I own MPS P1 &P2. Had one of the MPS first batch. It died in less than 2 months and 600 round count on a SIG p226. Steiner sent me the newer version to replace. That said I prefer the MPS over the P2 for two reasons. I can use lower iron sights for backup. The glass is much clearer. The P2 has FAR better battery life but requires the tallest iron sights Dawson makes to have useable backup irons. As far as durability, I too believe the acro to edge out Steiner. So it lives on my SCAR now. That said, my MPS has suffered a lot of abuse and over 1200 rounds of 9mm. I am a land surveyor in Mich. I carry owb, my MPS is in and out of a truck getting banged many times a day. It's been dropped onto pavement and conc. Go thru swamps, dusty road construction sites, very hot humid to below freezing conditions. Extreme temp changes routinely being in hot truck to cold or AC truck to 95° with 90% humidity. No fogging in or out of the sight. The only drawback is, battery change every 3 months. To me that's not big of deal. My P1 is the same way. I went on Amazon bought in bulk (technical term I think is a metric Shh ton) and have backups stashed everywhere. My P2 has suffered 5-800 rounds of reciprocating sledgehammer abuse of 308 scar... Still trucking. It did take a nasty fall last week. My sling came loose and the full 12.5lbs of a scoped & suppressed scar, bipod and full 20rnd mag landed on the acro, mounted at 45° in packed gravel. No loss of zero, keeps on ticking. As big I says... Can't go wrong either way.
That's news to me. Didn't know there was a second gen MPS. Valuable information since I'm about to heavily invest in a slide cut and optic itself. Still deciding between MPS and P2 since the share the same footprint
I have a severe astigmatism that has prevented me from using a red dot of any kind. Some are better than others, but none of them are even "fairly good". The Steiner MPS is the first red dot I can use. I actually see a crisp dot.
I run a CS or P as my EDC, The CS has a SRO and the P currently has the RMR however I'm watching your video cause I'm contemplating the ACRO or the MRS who know might switch over to each... Enclosed emitters are the way to go! As a firearm instructor I frequently get caught in the elements while teaching and there is nothing worse than bringing up your sight picture with multiple distorted dots due to rain...
@@BigJohnsonGG I saw one Amazon review for the Steiner that mentioned the bolts sheared and flung the optic into his face,. And that was on a pistol. Makes me nervous to mount one on a 12 gauge.
I have no experience with either dot. Now which gun would I EDC? Probably the CZ because it is closer to what I am used to. That being said, I would rather you give me the Staccato. Either one would make a nice gift for me....just saying.
I do slightly prefer the MPS over the P2 personally. Also Steiner will replace that MPS if you contact them. Their customer service is top notch in my experience.
The Steiner has a lifetime heirloom (transferable) warranty. I think that's gonna be my main drive. Though the P-2 does have a gray version that matches the shotgun I'm gonna put it on.
Just be aware that the Battery life on the Steiner sucks. I have 2 of them and if you leave them on a higher than med setting will only last 2-3 months.
I find that every acro fanboy likes to be like “the MPS FOV is bigger than the Acro’s BUT is it THAT much bigger?” And the answer is comparably and noticeably, yes and the MPS is so much more durable.
I own 2 MPS and I like them but the battery life sucks and the attachment bolts are actually sheering off and causing them to fly off. I have 2 friends who do YT as well and theirs have sheered already. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for your detailed comparison. I think you have 2 credible options here. If I could only have one, the Acro/C2 combo would be the way I'd roll. Fortunately this is 'Murica, so having both is the best! 🇺🇲 🇺🇸!

mps looks cooler, winner haha

Good deal!
That Steiner is such an awesome looking dot
It’s a nice one. Thanks for Watching Brother

I’m really liking them both and I have and run a ton of other dots as well but I also an preferring the enclosed models more.
I can't wait for my dot to come in for my TX22 Compact. The closed emitter dots have some advantages for sure. Better in rain or dust.
My edc is a holosun 507k and the glass is always filled with debris. I’m changing out all my red dots for enclosed emitters.
That can definitely happen
Trying to decide between these two for a Berretta a300 shotgun build. I love the look of the Steiner for sure.
I like them both however the Steiner battery life sucks.

@roundearthshill248 They have since updated the lug bolt, that locks it down.
Was waiting for just such a video.
Thanks
Thanks for Watching! 🤘🏼
Nice review and information Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 😊
Thanks , you as well
Running the MPS for EDC. It’s phenomenal and the dot is crispyyyy
Good deal, thanks for Watching
Gonna order the MPS right now. It’s 405 beans on primary arms rn
It’s a good one
Great video, brother!

Which one would you run on a hk sp5
Steiner battery life sucks
@@BigJohnsonGG holosun aems or ACRO?

Hey Big Johnson does one perform a little better than the other with your astigmatism?
They are both not horrible but MPS may be a bit cleaner looking.
How does the clarity of the laser on the Steiner compare to the Acro? The clarity of the Acro is insane, but I haven’t seen the Steiner.
The clarity of the glass is great it is as clear if not clearer than the ACRO and a tad bigger window.
@@BigJohnsonGG thanks for the reply! I like the clarity of the ACRO. I haven’t been in front of an MPS. I’ll check it out!
@jakenieten They are nice but the MPS battery life sucks if you leave it on to a higher intensity you will only get about 2-3 weeks out of a battery.
What holsters do you run for the Steiner and acro ?
I have all my 2011 holster reviews on my channel
the MPS has a 13,000 battery life, over a year and a half. it just looks so much cooler, easy winner. i just bought one to test out.
Thanks for Watching
Any time under NODS on these?
No, thanks for watching
Thanks for stating a definitive comparison conclusion!
Of course these are my opinions.
How’s the MPS holding up after this video?
Perfectly
Wow, that window would be great running suppressed on my Glock17 after about 50 rounds through it with the can my RMR gets pretty smokey looking.
Do you remove your holster when driving?
No Sir, keep at the 12:00, shirt behind at the ready.
here's my answer to the question- MPS>P2 and P10>C2. Plain and simple
Thanks for Watching

Why put that tunnel box on a shotty. I promise you a bead is quicker
@geefam20 I have a dot on my HD shotgun.
It is what it is......
Staccato CZ p10 F...... ???
Yep that’s what they are, are you actually asking me a question?
