First officer was playing it safe by staying back but keeping the SUV in sight. Staying up on the SUV through that area almost would have guaranteed they would have lost control and potentially harmed bystanders.
I hear ya! Seems like ASP cams are more stable too, this GSP camera was fairly stable, but I've watched a few from GA and other states that are so bouncy it almost makes me nauseous. I don't wanna complain too much though...I enjoy watching all the chases, stable camera or not.

Commendations go to the officer for performing a PIT with no hesitation and proper special awareness with that gap in traffic. Also yielding at the red lights to make sure intersection is clear. Without a doubt the officer handled his adrenaline rush appropriately. Many LEOs can learn from this guy. Impressive that with no air support and they still got em. That gap in the residential streets got pretty large that if the durango driver was a real wheelman he could’ve got away.

This one starts with Georgia DPS Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). Georgia's Commercial Vehicle police officers. Troopers in GA have badge numbers 1 to 999, MCCD MCO's use the 7 prefix followed by three additional numbers. MCO Woods #7745, per the dash cam. Their vehicles are black with gray livery, as opposed to the troopers blue and gray, with orange. MCCD drive larger vehicles like the Tahoe and more frequently now the Durango , and carry a large amount of equipment for CMV inspections. GA DPS has three divisions: GSP, MCCD, and Capitol Police.
MCCD typically drive Tahoes or something else large with lots of heavy equipment in the back. People are ragging on Woods for driving slowly and carefully, others actually understand why.

I'm betting at night like that, with the black Tahoe behind him, the Durango didn't even realize that was a cop behind him. Hard to see those low profile light bars on top of those things, much less at night and the gray lettering doesn't stand out much.

Even for a split second. No doubt he would have done the same even without backup. Top notch. Adrenaline was at max level.
The level of brilliance is astounding. Almost swipe a cop car, run when they loght you up, GET AWAY but continue straight on the same road so they can catch back up. Like why run if you're not going to take the opportunity to escape? Mind blowing

Instead, he decided to head back to the interstate, where there's nowhere to hide and other cops with faster cars can catch up. What a dummy.
Getting away is a lot tougher then you think. Sure, they can black out. But, it would have to be where the cops don't see and it makes it just as tough to see for other drivers and the suspect. If they use a crest and turn off a sidestreet, the cops could get an air unit up or would search all those roads. Not every road leads to another path of escape. Which can trap the suspect to barricade in one of those homes. Let's say they do escape, the cops have your plate on dashcam. Search it, they have your info. And you bet they will first start with the address looking for details of places you frequent.

I'm 99% sure he had a flat after hitting the street sign exiting the interstate at Northside Drive. I'll bet it was a runflat, which would allow him to keep up somewhat and why he was so slow turning. If you watch ASP videos, the new Tahoes are almost every bit as fast as the Chargers... Once chase they were over 140 in a new Tahoe.
That first officer vehicle was a boat... maybe didn't get the tune up on time, a Dodge Durango is the definition of boat and the police cruiser had issues catching up to it... luckily the 2nd Dodge charger was able to catch up like a boss like it's suppose to to take care of business.

That first officer vehicle was a boat... maybe didn't get the tune up on time, a Dodge Durango is the definition of boat and the police cruiser had issues catching up to it... luckily the 2nd Dodge charger was able to catch up like a boss like it's suppose to to take care of business.

Can't believe the forst officer didn't lose them. Straight away, all clear and he was kangaroo hitting the gas pedal. Up hill, no car, let's off the gas. It reminded me of the Jason movies. No matter how fast the victim runs, Jason just walks and still catches up. Second trooper came in and put an end to it quickly.
