LETS DO THIS!
Hello, Mrbeast. I love your videos.
Whats up mr beast we can save the earth!
Legend 💯
Thank you so much for doing this project.
LETS GOOOOOO
It’s amazing how people have already donated more than 8 MILLION dollars in just a few days of this being announced. Thank you to everyone who is supporting the movement! :D
“8 mil”
It’s 10mil right now, 2 million in 5 hours is an achievement.
Wait so in 5 hours they donated 2 MILLION $???? Did it show 8 million when you clicked the video?
It's 10 million now
I wish I could say this movement would do something. The problem is 30000000 million pounds is practically nothing in comparison to how much is in the ocean. As was said in the Mark Rober video we need to block off the sources that are feeding the trash into the ocean.
This is just a example of, one person isn't much, but a community, when it comes together can do something massive, 10 mill in 4 days, but there are billionaires who could easily do ten times that and they don't care, yet their corporations produce the most
Fun fact: The ocean is actually the world's largest carbon sink, which means that it absorbs more CO2 than anything on the planet; this is due to tiny microorganisms called phytoplankton (algae, tiny plants, etc) that photosynthesize. The ocean absorbs more CO2 than the amazon rainforest.
Most ocean plastic is from *fishing nets* ! Why does noone talks about this?
I had seen this on the documentary *sea spiracy* on netflix.
@@AyaJuni hey me too. I agree that more people should be talking about this! Seaspiracy is awesome
That is literally said in the video...
This still does not excuse burning gas and dumping trillions of plastic into the ocean.

RUclips has taken world movements out of the hands of corporate bosses and the 1%. These two might be the 1% tbh but they are just different than businessman and politicians. Love this movement and how much traction its gained. Need a lot more projects just like this

Definitely need to find a way to get the massive companies that contribute to this problem to invest in the cleanup. Companies like Coca Cola, Pepsi, P&G, etc.
Very good point. This is a good opportunity for these companies to accommodate some of the damage they have caused.
@@ok4412 they’re the whole problem and green washed consumers into believing they were at fault

@@epic_.l if it's not made it won't pollute. If nature friendly alternatives are available, they are purposely not used to save money. That's corporations faults. Not consumers.
This whole thing is bs tbh. Is garbage in the sea a problem? Sure, but the real issue that is wiping out aquatic life by hundreds of millions every year is overfishing. The fishing industry is the most brutally violent and destructive practice human beings partake in and the crazy part is they’ve managed to pollute and destroy the entire ecosystems at such insane levels but some how convinced every day people that it’s our fault and we need to drink out of paper straws to solve the problem.

Was it only one billionaire that put all this plastic in the ocean? We all did. If only one person paid for this, it wouldn't raise much awareness. Getting us 'normal people' involved, it creates a thought process which hopefully means a larger number of people will refrain from making this worse or doing it again...

There are indeed 5 major garbage patches, however the "great Pacific garbage patch" is tremendously larger and obershadows the others in the news.
It isn't the average human that needs to change. Go after the company's that cause the majority of pollution. Get them to pay fines and they would easily make their 30 million dollar goal.

I really love how Mr Beast is able to reach such a large audience that he is able to address these environmental problems we are facing and pull people together to find a solution. I believe that the internet has caused us to underestimate the people around us and because of that, nobody wants to be that first voice who starts the change. Mr beast was willing to ask for $30m and because of that, and his large following, he very well may get that money and make a huge change (and if he gets less he still puts it towards the job proposed). He isn't the only person/company capable of doing this on such a large scale and I would love to see it continued. Even when it comes to resolving small community issues, I feel like sometimes humans aren't open enough about the problems to come to a solution.
We need more large projects like this but on top of that, we need to start replacing plastic packaging with paper, biodegradable plastic, glass and recyclable packaging.

@DragonHeero I mean he planted 20 million trees and he has 70 million subs so if he scams us it will be a disaster for him
@DragonHeero technically it is a scam, just like team trees. 15 billion trees are cut down per year, how does 30 million trees make any difference whatsoever?
17 ,000,000,000 pounds of trash are put into the ocean every year, 30 ,000,000 pounds will make no difference whatsoever especially when you consider this is not ongoing or expanding like the input of trash into the ocean, this is a one-time thing.
@@bmxscape it is still a good start. You just want to make it into a negative thing when what they’re doing is spreading awareness. The goal is to make the ocean have less plastic waste. This is absolutely amazing, I'm going to donate now. Huge respect to everyone making their part!
@picklefan12 Fix your grammar first. + How are they scamming us? do you even have any evidence that can prove that they're scamming us? It's Ocean Conservancy that collects the donation.
@picklefan12 do u just care about ur money not the environment? Rude
@picklefan12 fatherless behavior
@picklefan12 if it is a scam, they could get arrested by now and RUclips wouldn't donate 400K to teamseas
@picklefan12 Go touch some grass fatherless child XD.
Jeff Bezos could probably donate the entire 30 million dollars to help the planet all by himself and not even notice it missing from his bank account.
Lol its true
His wife alone gave more than 950 million dollars for global climate change

Also if you put seafood like canned tuna in a microscooe, you will find plastic. The reason for this is because of the dish donsuming the plastic thrown by humans into the ocean.

I hope not to swim in a sea of plastic in years to come. This initiative is amazing and is helping save the planet. It’s nice to see a RUclipsr do such amazing things.
i wish you well in clean water mr./ms frog
The USA is by far the most environmental unfriendly nation in the world. Place some pressure on your politicians if you want to change something.
@Bonkers so he has almost 11 million because he's uneducated? Makes sense
@Bonkers Thats your logic? Bruh
@Bonkers I mean, removing 30 Million pounds of trash is a start right, if we do nothing then the whole ocean will be a trash filled wasteland.
This is amazing! Doing what Governments and Companies wont! Wouldn't it be nice those responsible help out too!
Finally people are talking about the ocean.

I got my boyfriend and I to donate! I love this stuff! Great job :')
Sad truth is at this point 30 million isn’t enough, but it’s a good start, more than any government has accomplished.
GO FOR IT!
could be vastly more if a really rich someones would be so gracious and donate some really big bucks, but only if they keep track of these videos, at least some channels, but im doubtful
It's not even close to be enough, but the thing is, projects like this creates traction, and the more people start engaging in such projects, more companies will start putting money on it because their reputation will benefit from it, so it creates a loop of helping the planet, that's why "small"( I know 30 million USD is not small, but you get it ) projects help a lot.
Its not just the money, its the 100 million views these videos will get across hundreds of RUclips channels, getting attention from lots of people, some will stop littering, some will join cleanups, some may become scientists or conversationalists.
Lets go another brawl stars player

@picklefan12 exactly
This is something I care but can't do :(
@picklefan12 As much as I agree humans are scums, I want to help the earth tho and I just want to do good, there are many bad people in the world, but seeing others step up and make the right changes that our own governments don't even try brings me a little hope.

90% of this plastics pollution comes from only 1% of the world's rivers and by placing these cleanup boats at the mouth of these rivers we can cut 90% of this pollution off at the source. So, this effort will make a huge impact on our oceans. Go TeamSeas!
No personal spending, no show off etc just being a true influencer and saving the earth, truly enjoying his life. Love you Mr. Beast.
An influencer is one that has influence and easily affects their audience (primarily into action). As long as that is satisfied, you are a "true" influencer. Whether you think their cause is good, bad, neutral or a waste of time doesn't make an influencer any less "true" than any other.
This comment is pedantic and is only critical of the misuse of the word "true" in your comment. This is meant purely as constructive. Have a great day.
Yeah sure, "no show off". All his videos are based on flexing how much money he has, his thumbnails are full of luxury cars. He has a full on fast food chain and has the luxury to ask his friends (who are also millionaires) what type of burger they want named after them. Cleaning oceans is the least they could do. And it'd be wonderful if they did this more often, not once in years.
@@vlr7368 still better than all the billionaires who don’t do anything for the environment

My brother told me that Mr. Beast is essentially the protagonist of the Earth's whole story, and.... I honestly believe it. Mr. Beast is doing more for this planet than people with WAY more money than him even consider doing. I wish everyone with money and power were as considerate and kind as Mr. Beast is.
@@iaqh I’m sorry but this is the stupidest comment I have ever seen. For one there are so little billionaires, and the ones you can find don’t have money in cash or in actual money. It’s in stocks and investments.
@@KFC0717 hold on I gotta find your boot
@@KFC0717 what’s stopping them from liquidating 1 billion in assets to help?
@@everolivares5834 oh my lord, IT DOEANT WORK LIKE THAT. The amount you sell a investment for may be less than when you originally bought it, therefore the investor would be loosing that money. Plus, trying to get “liquidized” money even from investments you have made money off of is extremely difficult and most billionaires wouldn’t do it, because it’s a massive risk and doing it would more than likely result in the loss of MILLIONS. The sad truth is, is that most billionaires don’t care about using there wealth to help, they just care about making more and more and more and what investments and stocks that are not beneficial, they won’t buy.
Well Boyan Slat started this in 2020. With actual ocean cleaning using special ships and machines via Ocean Cleanup globally. They are still clearing up the great garbage patch in Atlantic.
Diatoms are pog, this is also a really good video for those who haven't ever looked at this before.
