Soshi The Yoshi I followed the Cars franchise RELIGIOUSLY after the first movie came out. I bought the movie on Blu-ray when it first came out, I have pretty much ALL of the diecast models they released, and now I own the 4K Blu-ray of the movie. I was excited when the initial teaser trailer came out in 2009 *correct me if i’m wrong* Of course after the rest of the trailers came out and such, and the reviews started coming in, I was more than skeptical. I was annoyed & infuriated. I get it, cars is admittedly kinda stupid. But the first movie wasn’t *that* stupid. As the years passed I thought they would *NEVER* make another cars movie EVER again. Then 2016 rolled around and ya know how that went. I consider Cars 3 to be the REAL Cars 2. I like to pretend that Cars 2 *never* happened. Because the movie itself neglects it’s existence.
i really enjoyed this video until 8:11, after that i kept thinking about the fences and how people can't fit through those fences either, then i realized the whole purpose of fences is to keep things out so why would it be a problem if the cars can't fit through the fences, oh fuck what if he meant the space between the fence and the wall? no, he couldn't have meant that, right? wait a second how did nick even notice the fences, they're such a small part of the scene what the fuck i'm 12 minutes into the video and the whole time i've been thinking about fucking fences, now i have to go back to 8:11 so i can watch the video from where i left off but that means i have to watch the fence part again.
In that case he would have put the mask to the radiator wich actually leads the air to the engine. I think they actually have lungs and need oxigen for their organs
Cars 2 is actually so dark. As a kid I never understood it that well but once your older u realise how many cars were killed and how dark and evil the storyline is

I actually love Cars 2 subjectively, and I feel very biased towards it because of a certain Leap Pad interactive ebook a played a lot, but I can't defend it. There is no character growth, the plot is pretty stupid, I must admit, and it totally undermines the first movie. Cars 1 is pretty underrated, that had a good plot and character growth, and I think people only hate it because of the car gimmick (which isn't that bad. I grew up with Nintendo, I know gimmicks). Either way, I love this movie subjectively, and I'll always remember it as that quirky movie I used to watch.
Honestly IMO Cars 2 is not as bad as people think. I mean why not create an incredibly massive world full of cars with creativity all around with an actually dark plot that mind you MAKES SENSE if you thought about it for a minute. Also why is everyone like "iT tAkES aWAY eVErYthInG fROm tHE fIrSt mOVIe" like dafuq you want? Another boring copy of racing shit like cars 3? Also I think the people saying "the plot is stupid and there is no character plot" are either just dumb and are having trouble comprehending the fact cars are doing this and are still stuck on that dilemma or are just completely blind. Early on in the movie mater was portrayed as an idiot to everyone and the media in the event which hurt mcqueen's reputation for having a dirty towtruck as a best friend which tackles racism a bit. Then after Mater was kidnapped by Mcmissile and forced to tell a fake alibi to his friend which makes mcqueen very sad and more accepting of mater later on. Then they examine some evidence on who may be the leader of operations on the largest oil field in the world and since yknow oil is like needed for cars and stuff it's important. Anyways they notice the box of wheels in the corner which is a unique set of wheels which is owned by axelrod who is the twist villain working with the other unwanted easily brokened cars who want to take over the world by having a monopoly on the oil industry owning the largest oilfield in the world. Why are they doing this? It's because of discrimination against their type of cars, this tackles racism again because lemons are known to be garbage cars who always break and are laughstocks by every car ever. But you can't really discriminate lemons when they literally can dictate whether or not you can drink oil (which is their equivalent of water which is a big deal yknoe) so yeah the story is VERY complex and is definitely NOT STUPID it's just easily misunderstood as this towtruck getting kidnapped by some secret agents who are fighting a mafia. TLDR: When rewatching into cars 2 I suggest that you accept the fact that they are cars and take into consideration the dialogue which involves the plot because trust me it is SO much easier when I did that.

It's a great movie I believe, it's just that it betrayed what made Cars 1 good, this could've been a good movie if it was just a spinoff featuring mater rather than an actual movie. Cars 2 was a movie that should've come out after we concluded the story of lightning mcqueen, after introdcuing new characters, and fleshing out the world.

Mater's Tall Tales were my favorite as a kid. At first I didnt understand that none of them actually happened, so when I watched Cars 2 I was like "why didnt he just fly like he did in the UFO one?"
Cars 1 was made in the memorial of Joe Ranft who passed away during the production. He was the man behind the story and truly the whole heart of the movie. I can really understand that since the other cars movies didn't include him they just kinda died In a way.

Simply put... It isn't a sequel to cars, is just an agent movie shoehorned into the cars universe. It doesn't have anything to do with the first movie other than the characters nad universe it is in, and to have a sequel, you have to first, recognize what the first one was sll about, and second, figure what made it special. First cars wasn't just a movie that also had cars as protagonists. Is a love letter to car culture, racing, and a story about learning that life isn't a race, but a trip that you should enjoy while it lasts, and drive it's highways alongside others.

If helps the radiator keep your engine from overheating, it allows the pistons to fire correctly, etc. You don't want your engine to flood because that can permanently disable your vehicle. I personally think that the cars 2 problem is similar to the pirates of the Caribbean case where they turned a character that excelled at being a side character to the main character.
i respect your opinion but will (as i assume you’re referring to) was a main character in the first film, and so was Elizabeth alongside jack. Those three were the stars of the original trilogy of pirates movies and I don’t see how the “side character” got turned into a main one?
Noah Falk Jack Sparrow wasn’t meant to be a main character. He’s not the one who’s arc we really care about, he doesn’t change throughout the film. He’s still a side character, a fantastic side character but still a side character nonetheless.
Jack may not have an arc but he has a major goal, the villain has much more to do with him than to do with Will, the final fight ends with HIM killing the villain, the final scene ends with HIM escaping Port Royal and reuniting with his new crew. There’s no way I could in good faith call Jack a side character when you consider just how many of the events in the movie have to do with him. He’s a deuteragonist or tritagonist, depending on whether or not you want to place Will and Elizabeth on the same tier of importance.
Theory: Chick hicks was behind everything in cars 2, he tried to kill McQueen so that he could be the best racer, and he hired all the bad guys from cars 2 to help carry out his plan.
Honestly, I think Cars 2 would’ve been better as an episode of Mater’s Tall Tales. Therefore, it could be argued whether it’s canon or not and would only be like 3 minutes long.

I saw 1 and 2 when I was a kid, and I always imagined Docs huge wreck that ended his career, but when I saw him just spin out that was the most anticlimactic thing I ever saw and crushed years of imagination. Also I hated how they just called Lightning slow the whole time like he’s incapable, and cap it off by benching him at the end. If he can catch up to Ramirez multiple times while training then how in the world is she faster than him??? They benched all the original characters, Mater, Sally, Mac, everybody. They could have even mentioned Finn Mcmissile as an Easter egg or something. I wanted Lighting and crew VS next generation not him whining and training the whole movie just to get sidelined. You didn’t need to add a single new character at all, they could have brought back Chick Hicks or something, that would have been insane. The begging crash was cool, then there was no action the whole time. LAME!!!!! Cars 2 was exciting for me, and there were subplots, rivalries, jokes, and everything

It's just cars 1 that is too special and too good, so that nothing can match it. Just like when Mazda introduced the RX-8 and people still missed RX-7, Honda brings the New Hybrid NSX, and many people still prefer the old NSX. I don't think it was a rip-off. It also wasn't that awful, but certainly not the best. The idea was interesting but the design and final plot failed. It ended up being quite boring and the koala was ugly, like come on, at least make good designs even for a plot-twist villian.

Cars 1: One of the most nostalgic movies I’ve watched and honestly underrated Cars 2: Liked it when it was young due to how stupid it is but it’s just terrible Cars 3: Has the more realistic plotline than the first movie because the Cars 3 shows a more realistic side of motorsport and a solid movie overall.

Cars 2 was unique and weird, but in a good way, probably my favourite disney sequel. I liked how the film used Mater's perspective, its rare to see a sequel, but told from a protagonist's friend when the protagonist is still on the story. Yes, its isnt as good as the first one, but its better than the third one. Though, i hope they didnt make a 4th movie since it'll ruin the open ending the 3rd movie has, just like they did to toys story.

for the uninformed at 9:48 onwards the car does not have hair, the car shown(the mother of franceco) is a Ferrari 312/F1 from around the late 60s. the reason it seems to have hair is due to the way the exhaust is mounted. it's called a snake exhaust system, it is used to distribute the fumes around the area to not disturb the center of gravity or other things that might unbalance the car
I grew up watching this movie almost everyday when I was 5, and to me then it was the best thing ever. I was surprised to see that not many people enjoyed this movie as much as I have, to be fair I haven't watched since 2014. It definitely isn't the best movie ever, but I remembered really liking it.
I will never agree with y'all on this for multiple reasons. 1) it didn't "ruin the franchise" Idk what y'all even mean by that but people love Pixar and still watch it all the time, 2) it wasn't bad at all and kids love it. It was action packed, the story is pretty deep and dark for older viewers (if they watch), and it did have heartfelt moments about having a friendship between people of 2 very different backgrounds. And 3) it is a KIDS MOVIE. I'm sorry but if you don't like it and you're over the age of 14 then it doesn't matter. If you don't like it then feel free to watch something that was actually made for you. "I don't like it!" Probably because it's not for you. All 3 movies were beautifully made, Cars had action, inside jokes for parents watching with their kids, life lessons, and was always about friendship or was just very heartfelt. This is honestly exactly how I feel. I love the movie , but critically it’s not good.
It's a great movie I believe, it's just that it betrayed what made Cars 1 good, this could've been a good movie if it was just a spinoff featuring mater rather than an actual movie. Cars 2 was a movie that should've come out after we concluded the story of lightning mcqueen, after introdcuing new characters, and fleshing out the world.

Mater's Tall Tales were my favorite as a kid. At first I didnt understand that none of them actually happened, so when I watched Cars 2 I was like "why didnt he just fly like he did in the UFO one?"
Cars 1 was made in the memorial of Joe Ranft who passed away during the production. He was the man behind the story and truly the whole heart of the movie. I can really understand that since the other cars movies didn't include him they just kinda died In a way.

Simply put... It isn't a sequel to cars, is just an agent movie shoehorned into the cars universe. It doesn't have anything to do with the first movie other than the characters nad universe it is in, and to have a sequel, you have to first, recognize what the first one was sll about, and second, figure what made it special. First cars wasn't just a movie that also had cars as protagonists. Is a love letter to car culture, racing, and a story about learning that life isn't a race, but a trip that you should enjoy while it lasts, and drive it's highways alongside others.

The mouths are their air intake grills basically. You need air intake to help a car run. If helps the radiator keep your engine from overheating, it allows the pistons to fire correctly, etc. You don't want your engine to flood because that can permanently disable your vehicle. That's why you see lots of offroad SUVs and even some military vehicles with "snorkels" on them!

I personally think that the cars 2 problem is similar to the pirates of the Caribbean case where they turned a character that excelled at being a side character to the main character.
i respect your opinion but will (as i assume you’re referring to) was a main character in the first film, and so was Elizabeth alongside jack. Those three were the stars of the original trilogy of pirates movies and I don’t see how the “side character” got turned into a main one?
Noah Falk Jack Sparrow wasn’t meant to be a main character. He’s not the one who’s arc we really care about, he doesn’t change throughout the film. He’s still a side character, a fantastic side character but still a side character nonetheless.

Jack may not have an arc but he has a major goal, the villain has much more to do with him than to do with Will, the final fight ends with HIM killing the villain, the final scene ends with HIM escaping Port Royal and reuniting with his new crew. There’s no way I could in good faith call Jack a side character when you consider just how many of the events in the movie have to do with him. He’s a deuteragonist or tritagonist, depending on whether or not you want to place Will and Elizabeth on the same tier of importance.

I saw 1 and 2 when I was a kid, and I always imagined Docs huge wreck that ended his career, but when I saw him just spin out that was the most anticlimactic thing I ever saw and crushed years of imagination. Also I hated how they just called Lightning slow the whole time like he’s incapable, and cap it off by benching him at the end. If he can catch up to Ramirez multiple times while training then how in the world is she faster than him??? They benched all the original characters, Mater, Sally, Mac, everybody. They could have even mentioned Finn Mcmissile as an Easter egg or something. I wanted Lighting and crew VS next generation not him whining and training the whole movie just to get sidelined. You didn’t need to add a single new character at all, they could have brought back Chick Hicks or something, that would have been insane. The begging crash was cool, then there was no action the whole time. LAME!!!!! Cars 2 was exciting for me, and there were subplots, rivalries, jokes, and everything

If they kept Mater’s spy story be a side story it would’ve been a better movie because what made the original movie iconic was the life lesson that winning isn’t everything while Cars 2 lacked a message as most of the movie was essentially just Mater being a spy as McQueen has a rivalry with Francisco.

It's just cars 1 that is too special and too good, so that nothing can match it. Just like when Mazda introduced the RX-8 and people still missed RX-7, Honda brings the New Hybrid NSX, and many people still prefer the old NSX.

I don't think it was a rip-off. It also wasn't that awful, but certainly not the best. The idea was interesting but the design and final plot failed. It ended up being quite boring and the koala was ugly, like come on, at least make good designs even for a plot-twist villian.

Cars 1: One of the most nostalgic movies I’ve watched and honestly underrated
Cars 2: Liked it when it was young due to how stupid it is but it’s just terrible
Cars 3: Has the more realistic plotline than the first movie because the Cars 3 shows a more realistic side of motorsport and a solid movie overall.

Cars 2 was unique and weird, but in a good way, probably my favourite disney sequel. I liked how the film used Mater's perspective, its rare to see a sequel, but told from a protagonist's friend when the protagonist is still on the story. Yes, its isnt as good as the first one, but its better than the third one. Though, i hope they didnt make a 4th movie since it'll ruin the open ending the 3rd movie has, just like they did to toys story.

@@IcyDiamond I mean, the reason why Cars 1 and Toy Story 3(but Cars 1 more) are my favorite movies of all time is because i learned a LOT from these movies. They taught me about friendship, not everything is winning(since i was the best student at my school) and yeah there are even more things but that the reason why i adore these films
for the uninformed at 9:48 onwards the car does not have hair, the car shown(the mother of franceco) is a Ferrari 312/F1 from around the late 60s. the reason it seems to have hair is due to the way the exhaust is mounted. it's called a snake exhaust system, it is used to distribute the fumes around the area to not disturb the center of gravity or other things that might unbalance the car

I grew up watching this movie almost everyday when I was 5, and to me then it was the best thing ever. I was surprised to see that not many people enjoyed this movie as much as I have, to be fair I haven't watched since 2014. It definitely isn't the best movie ever, but I remembered really liking it.

I will never agree with y'all on this for multiple reasons. 1) it didn't "ruin the franchise" Idk what y'all even mean by that but people love Pixar and still watch it all the time, 2) it wasn't bad at all and kids love it. It was action packed, the story is pretty deep and dark for older viewers (if they watch), and it did have heartfelt moments about having a friendship between people of 2 very different backgrounds. And 3) it is a KIDS MOVIE. I'm sorry but if you don't like it and you're over the age of 14 then it doesn't matter. If you don't like it then feel free to watch something that was actually made for you. "I don't like it!" Probably because it's not for you. All 3 movies were beautifully made, Cars had action, inside jokes for parents watching with their kids, life lessons, and was always about friendship or was just very heartfelt. Who dumps on a KIDS movie like this? Y'all are *miserable* 💀✋🏽

the problem with cars 2 is that it is nothing like cars 1 or 3, its completely different from the rest and devalues the entire franchise because of it. a franchise about accepting urself the way u r and being a good person is interrupted by boom bang clash wheee spy movie, yes its fun but it is purely made for kids and even i as a kid found it disappointing when i first watched it

I think the movies have less meaning now because nascar is less relatable to people and it might be a factor in why the 3rd feels off and strange
1st - Creators when they’re small and before monetization
2nd - Stretching their Videos into the 10 Minute mark and just money hungry
3rd - Smarter people criticizing their videos and trying to find a way to make your content good again

I think it would’ve worked better if the stories were switched where McQueen racing is still the main story whilst Mater’s spy story is the side story, not the other way round like we got (this probably didn’t make sense but oh well)
