I kinda hate that Cars 3 is just about Nascar again. The World Grand Prix was an amazing feature. It's rare for a Pixar movie to actually explore around the world, not just America. And Jacksom Storm being the next gen in Cars 3 only wins Nascar? Can we make him race in a street circuit?
I liked Cars 2 because of the world building and lore behind the different cars. None of the cars were just for show. They had reasons behind their makes and designs. They all even had canon backgrounds. It also showed that there was more to Cars as a whole than just racing. Severely underrated film.
I actually think that this is the best movie in the cars series. Even though a lot of people think it's the worst, I really enjoyed the spy-part as well as the racing. I've watched it a ton of times, even at my current age I still watch it sometimes.
I think its a good movie but a bad cars movie, let me explain: its so different than the original one that it feels like another franchise. So then if people go in expecting the original cars they get something very different, and this makes it feel like a bad movie. While it isn’t perfect i think it doesn’t deserve some of the hate it gets.
Excluding critic reviews, for the most hated Pixar Movie, Cars 2 is very popular. If u google the movie, 84% of people loved the movie, so that's only 16% of hate. That's not a lot. Not to mention, I google all the Star reviews for Cars 2, and approximately, 70-80% of people gave it five stars, i gave the movie a GPA average based on the stars and it averages out to 4.1 stars. It get more love than people think it gets
Yupp, it actually broaden the context for this whole cars world, like if i watched the first movie again, i can comfortly imagine that a whole unique cars world exist around that movie
I loved Cars 2, but the multi-class racing logic was super cringe, honestly. If there was more mechanically logical stuff going on in the WGP, I would watch the movie over and over again. I just go back to watch Mater's epic lines and pure gold comedy lol
People are very right in saying this should have been a "Cars 1.5". We expected a racing sequel to Cars 1 and we didn't get that. But show Cars 2 out of context to someone who hasn't watched Cars 1 and he'll love it
Spot on. Cars 2 was the second Pixar movie I had watched as a kid, and I loved it. As a standalone film it's fine, but as a part of the Cars franchise, it isn't.
Your right, but still if anyone wants to pretend Cars 2 never existed then use Cars Race O Rama and Mater National Cars 1.8 and Cars 2 With Cars the Video Game being Cars 1.5
I used to watch this movie every day back in 2nd grade, I could even play the whole fking movie in my mind with all dialogs and sound effects. wtf is wrong with me
Nothing... I assume. What 7 year old is a film critic? The reason I loved this movie when I was going was because of the action, music, and humor. It was easily my favorite movie for a long period of time. Even if you hate it nowadays, I wouldn't discount your old Alex's opinion just because of your own or someone else's opinion.
I’ll admit the part where mater mistakes wasabi for ice cream and the Japanese chef fills his plate and says my condolences, gets me every time. My kind of dark humour
Cars 2 is just so confusing and was executed as more of a spy and violence-forward movie. If there was less Mater and more McQueen, more racing, and less violence, I think Pixar really could’ve made a great sequel.
The problem was they tried to make two films in one, a spy film combined with a racing film. It just didn't work. Or, we can just say 'Too much Mater'.
See, i’m convinced that if they took out the spy stuff while still focusing on some of the friendship aspects and the fuel stuff, it could’ve been a half decent sequel
Bro what? The first scene where that blue car was with the bad guys is legendary, that scene alone is better than the whole cars 3 movie. And if it was only focused on that it would be boring just like cars 3
Not the worst concept I’ve ever seen or heard from a movie, and the background is BEAUTIFUL with some heavy script refining and maybe a few scene rewrites this could’ve been a better movie.
I didn't know that the real life racers changes depending on region, it's really impressive that they actually decided to re render these scenes just for that.
Ah yeeeeeaah! 🔥 I remember being six and seeing this in 3D in Thailand. I didn’t understand what they said but it was so epic. And it was my first experience of watching a movie with 3d glasses. So I sat there in the movie theater and thought I was so cool with my ”spy glasses” 😎
Cars 2 is my favourite movie. At the time it came out I was 6-7 years old and I loved the action, the places and graphics( the clearance of the sequences), the ,,international racing cup,, factor, the friendship, the cool cars and the fact that the funniest character was in the center of attention, seeing a lot of depth in him. Cars 2 is a kinds movie. It doesn't have to follow some rules. It just needs to be interesting for kids.
Here's the thing: Cars 2 is a very fun cartoon to watch. However, for a movie that had roughly the same budget as Avatar (one of the most expensive films produced, btw), it definitely didn't live up to expectations. This movie is a fun kid's TV show, like Ninjago or Fairly Oddparents, but of course, those two shows have far lower budgets. Pixar films should have great plots and character development, and this just didn't seem like a 200 million dollar movie. It would make a good spin-off show, but that would not make enough money to justify the budget.
Cars 2 is genuinely my favourite cars movie next to Cars 1. It's action packed, the plot _does_ make sense, and I love the world championship/spy-movie aspect to it!
The plot doesn't make sense, it assumes that instead of just selling oil the bad guy would come up with a fake alternative and then make it look bad on purpose to make people choose oil over it which is just completely ridiculous. They try to frame it that that was supposed to convince people that all alternatives are bad, but that's the type of logic only an 8 year old could buy.
@@Piterixos they'd make it look bad so people go to oil WHICH axelrod has a stake in (along with the lemons, cuz they own the oil rigs we saw at the start) tldr the lemons want to get richer
I still love this movie and watch it regularly because I watched it in the movies on my 7th birthday and I still remember the day like it was yesterday. Pure nostalgia
Who else notice when the race in the radiator springs mater raced McQueen with his rockets and he said 'they let me keep the rockets' but in cars 3 he didn't have those rockets
It was really dark, we saw characters compacted into cubes, scatter their car guts into water, get crushed to death by service elevators and the reflection of one getting burned out. I surprisingly enjoyed it as a kid (though the fact that only half of it was actually about racing and it started with a BOAT was out of place and the scene where they revealed the mangled corpse of that red spy car legit frightened me)
Everyones talking about the spy thing, im over here questioning how could McQueen struggle to catch Mater, a _tow truck_ , with said tow truck driving *_IN REVERSE_*
I actually really liked this movie. it just brings back so much nostalgia. it had many great jokes that even many adults would enjoy. it didn't really fit in with the movies and pulled out a lot of bs and plot armor but it was still pretty good! I suggest everyone rewatch it to fuel their memories.
fact: Cars 2 is actually the best, but everyone hates it because its not a good sequel. Another fact: If a movie is a bad sequel, its not immediatly a bad movie
John Lasseter: "So we wanted to take a new direction by making an action flick to follow up a racing movie." Vin Diesel: "WRITE THAT DOWN! WRITE THAT DOWN!"
Cars 2 is definitely a fun movie, but maybe it would've gotten less hate if it was titled differently. People would assume that it's a sequel that is directly connected to the first movie but really it's like a movie spin-off about Mater and his Spy Fantasies. I mean, it shows because of how Cars 3 barely referenced anything that happened in Cars 2 and is more like the Cars 2 that we should've gotten.
I personally loved the film because it felt closer to home. Because the film had a little bit of james bond and a gt championship in the middle. In other words two of my favourite things blended. Plus this film was translated to my language. And it had the best line ever. The bit where mater eats wasabi. And gets confused with the name
i wish the world grand prix was the main plot of this movie, it would be amazing. imagine the fastest cars of each country, going head to head with mcqueen, racing through the world. sadly we didnt get to see much of the wgp and literally every car except mcqueen and francesco were trash. i was expecting all of them to be really fast and give mcqueen a hard time.

And Jacksom Storm being the next gen in Cars 3 only wins Nascar? Can we make him race in a street circuit?
Cars 3 was also shit
@Zidni Imani exactly
@The name is Wolfff Yeah the ending felt like it was made to fill political agendas
If you dont ovethink this movie this is a great movue
And yeah its great
Obviously your opinion
I think its a good movie but a bad cars movie, let me explain: its so different than the original one that it feels like another franchise. So then if people go in expecting the original cars they get something very different, and this makes it feel like a bad movie. While it isn’t perfect i think it doesn’t deserve some of the hate it gets.
Oh no it’s definitely the worst of the trilogy but it’s nowhere near as bad as many people say it is, it’s just near impossible to live up to Cars 1
I unironically like this movie more than any other Pixar movie except Cars 1

Cars 2 is still better than some Pixar movies
Excluding critic reviews, for the most hated Pixar Movie, Cars 2 is very popular. If u google the movie, 84% of people loved the movie, so that's only 16% of hate. That's not a lot. Not to mention, I google all the Star reviews for Cars 2, and approximately, 70-80% of people gave it five stars, i gave the movie a GPA average based on the stars and it averages out to 4.1 stars. It get more love than people think it gets

People are very right in saying this should have been a "Cars 1.5". We expected a racing sequel to Cars 1 and we didn't get that. But show Cars 2 out of context to someone who hasn't watched Cars 1 and he'll love it
I mean, cars 2 was a good film and i'm saying this as a person who watched cars 1 , but cars 1 is definitely the best film from the cars franchise.
Spot on. Cars 2 was the second Pixar movie I had watched as a kid, and I loved it. As a standalone film it's fine, but as a part of the Cars franchise, it isn't.
I loved it.Inspite of watching cars 1. Thought the plot is completely out of placd
Your right, but still if anyone wants to pretend Cars 2 never existed then use Cars Race O Rama and Mater National Cars 1.8 and Cars 2
With Cars the Video Game being Cars 1.5

Cars 2 is just so confusing and was executed as more of a spy and violence-forward movie. If there was less Mater and more McQueen, more racing, and less violence, I think Pixar really could’ve made a great sequel.

I honestly wonder what I’d think of the movie now
Honestly I really still love it even now. I don't why there's so much hae for this movie
The problem was they tried to make two films in one, a spy film combined with a racing film. It just didn't work.
Or, we can just say 'Too much Mater'.
Mater is at his best in short spontaneous appearances irrelevant to the actual story. Like when he drives backwards all crazy.
My family actually likes this movie. It’s was a ok film despite what people say.
It's the first cars film i remember, and overall, it's a really good film, tho not really a racing film.

It’s great cuz it’s trying something new besides racing

Cars 2 just felt like an animated James Bond film.
And Cars 3 is Rocky 4
Cars is what made me a Nascar fan.
Plot Twist: *Only a LAP in the whole race*
There actually was 3 laps as you can see by the pit stop times and the locations of where they are during the race.
Tokyo was 52, Porto Corsa was 60 and London idk
See, i’m convinced that if they took out the spy stuff while still focusing on some of the friendship aspects and the fuel stuff, it could’ve been a half decent sequel
The only time that I laughed at Cars 2 is when agent Turbo turned into a redstone block from Minecraft
what annoys me about this movie is that if they actually just focus on the “world grand prix” plot it would actually turns out into a great movie
And also if There Was No Unnecessary Violence
Bro what? The first scene where that blue car was with the bad guys is legendary, that scene alone is better than the whole cars 3 movie. And if it was only focused on that it would be boring just like cars 3

As a kid I really loved the spy aspect of the movie, and therefore like it for nostalgia
WHEN I WAS LIKE 9 I LOVED THIS FILM AND I STILL LOVE IT. for some reason cars 2 just has a special place in my heart.
Same i used to always watch this every time I go to my aunt's house.
this movie is super nostalgic and was my favorite in the franchise as a kid because of the weird spy theme they did which i thought was really cool
You’re right, it does.
@@Piterixos they'd make it look bad so people go to oil WHICH axelrod has a stake in (along with the lemons, cuz they own the oil rigs we saw at the start)
tldr the lemons want to get richer
May not have been a good “cars movie” but it was such a cool movie to watch and looked incredable I love it just because it’s so badass
The BOP in “The World Grand Prix” would have been the funniest thing in the world!!!
Francesco, you get a 500kg ballast. John, you get F1 grade tyres.
“He’s still playing hide the dipstick with Sally” haha 😂😂
You Know what that means. 😗
I mean, Mater is the world's best backwards driver.
Also, he had a rocket by that point in the movie, so there's that.
@@Power_Harmonia wonder how those rockets would work on reverse, cuz reverse trust would leave quite a burn on his back

All I remember thinking while I last watched this was “McQueen, he has a bomb, how many more times does he gotta repeat it until your listen?”
