I’ve had my 10 year old Yaris for 6 years and always have to look up how to turn on the fog lights. I don’t always need to drive when it’s foggy but today is a day that I do. Thanks for this video 😎
Thank you so much. Drove a '02 Camry for damn near 20 years and took it to the shop last week, got it today, (was in a little fender bender), couldn't for the life of me turn on the damn fog lights. Was driving me nuts. Thanks.
Great video! I once destroyed my Toyota Corolla 2016 headlights..wasted my money to fix it. Now that I have watched your video, I learned alot. Thanks a million. Enjoy a great day!
Leander Lester That's great! I am so glad this was able to help you! I hope you enjoy my other videos and please come back often! Have a great day and enjoy your ride! brock
Hey man! I just bought a new 2017 Toyota Highlander SE. Not sure about the sticks beside the wheel, just browsing through youtube and caught this video. It really helped me! Thank you. Have a great day ahead.
Thank you, thank you thank you! I bought American cars all my life but recently bought a 03 Toyota Avalon with this stock. I was confused on how to use it because American automakers in my opinion use a much straighter forward switch design. This biggest issue was how to engage the fog lights and high beam setting. You did a great job explaining and showing how to use the controls in layman's terms.
This is a GREAT VIDEO! Thank you so much! I have issues when getting into new cars and Headlight switch was off and my sugar was extremely low and I couldn't to save my life figure out how to to turn the light on, You guessed it I drive mainly in the daytime. Great video, thank you!
Thank you ever so very much for posting this. I have a Sienna LE 2015 and have only known to leave the lights on "Auto". Now there is a winter storm and they are saying to turn your full lights on and I had no idea how to do that.
THANK-YOU, I just bought a New Toyota tundra (TRD). And even the dealership could not tell me how to turn on the FOG LIGHTS. (The Dealership is Toyota of the Desert, in Palm Springs ca).
AUTO headlight setting is for more than nighttime. Try: tunnels, covered/indoor parking lots, dusk, dawn, dark drizzly low visibility conditions, forgetful/inattentive drivers that do not turn lights on at night, etc. In Canada, a solution was found that did not require drivers action: when the car is running, the lights are always ON!!! Great idea. BTW, a fake study showed car manuals over 5 years old that had ZERO human prints on pages! NEVER opened!! Scary?
Excellent input my friend! Thank you for the input - I need to turn this into a video!!! Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if it we’re true about how little people read the owners manuals!!
Tnx so much for this video.i am about to have a practical driving test next month and I am still confused about these symbols. I will watch this video over and over til i practically memorize it.:) by the way, what does the "bulb" symbol mean on the far left?
Thanks! I know this video is old but if anyone knows…I have a 2020 Sienna and the fog lights will only come on in Auto and at night. I can’t seem to force them on. Is this as designed?
I have the same question and can’t find an answer Edit: Never mind. I googled it. They’re just lights that aren’t as bright as normal lights for when you are parked and just need your car to be visible, such as when parked on the side of the road.
I unfortunately have a base model sienna 2014 that doesn’t have fog lights and everyone around me has their LEDs and blinding me and I can barely see the road thanks to no lights on the road. I don’t want to use my high beams but I don’t have fog lights which is a safety hazard and I wish I had them because when I drove a different car, such a big difference in pitch black night with no road lights.
I have a 02 Rav4. The car has fog lights but it doesn't have that inner ring on the lever. Is this because the previous owner replaced the switch lever?
Nice video. I have a related question and hoping you might know the answer. Does Toyota make any SUV or cars with "cornering light"? This is the light that beams side way when you activate the left or right signal. I see Lexus RX has this feature, but I really would like to know if Toyota has it as well. Thanks.
Thanks! Just got the 2016 Prius and wasn't sure how the lights function worked. If you leave the lights turned on when in the manual mode, will they shut off automatically when you shut off the engine?
I dont think so..that time my uncle drove his Prius and didn't off the engine and left the light on. I think it's best if you just remind yourself to off your light before turning the engine off. Have a great day sir.
Lmao I just got this car today thank God I found thsi I was trying to figure out how to work the lights . I never had a newer model car. So so much to learn on it. How does she like it? I'm a female I'm using my grandpa RUclips I'm on his phone right now. I so understand your wife lol
+Brock Frady Do you have any info on a 2013 Prius head light controls. Ours does not offer the "AUTO" version but instead has to be turned "ON" manually and shut off manually. The manual has pages (252 & 253) showing both types. Having had a 2008 Prius - it had all the bells and whistles. It seems as Toyota progressed over the years, they began to cut costs and made many of these features optional. The "Door lock" system also comes in this category. We should have done more homework before moving up to the 2013. It is just not the same car we gave up in the 2008.
You are correct about measures to make them more affordable. What package is your 2013? If the 2008 model was a package 4 or 5 then you probably are missing several features if the 2013 model is a lower package #.
Problem is that there are dozens of permutations on different models of Yaris which makes it confusing. Why don’t the damn rear lights come on automatically too with the front daytime ones ? Varying daytime visibility, rain , cloudy/ dark and intermittent changes in lighting are a serious problem that isn’t being addressed by manufacturers. Try putting your rear lights on when visibility drops at 10.00am suddenly ! You can find your daytime lights go off and only your front parking ones will work ! These are very serious problems that can cost you your licence or worse but manufacturers aren’t addressing them. The stupid daylight headlight tech is the result of snowflake environmentalists and has compromised safety and common sense flexiblity with lighting regime. I see so many drivers when visibility drops for 15 minutes or so with no tail lights on and it’s not their fault.
Let's be honest we all didn't know how to cut the fog lights on
I'm with you and thru a search I found this video.
@@desiderious1 Me too.

anyway to adjust the lane change signal from 3 blinks to something more than 3? I'm not sure this edit exists so any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks. What are parking lights?
I have the same question and can’t find an answer
Edit: Never mind. I googled it. They’re just lights that aren’t as bright as normal lights for when you are parked and just need your car to be visible, such as when parked on the side of the road.
Cutting the lights on and off... does anyone know where the term comes from?

What’s the point of the left and right arrows above the fog lights?
I still can't figure out how to switch off the main headlights while using the fog lights though...
