Today we'll be using 3M VAS (Visual Attention Software) to create, test and refine a package design for sausages. We'll integrate the software into our design process to check the predicted sequence of viewing areas of our package and iterate upon them until we reach a final design.

I think it's great! At the end of the day, what we love is your design process, if it's easier for you to do the screen recording, keep doing it! This was still such a good video, I honestly didn't even notice that you did less animations.

Hey man, I love the fully animated videos a lot, but I really like these screen recording segments as well! They give a bit more insight in how you create your designs. I liked your first packaging layout more too, feels more visually balanced. Great video once again, keep it up!
Thanks for the feedback! I think I'll be doing more videos with the screen recordings + animations. They are quicker to make as well, which should mean I can post more often 😄

I just binged all your videos from oldest to newest and they were fantastic! I loved the new editing style you got into but was sad that you didn’t really include the actual in app work anymore, which is what made me feel more connected and like I could do it too…..but then there was this video! Great one, I think this incorporates the sponsor even better, because we can actually see you designing, which is the part most of us are probably interested in. I really liked the fully animated ones too, but they seem like mostly theory classes, this is the best of both worlds, really nice. I am looking forward to the more regular uploads

This video was so interesting! I wish this was a series. Your final creation actually has a similar layout to all the meat products at the grocery stores and I just found that so interesting since clearly there is a correlation.

clicked on thumbnail as fast i could! love how the tutorials just keep increasing quality. I do gotta say, if we think of the "Pork Sausage" as a whole unit we could add the percentages each word has and it does have the main focus and then it would go down to "uncured and naturally smoked". I also think thee first design feels more balanced. Perhaps is the designer bias haha.

6:19 I think the first package has a better gaze sequence because people will first see what TYPE of sausage they are looking at, cuz obviously it is a sausage and they already know that.

i think the uncured and naturally smoked text took so much attention because its a little lopsided, which is very apparent when compared to how centered everything else is
I think the first one is the best because the uncured and naturally flavored are like the diferentiating factors of the brand like it would probably be along many other pork sausages it would be like yes I can see that but this one is different because: And also visually its gorgeous!!

Not sure I trust the analyses from VAS in this instance, AI can certainly be helpful, but I think having a human tell you what a human notices is still very valuable... either way the results of your work is amazing.

In this situation i guess you can fallback to the attractiveness bias principle. As in the design which is more attractive will be percieved as being more functional irrelevant of whether it is or not. Let me know your thoughts guys.

Hmmm, I would say the AI is wrong
I'm sorry but the fact that it says that the uncured text is the most attention grabbing is not a demonstration of why having one of these tools is good because it shows when something isn't how we expected it. What is a demonstration of is the fact that this tool doesn't know what the hell it is talking about
It doesn't work tho. The picture of a sausage part of the logo is the attention grabber.
