I finally made music with the Super Nintendo game Mario Paint! INSTAGRAM ► / leviniha TWITTER ► / leviniha SOUNDCLOUD ► / leviniha SPOTIFY ► open.spotify.c...
Little Big Planet has a pretty extensive set of music composition tools. You should make a beat in that! I made 3 covers in the past, so it's definitely doable.
I'm so happy you used an emulator instead as it holds more true to the limitations of the original game! I have the original cartridge and whenever I see these "newer" Mario Paint song videos, they're always made with the online one where you can do things like use more sounds and put up to 5 notes on a single line. This inspired me to play my game once again and try making more fun sounds! Thanks for the awesome video!
There's an entire community of people that use Mario Paint to a pretty high level, what they do is set the tempo up extremely high and then place all their overlapping beats within the surrounding semiquavers to exploit the ambiguity created by floating point values. It just quantises the sounds to the nearest crotchet.
That turned out awesome Levi! I used to use Mario paint composer every day during summer break when I was younger! I found out that if you want sharp notes, hold down shift and click. Ctrl + click placed a flat note. Hope this helps!
I remember playing this as a kid for hours. Then my cousin came over and made music effortlessly with it and it blew my mind. All those sounds are so ingrained in my memory, which if this game was released in 1992 I was like 3 or 4 years old so that's insane lol. Thanks for uploading this, what a nostalgia trip.
I have an idea...it's a thing I've done a couple of times. Take assorted bits of your weekly recycling and clean them up to use them as instruments: bottles, cans, boxes, etc. Basically...a junkyard beat. It's a lot of fun.
@Probably merlin We’re not sure yet I'm not an expert or anything, but if "ableton" functions similarly to how I believe Synthesia runs, I see no reason why he couldn't use it. _tl;dr - sure go ahead use ableton_
You should be able to overlap notes, way back when I was using this it allowed me to, there is other cool things you can add to the notes like sharps and minors control-click for flats, shift-click for sharps. Just look up some tips and controls that add other additions to the composer, you might also have a older version there they might allowing you to do other cool things!
Make music with Mario Tennis!
SIMON! I absolutely love your music!
That should be easy just take the sound bytes and edit them together

do the sequel:
USE MARIO MAKER!
Yeeeees
Well he did it now
there is no music composer in that game, and it's not much of a sequel...
@@forhisneutralspecialhewiel4446 but he did it anyways
“This is not sounding too good..”
What do you mean? I cant make a good melody if my life depended on it!
Have you tried
3:42 Sounds like the 8-bit Keys theme.
Yes, that's what I thought!
Ye
Omg, I thought the same thing!!
Sounds like geometry dash

"How's that?" *plays small creation, laughs* "Gross."

This guy deserves much more subscribers

Next you should make a song using only Minecraft Noteblock Studio!
Or inside of minecraft itself

“Ahahaha! Gross...😖”
He just says t so casually🤣
Wow didn't know Dolan Dark was in this game
6:56 save me from my misery and move that Mario just a semitone higher. Please. For the children.

Hello guys! I didn't expected that i will visit you here xD
3:40 who else thinks that that sounds like the intro to the 8 bit guy
The dog and cat sound was used in Undertale?
I'm so glad someones bringing mario paint back I always loved it
when i listened to the music u made i thought the neighbour was beating a pot with a frying pan.
i used to play this a lot in the early 90's great game!!
4:11 sounds like the bully theme song game from rockstar
Bruh, did he just remix his song at the end? 😂
Everyone else: NICE SONG!!
Me: megalomania
When I heard the bass my brain started playing hexagon force
Just found tons of Easter eggs in Mario maker that originate from this game
I could tell the struggle was real here. The song turned out amazing none the less.
I‘ve been waiting for this my entire life
Mario: I like this sound
Levi: Nah
Mario: (sighs) you change your mind to much.
Making music in Reaper :))
Dude that final music was so coool i want it for my phone!!!
5:00 That actually sounds really good!
Why you even disslike?!? I dont get it. This is awesome. Grate work!!
I have an idea...it's a thing I've done a couple of times. Take assorted bits of your weekly recycling and clean them up to use them as instruments: bottles, cans, boxes, etc. Basically...a junkyard beat. It's a lot of fun.
5:16 literally sounds exactly like the How Its Made song
I just commented on that
Fuck
i want this is as my ringtone wth
this is great dude
Sans: Am I a joke to you?
Finally I've been wanting a Mario paint video
The beat sounds like the 8 bit guy intro
5:05
Reminds me of Megalovania for some reason...
Please continue to make music in Mario Paint videos! 🔥
THAT WAS SO DOPE!!!
Duuude right at the end of the video when you put those reverby effects on it made it sound soooo much better!
This is what I've been waiting for! Thanks for this!
The start of the finish product sounds like “How Its Made”
The bass line is the same as 8-bit keys intro
OMG, I used this back in 1992 and still have the 2 tracks I composed with this program.
Super Nostalgia Bros. Programming, coding, and music by Levi Niha
The first part on the song sounds like a Sims 2 background music :o
8:39 is the finished product. Yourwelcome
BustPlays OOf
I couldn’t stop laughing at mario jumping up and down continually at the top 😂
levi niha, now make music with microsoft paint
Dolan dark stole your comment, I'm sorry for your loss
F
The plain and the game. Boy sounds like sweet dreams
Make music with steamed hams
It wasnt steamed clams?
Omg yes
ooohhh, so that's where most of the mario maker stuff come from.. i never understood the dog, or the baby sound lmao
i’m in love with the bass lol
The beat at 5:17 sounds like something marshmallow would make no ? Ok
:) yes
the first one wasso good dude
That’s sound like part of the Alia intro at 1:48
All the music is good INCLUDING the first one just to see not the drums before 316
I was hearing the the bully scholarship tune underlying it lol
bro you are AMAZING, i love your music!!!!
3:43 - sounds like old intro music for The 8-Bit Guy....
This reminds me of making music with Octavia's Mandachord in Warframe
When he put the Mario and fire flower and said it was bad I thought it was good and started to rethink how I listen to music
Wow memories fr the cat and dog sounds
The planes with hearts sound like one of bully's soundtracks
And to think that people have recreated through the fire and flames using this. I guess with time, anything is possible.
I finally subscribed after watching some of your vids
There is a fan recreation of the composer on a website and it has a lot less restrictions.
If you use the yellow backwards E thing at the far top right corner of the screen next to the heart you can end earlier if you like
I remember using Mario Paint to make music when I was younger. It was a lot of fun, and I wish I could still use it.
I still own this game for my SuperNes, it's fun to watch people create music from the game in 2019
doctor: aww it’s a beautiful baby boy
my mom: 0:46
A legend named NintendoCapriSun made “Don’t Stop Believing” in a minor key with this
you could have uped the tempo and had even more free range of what you can do, but just right it more spaced out so you can add more sounds
You can't fool me, that's the How its Made intro theme
5:06 you feel like you are going to have a bad time.
The thing he made with the hearts and planes sounds like the bully soundtrack
That outro was not at all necessary and this is why we love your content.
That was enjoyable to watch, thank you for this!
It sounded pretty good to me. I'm no musical snob. But it beats at least two things. Rap and random keyboard mashing (like, not even trying)
u can use the =|:||| icon to stop the song early
Wow Mario maker took a lot of inspiration from this game
This is totally the exact How Its Made song at one point lmao
Next time, try importing all of the sounds into synthesia and play the music with your launchpad
@Probably merlin We’re not sure yet Advanced beats with the audio
@Probably merlin We’re not sure yet So you're not limited to 3 notes per beat, and you could add extra effects like fades, equalizer effects etc.
@Probably merlin We’re not sure yet I'm not an expert or anything, but if "ableton" functions similarly to how I believe Synthesia runs, I see no reason why he couldn't use it.
_tl;dr - sure go ahead use ableton_
The point was to make music in Mario paint, not music with sounds from Mario paint. This makes it more challenging.
Synthesia isnt a DAW though.

only true music producers make music with Mario paint
Every time I'm like "heck ya this is soundin good!" He's like "this sucks". Then I'm just like 😐
0:57 NEW DAY ROCKS NEW DAY ROCKS
omg the outro
5:03 Accidentally Megalovania
The outro music had me like "nani??"
