Mysticalillusions Cod is meant to be a historic/modern shooter. Whats the point of turning futuristic apart from jumping on the bandwagon to make money. We've already got loads of great futuristic shooters like Crysis and Halo. The future setting has become oversaturated with practically every new game being set in it like titanfall, destiny, and cod. The awe factor of the future has disappeared because of this, and now (imo) all the futuristic shit is boring as fuck

+Runis So they ruined the game and sold it for the same amount of money. Yeah some places just put a number 2 on game titles and people buy it even if it's crap. I got both for $20 on my PS3 was a bundle deal on Amazon so I went for it. Still haven't finished it stuck on the container section where they sneak around the corner and waste my ass. I need to find a cheat code I guess so I won't die. Have the same problem on Bad Company 2, I get inside the church and when I get down to the last dude, I end up getting wasted and can't continue.

Just recently replayed BO2's campaign with sgssaa and sweetfx and I have to say that these crappy screenshots don't do justice to the game at all. Some of the levels (like the first modern one in the rain) can look absolutely gorgeous and it feels like a solid improvement overall compared to Black ops 1's brown and grey aesthetics.

Black Ops 1 didn't look that great at the time. Modern Warfare came out before it and looked much better. The story for Black Ops is what carried it, not the graphics.

I came here to check my hypothesis that new call of duties have stronger and more cinematic shadows. Does anyone else see it?
My take is that there the strong shadows makes it look like a cartoon and less like I’m living it… Yes, it’s more realistic, but I feel like some level of ambient light (like in old call of duties) matches the fact that light bounces.

Balck ops 1 has better darkness and low light which makes it look realistic. In black ops 2 and 3 brightness is soo much and reflections are less which make them look unrealistic.
I love cod and especially the bo series its my favorite, bo1 was my favorite cod of all time and bo2 was amazing, I really liked the campaign story, cod bo3 was great but the campaign was a let down, it was a let down to the bo story because of the new characters and future stuff.

I think this is the same graphics engine that ran Shoe Sport Champions and Goats Frost Stratagem - The Chase Within
The graphical part of the engine can be overhauled. You guys don't understand. A lot of engines have the same base code as the first revision such as frostbite. The engine doesn't matter. Activision is just putting nothing toward the net code and the lag. And that's the problem
i feel like BO1 zombies graphics was a bit better then BO2 zombies graphics cause BO1 zombies actually had teeth.
I seem to recall Modern Warframe (the first) looking on par with Black Ops 2... even if I'm mistaken, the difference definitely isn't big. Only Black Ops 3 finally manages to visibly improve graphics.
COD is just weird now. It started with zombies, but now there's time travel, monsters, weird power ups, and all sorts of strange stuff.
It's starting to push into Saints Row 2 territory now.

Blops 2 looks on its futuristic levels. These "jungle past time" levels they showed on the video dont make justice to the blops2 engine

To be honest both black ops and black ops 2 had decent graphics as long as you don’t look at the details too closely. Black ops 3 was a whole different story though. Black ops 3’s graphics really were something else. Black ops had very low details but the colours were really good. Black ops 2 improved their graphics but the colours got worse. Especially in zombies and Black ops 3 had both great graphics, attention to little details and good colours. My favourite game is still Black ops 2 followed by black ops and then black ops 3. Of only black ops 1 and two could be released on the next gen consoles! That would be the ultimate dream!

well i do believe black ops 3's graphics do not reach the meta of what we have today, its still passable. Some of the multiplayer maps look visually stunning and have great (but somewhat inconsistent) texture quality. The motion capture in most of treyarch's cods were top notch.
