You got a great deal. I have owned 4 MGM's, and loved every one of them. They are super reliable as you know, and fun to drive. My First car 27 years ago was a 1988 MGM. Beautiful.
I used to own a Grand Marquis ,good car. When I was done with it I passed it on to my son.He then passed it on to his brother. Finally the car ended up in a smash up derby. But the car served us all well.
Another great find! I'm pretty sure you'll have this looking great in no time. I wish we got these over here in the UK (although they probably way too big for our roads). What happened to the range rover sport I remember you were saying you were waiting for parts and it wasn't priority at the time.
Hey Big Al, My car looks exactly like this. Mine is a silver 07 GS with 91 K. Owned for five years and it had 43 K when I bought it. Actually having it detailed as we speak. Mine had the dreaded paint peel common on these cars. Had the roof, rear quarter, and passenger fender repainted and replaced the hood with an exact match. One thing about the hubcaps. I've only seen one with the round inserts. All the rest were off, including mine. I have three in the trunk. Very expensive to replace as they commonly fell off over time. Plus they get loose on the hubcaps to begin with. You got a great deal! Thanks, Joe ...
I appreciate your love for your collection. At almost 52, I remember many of these cars when new. I've always been a huge malaise era fan. I've had multiple Panther platform cars over the years, including the one I own now. You can't beat it for room and comfort, especially when highway cruising. I get tempted to look for something else like an 08-11 Avalon (love their style), but I know I won't find another car like this that I know the history on and such as I'm only the second owner. Sorry for chatting your ear off. Take care, Joe.
I bought a Marquis in 2017 for 5K. It had 32,000 original miles, lived in a garage and had no mechanical issues. The owner kept a diary of repairs on a book in the glove box. I still have this car, now at 53K and still running smooth. It was a So. Fla. car so there's zero rust to worry about. My only kick is the radio has no aerial and there's no place for one, so reception is not the greatest. A drawback of '99 MGM's.
Thank you for the panther love Al! I think this is the first one you’ve done since the town car you had with the sagging suspension? Always good to see you bring it with these cars and get them ready for resale. I’ve had my 04 CVPI since 2006 and you really can’t beat them for all around reliability comfort and adequate performance. Cant wait for part 2

She had a rougher life than most would think a one owner car with only 50k on it. I'm guessin' the owner didn't or couldn't love it as much as she could have been loved, but she's a solid little beauty. And with a little bit of TLC, I'm sure the next owner will be over the moon with her! Great Find!

The seller said it was a clean title it was a salvage title which I didn't find out until week after I bought it for $3000. It was a money pit I let it go in June 2018 for $1500.
