What's especially frustrating about Cars 2 is that Lightning's face is front and center in most of Cars 2's advertising, implying that he's the star. So, WTF is he throughout most of the blasted movie? It's 95% Mater and espionage BS, 4% terrible car puns and bathroom jokes, and then 1% Lightning McQueen and racing. Unfortunately, the most invisible part of the movie (aka the 1% dedicated to Lightning's racing career) was the portion of the movie I actually really liked. I felt like I had been trolled by Pixar. I didn't even need an Incredibles, Finding Nemo, etc sequel instead. I just needed Cars 2 to be a different movie entirely because it has nothing to do with part 1.
It might as well be. Cars 3 is SO much better. It's just too bad that the emotional impact of the movie is lower than it should've been. Instead of Cars 3 feeling like the end of an era the way Toy Story 3 used to (before TS4), it feels like a last-ditch attempt to get an mismanaged franchise back on track after it had been run into the ground and dragged through the mud for a good 11 years or so. Cars 3's biggest problem is that it's the follow-up to the most maligned movie in Pixar's lineup. There's not really any major problem with the movie, aside from it being somewhat predictable and having some cliches here and there. Those are 2 traits that many Pixar movies and other great films share.
No cars two did it ruin Pixar I think it ruined the cars franchise that’s why the cars franchise is seen as a cash grab I actually really like the first cars it’s one of my favorite Pixar movies I think the first cars is pretty underrated but the SQL did ruin the cars franchise not only was the sequel just a cash grab but it basically broke the formula of the franchise instead of it being a racing movie it’s now a spy movie the first formula for the first cars movie was that it was a racing movie not a spy movie but the sequel completely break that Plus why does cars to have so much killing like geez the first cars didn’t have that so why put it in the sequel
Cars 2 didn’t ruin EVERYTHING. I know the studio started becoming more hit and miss as the years went on, but they’re still able to pump out masterpieces, like Inside Out, Coco, Toy Story 4, Soul, and even to some extent Luca. They still clearly have the same magic and charm that makes their movies a must-watch.
I wouldn't call TS4 a masterpiece. I'll give you Inside Out (haven't seen Coco, Soul, and Luca yet), but the ending to TS4 ruins the ending to TS3. In the ending to TS3, Andy promises Bonnie that Woody will never abandon her. We know what happens in TS4, though. Plus, I don't recall Buzz needing to press a button on his spacesuit so that he could formulate a plan. He was pretty adept at planning out rescue missions in TS2 in Woody's absence, for example, so I have no idea why he became so dumb in TS4. I'm not looking forward to TS5. TS4 was really pushing it, and it was a miracle that TS4 was okay instead of being a total disaster. TS5 just sounds like a bad idea. It's not something I could've seen Pixar making back during their peak in the late 1990s and 2000s.

Cars 1: A pretty mediocre Pixar movie but it’s a good start to would lead a painfully average trilogy Cars 2: Really stupid spy movie that literally doesn’t mention anything from the first cars Cars 3: This is honestly the most meh movie I’v seen in my life like the only good thing about this movie is that it’s better than Cars 2 at least
