? I worry that if I try to file it, I'll scratch the handle... Thanks!!
I've never done that but if you do anything i'd use some good tape to protect the scales. Maybe use a small dremel bit to grind and sand it down. Thanks for checking out his products!!!
