Definitely true. At least BO3 had a campaign. It wasn’t good in my opinion, but at last it had SOME sort of campaign that gave it story and character. Campaigns are what give Call of Duty games their soul and personality, because they give you a story to get into and create the environment and aesthetic as well. Also the fact that how new and different the multiplayer for Black Ops 3 was at the time, gave Black Ops 3 a sense of individuality and made Black Ops 3 its own thing. Black Ops 4 on the other hand just feels so empty. There’s no campaign or story whatsoever, and it feels so bland with the gameplay literally being Black Ops 3 with just some class based/hero shooter like mechanics which didn’t fit at all. All of the specialists from the pervious game were literally reused, with, what? A couple new ones thrown in there? Woopdee Doo. There’s no personality, lore, or character to Black Ops 4. It feels more like a bunch of goofy looking blokes shooting each other.

Sparrow from bo3 actually took some skill to be good at. I realized on Bo4 they made it a little easier to shoot the arrows since you have a scope on the bow but bo3 required your own accuracy

Like I much prefer Battery's grenade launcher, Firebreak's flamethrower, and Ruin's gravity slam thing from bo4.

You’re telling me his weapon takes less skill than the flamethrower, guard dog, wall hacks (literally just the press of a button and viable at any point of a game), grenade launcher, gravity slam (also just a press of a button when someone’s nearby), and hand cannon revolver (it’s a hitscan weapon that one-shots at any range)? I agree it’s pretty overpowered once you get comfortable with it due to the electricity linking and amount of ammo you have to get the kills, but that doesn’t mean it takes the least amount of skill to use. You still have to time the shots at least, and you almost always need to 2 tap someone in a 1v1 encounter, which means more time you have to spend on each kill. Also, if you’re playing in high skilled lobbies, the dog gets killed pretty quickly. Usually only gets like 1-3 kills, sometimes none if they are prepared for it. You can also just use gravity slam or the grenade launcher to kill it instantly for example. At a high skill level, you have a higher chance to get more kills on your own with the other special weapons/abilities (or as a team if you’re using Crash or Recon’s ability). Though in lower skilled matchmaked games, the dog does end up getting a lot of free kills lol so it depends, sometimes the dog gets shutdown instantly and sometimes it goes on its own kill streak and feels broken, which I guess is what makes Nomad an interesting choice. He’s one of those specialists that depends more on chance or on the enemy team making mistakes, as technically players can completely avoid his wall/trip mines too, but they often don’t because they either miss it from not paying enough attention to the screen or are running around carelessly just hoping they don’t. I also just think the idea of bringing an attacking animal into the fight is pretty cool though
I find it funny that they replaced the campaign with BR in BO4 and it was awful, yet in modern warfare’s BR warzone it was a side project thing made up of spec ops maps and they threw it in later for good measure and it has ended up the most successful BR since fortnite and PUBG 😂

Also considering the fact about PUBG, they were possibly the first realistic Battle Royale made and possibly still is at a cheap price. Yet, I'm pretty sure that's why all free BRs are all well known. WarZone even followed in a few of Fortnite's footsteps with the explosion of loot when you kill someone and the color coded rarities. Also, Verdansk has been in the game ever since day one so they could have dropped it then...but they didn't for God knows why and I find it lackluster that they still haven't added another map to play on like Blackout highly successful Alcatraz that they both had to make without reusing their whole big area. They even had seasonal changes that affected the atmosphere, most notably the Halloween update and Spectre's Rising when the dam blew up and flooded the map. The armor system in Blackout was fair since a specific armor gives you sniping protection so you won't be insta-downed with a sniper that doesn't account for travel time nor bullet drop. Those armor plates on WarZone is a massive crutch that people need to rely on while in Blackout, you can make do with the lowest tier of armor. Plus the fact I can still find a lobby in less that 2 minutes with prestiges 5+ proves that Blackout isn't dead and the sweats aren't either. Yet, the campaign wasn't abandoned at all, it was just in the form of a boot camp styled mode to help you learn the lay down of Bo4. And before you accuse me, yes, I do like Blackout a lot more than I do WarZone but I'm not shitting on WarZone either because it was pretty well made and thought of.

When they removed a lot of the dialogue in BO4, it hurt the presentation. Even though they did fix the specialist weapons, they really should've stayed half useless to incentivize proper gunplay. Now they fixed the weapons, and they break BO4. I hate how they removed Ruin's scream. His loud and boastful persona was what gave him personality, and all these characters being homages to MW2 voice chat was great in BO3. BO4 is just lacking any personality or theme aside from being replaced. The whole game feels like a joke where they couldn't make this game, so they made Cold War instead. Even Woods in the Specialist HQ cutscenes seems bored. RIP.

@@iamzanja They could have at least TRIED is the thing. Ditching the campaign was *not* a good idea. If they went back to Black Ops' roots, do something that actually makes sense instead of Bo3's "train go boom", but still try to freshen things up a bit, that would've been far better. They experimented, they failed, they should've learned from that as that's the point of failure, and they didn't. Innovation comes from taking risks and doing something new; just not doing a campaign at all is a coward's decision no matter how Bo3 was received. For all we know, if they actually tried, we could've gotten another Bo2-esque campaign; new, but not too foreign, not perfect, but not terrible either, and with some kind of interesting twists, both in the plot and how the game is structured, such as Bo2's multiple choice missions, and hell, maybe it would've had some likeable characters or a mission on par with All Ghillied Up...but we'll never know if it would've been good or bad because they didn't take that shot. You could argue it would've definitely been bad, but who knows? They could've pulled out something interesting.
Bo4's specialist have way more counterplay with the sound clues and cooldowns, so you can expect the abilities happening, on Bo3 was all over the place and a lot of times there was 4 Batteries with the body armor bullshit or the GL

I'd rate the multiplayer a 1/10 and the zombies a 5/10

I've been playing the shit outta bo3 multiplayer (I got it on pc for customs zombies but, I've played almost 300 hrs on zombies and have gotten a bit bored, so I decided to take a break with multiplayer) and let me just say this: people who shit on the jetpacks haven't even played the game. Like it's so good for getting rid of campers, and I litterally can't find a single valid reason as too why they're bad. It's integrated into the game really well and Ballanced. The complaint I mostly hear is that people can just jump out the way of a gun fight. That never works (believe me, I've tried) because it's just a different way of playing, uve just gotta get used to the fact that people can move in another direction, and aim accordingly. I used to be one of em blind bo3 multiplayer haters, but after playing it for a while, it's actually been quite fun. The only complaint I have is the loot boxes and loot box weapons. Some of that shit is so broken, but then again alot of em are just basically reskins of previous weapons. Still, doesn't excuse it, but most people that play it now don't really use the broken weapons, and the og weapons also have some brokenness to em too so it's not too bad. All in all I thought that bo3 was pretty underrated and I don't understand why people hate it so much. Was it the best multiplayer? Course not. Weapon balance and original map design was thrown out the window for some weapons and maps, so I don't think it qualifies as one of the "great" multiplayer cod experiences. I just think that it's a pretty decent game. Also zombies is god tier in this game, probably my favourite game for zombies in cod. specifically.

When they removed a lot of the dialogue in BO4, it hurt the presentation. Even though they did fix the specialist weapons, they really should've stayed half useless to incentivize proper gunplay. Now they fixed the weapons, and they break BO4. I hate how they removed Ruin's scream.
His loud and boastful persona was what gave him personality, and all these characters being homages to MW2 voice chat was great in BO3. BO4 is just lacking any personality or theme aside from being replaced. The whole game feels like a joke where they couldn't make this game, so they made Cold War instead. Even Woods in the Specialist HQ cutscenes seems bored.

Yeah Outrider's bow and arrow and Reaper's machine gun are the only thing I would change from bo4 when it comes to specialist weaponry. I prefer the bo3 version of Outrider's bow and Reaper's minigun arm. But with every other specialist weaponry I prefer bo4 to be honest. Overall bo4 has the better sound effects and gameplay mechanics for the rest. Like I much prefer Battery's grenade launcher, Firebreak's flamethrower, and Ruin's gravity slam thing from bo4. I think Bo4 is getting too much hate in these comment sections, it's a little disappointing that there wasn't much difference between bo3 and bo4, but the multiplayer from bo4 has its own perks. The way I see it, bo4 is a more realistic and believable version of bo3, but bo3 might still be a bit more fun at times.

Edwards Baron why do you care about campaign so much? They did a good desicion to replacing campaign with blackout, remember the bo3 campaign? It was considered a fiasco and they probably removed campaign to avoid another campaign disaster
@@iamzanja They could have at least TRIED is the thing. Ditching the campaign was *not* a good idea. If they went back to Black Ops' roots, do something that actually makes sense instead of Bo3's "train go boom", but still try to freshen things up a bit, that would've been far better. They experimented, they failed, they should've learned from that as that's the point of failure, and they didn't. Innovation comes from taking risks and doing something new; just not doing a campaign at all is a coward's decision no matter how Bo3 was received. For all we know, if they actually tried, we could've gotten another Bo2-esque campaign; new, but not too foreign, not perfect, but not terrible either, and with some kind of interesting twists, both in the plot and how the game is structured, such as Bo2's multiple choice missions, and hell, maybe it would've had some likeable characters or a mission on par with All Ghillied Up...but we'll never know if it would've been good or bad because they didn't take that shot. You could argue it would've definitely been bad, but who knows? They could've pulled out something interesting.

Bo4's specialist have way more counterplay with the sound clues and cooldowns, so you can expect the abilities happening, on Bo3 was all over the place and a lot of times there was 4 Batteries with the body armor bullshit or the GL

I tried giving bo4 a chance but the game is just so much worse than bo3. the weapon balancing is garbage. armor and specialists are annoying. it's all recycled content. zombies was also horrible when compared to bo3. the maps were pretty bad, awful perk system. the pack a punch system was complete garbage. the new chaos crew was garbage. I'd rate the multiplayer a 1/10 and the zombies a 5/10

I've been playing the shit outta bo3 multiplayer (I got it on pc for customs zombies but, I've played almost 300 hrs on zombies and have gotten a bit bored, so I decided to take a break with multiplayer) and let me just say this: people who shit on the jetpacks haven't even played the game. Like it's so good for getting rid of campers, and I litterally can't find a single valid reason as too why they're bad. It's integrated into the game really well and Ballanced. The complaint I mostly hear is that people can just jump out the way of a gun fight. That never works (believe me, I've tried) because it's just a different way of playing, uve just gotta get used to the fact that people can move in another direction, and aim accordingly. I used to be one of em blind bo3 multiplayer haters, but after playing it for a while, it's actually been quite fun. The only complaint I have is the loot boxes and loot box weapons. Some of that shit is so broken, but then again alot of em are just basically reskins of previous weapons. Still, doesn't excuse it, but most people that play it now don't really use the broken weapons, and the og weapons also have some brokenness to em too so it's not too bad. All in all I thought that bo3 was pretty underrated and I don't understand why people hate it so much. Was it the best multiplayer? Course not. Weapon balance and original map design was thrown out the window for some weapons and maps, so I don't think it qualifies as one of the "great" multiplayer cod experiences. I just think that it's a pretty decent game. Also zombies is god tier in this game, probably my favourite game for zombies in cod. specifically.
