“We don’t mourn musicians because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.” Thank you, Meatloaf (and Mr. Steinman) for helping me to know myself - and for helping me to know my father. Your music will live on in all of us.

You made my rock and roll dreams come true since I was 9 years old. That was when I first heard "I Would Do Anything For Love". Everyone else was listening to BSB and I was blasting "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights". He had some hard times and so many health issues but despite it all he really left his mark. I'm so happy I saw him in concert in 2016. His voice wasn't as strong any more but he was still iconic and he put on one helluva show. Rest easy Meat. ❤🦇

Both "Meat" and Jim gone to soon. More talent than 100 years could hold. I was glad to have seen Meatloaf in concert a few years back. He joked about having another cardiac on stage. I totally get it, he put ALL of his heart into his music.
"Every golden nugget coming like a gift from the Gods, someone must have blessed us when he gave us those songs" Thank you Meat (and Jim) for blessing us with hundreds of golden nuggets, we are truly blessed. Thanks Meat for the live concerts, great songs, amazing memories, and a beautiful voice. RIP Sir your legend and music will live forever
I think it is more of a psychopomp/spirit-guide thing. He's this magical elf-thing living in a magical realm of rock and roll, stepping across time and space, sometimes by using a magical motorcycle, to find the lost and broken and desperate. He rips open holes between worlds by exploding the musical connections (the jukeboxes) between them, and he guides the people who need help with the power of music, saving them from their own despair and confusion.
It took brass balls and mad passion for a big man like Meat to get up on stage and belt ‘em out like he did! He had great hits & even greater hidden gems! Underrated always and so many times dismissed…but a true legend to his many fans! RIP.
I have loved his music from the age of 12, when I first heard him perform on SNL in 1978. When I was sad or needed motivation, I would play his songs on full volume. They never failed to pick me up. I won't grieve for him because so long as I have his albums, his spirit will live on. Thank you for the songs and the memories.
I played this for my late wife, shortly before she died, because she knew I was a troubled youth, who evolved. To watch her health fail was troubling to say the least, but this song helped us connect again before it was too late! :D
I’m 40 and this man brought me to this how I call it theatrical rock and roll! Off all the missed opportunities I’m sad I haven’t had a chance to see him live!
I love that the song's lyrics may initially make you think this is another cheesy love rock n roll love song, but then the music video puts the love into the context of the paternal love of a father and how music connects people and brings them joy no matter race, sex, or economic status.
Meat Loaf is the undisputed GOD of ballad rock! Huge love for a huge man! That was not intended to be an insult, but a complement of how much I have always thought of the man. I don't think anyone will be able to replace him.
Meat Loaf gave us the gift of MAGIC with his voice and his entire persona! Mr Steinman and Meatloaf are heaven sent pathfinders! I listened this song so much when I just lost my 16 year old son to suicide in 2008. It gave me such HOPE… that there’s still some LIFE left in me! Meat Loaf is a gift to our planet! God bless him! 🌻🌺
I'm sorry for your loss. The loss of a child in that way doesn't really get easier as the years pass as he was not really old enough to have made and understood that choice. I am glad that you found some comfort and solace in the music, lyrics, and performance of Meatloaf. He was always about spreading a unique message of love over adversity and time. All of his love songs were about the singular power of love that binds us together forever. Joy to your spirit and to your son's spirit. It is never too late for a soul to strengthen and grow from his mother's love.
I"m 62. I have only cried twice when I heard about an artist having died. Elvis and Meat Loaf. Meat Loaf's and Steinman's music got me though some very hard times and I still fall back on it.
I was 16 when this album came out. Fell in love with it. The entire album is incredible. Listen to this song with a stereo that has serious subwoofer bump. You'll feel this song in your bones and heart!!
Looks like a big budget video. Not all artists are given that much money to make videos...or the video producers don't have a clue how to make a good video. They should watch this to see how it's done properly.

I mean, I know he's gone, but I don't think the "forever" part has sunk in for me yet.
Sometimes, I wonder if it ever will...
Is that weird?
I lost my father November of 94. I actually got the Bat out of Hell 2 cd from him for Christmas in 93. I spent a lot of time listening to it trying to find the way out of the dark after i lost him.

I'm sorry for every one who lost some one in these comments. 😢 be blessed and comforted by our Lord Jesus Christ everyone.
Hey I'm 62 years old and still listening to Meatloaf 😊
75 and still listening
Yeah, man🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I just can't get over that line "someone must have blessed us when he gave us those songs"...'
Man, this is music 😎🥺❤💥💫
RIP Meatloaf
Jim Steinman had a way with words. ❤️
Video is like Therapy for some of us.
❤
"There is always something magic" when we listen to your songs...RIP ❤
❤️❤️
Listening to Meat Loaf's songs just because he Has left this World, but He's not forgotten and will never be. RIP
You blessed us when you gave us your songs. RIP legend
This song gives me chills. RIP Jim and Meat. Keep on writing in heaven.
With Judith Durham, Olivia Newton John, and Meat Loaf joining the Heavenly Choir this year, the angels will be truly rocking Heaven!!
ohh he will 🤟
@@SparkiGal Add Jim and Janis and Jimi, the OGs who are welcoming him!
Rest in peace Meat Loaf Your songs, Your Energy, will always be a part of me Thankyou
Hi Megan I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this compliment. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹
Both "Meat" and Jim gone to soon. More talent than 100 years could hold. I was glad to have seen Meatloaf in concert a few years back. He joked about having another cardiac on stage. I totally get it, he put ALL of his heart into his music.
RIP Meat Loaf. When you really really needed it the most that’s when Rock ‘n Roll Dreams come true!
I'm 68 years old and still rocking to Meatloaf
55 yrs. old here and have always loved Meatloaf, since the 70's...2 outta 3. :)
me too at 75!...Meat and Jim were a fantastic team. this is 1 of their best.
@@larrybaker5316DITTO.
You go 68years young not old
I'm 74 and the thought of never listening to him neve entered my mind, I can sing them all
Que voz privilegiada. Un enorme artista. Descansa en paz Meat Loaf.
💔
Pocos como él... 💟
I am 65 and love meatloaf!
Meat Loaf vocals at it's best. Jim Steinman lyrics at it's best. Pure perfection. Keep on believing and rest in peace Jim
And now they're together, doing their magic again!
Every song of his, was my favorite. His voice was unique and powerful. R.I.P. Meat, you will definately be missed.
Nobody else could sing Jim's song like meatloaf
Can we say he is the Ultimate God of Rock and Roll. I have been loving and listening to his music since I was 14 years old.
Well I’d put some people over him but he definitely near the top
Robert Plant. Meat Loaf not far below.
RIP Meat Loaf. Your hits will live forever. Thanks for all! ❤
One of the first music videos I really remember watching as a kid. It really hits different rewatching as an adult. RIP Meatloaf.
Rest in peace Meatloaf, you are loved and missed Terribly by all... BUT YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
Meatloaf as an avenging angel, vanquishing evil with exploding radios and jukeboxes. Gotta love that.
Right. I love how he rips the kid from the backseat of the car
I really like this explanation of the meaning of this video
No, he's a messenger. What is helping the people is MUSIC.
The song is essentially a hymn to the power of music.
@@Johnny96ri thank you for your explanation
Wer wie ich beim hören dieses Liedes eine Gänsehaut bekommt, gibt mir einen Daumen hoch 👍🏼
To moj hymn 1994 kocham
Dann noch das Video dazu mega
Sogar beide Daumen hoch für dich !!
This still is the most beautiful music video I have ever seen. Meatloaf plays an Angel saving several lives.
I'm with you brother, I'm in my 50's and this song comes a long way...what a great performer he was
It took brass balls and mad passion for a big man like Meat to get up on stage and belt ‘em out like he did! He had great hits & even greater hidden gems! Underrated always and so many times dismissed…but a true legend to his many fans! RIP.
Not one song by meat loaf is bad, but this one of my favourites. Just love the talent of this guy, he is a legend.
I’m 52 years old and feel nothing but hurt in my heart !! This song sends me back to 1986 with my high school sweetheart .
Don't be sad it's over, be happy that it happened ❤️
Me too. So many hours listening to this in make-out spots :)
Didn't this song come out in 1993? ;)
@@xlpraetorianlx Yes, I discovered this song and the whole album back in 1993, while living in the US for a while
@@xlpraetorianlx the original song came out in the early 80s, by Jim Steinman / Rory Dodd. This one is a cover. Perhaps that's it.
RIP Meat Loaf. Great Singer. Rock and roll dreams come through, my absolutely favourite song.
Jim's genius will live on through the amazing songs he wrote . RIP Jim, you were a gift from the Gods and we loved everything you wrote. Rock on 🤘
I’m 40 and this man brought me to this how I call it theatrical rock and roll!
This is one of my all-time favorite Meatloaf / Jim Steinman songs!
Thank You!!
Ok n8te
To each their own, I perfer the Steinman version of this one. But this is a great song and Meatloaf is a great singer so I love listening to it to.
When I was 13 in 1993 I heard I’d do anything for love the video on mtv after that I was hooked and now I own almost every cd he has had came out
Meat Loaf is the undisputed GOD of ballad rock! Huge love for a huge man! That was not intended to be an insult, but a complement of how much I have always thought of the man. I don't think anyone will be able to replace him.
Live how his songs and videos always told a story like this video
Rest in peace legend 😭
🌟27.09.1947-✝️20.01.2022
Thank You Meat Loaf
Meat Loaf gave us the gift of MAGIC with his voice and his entire persona! Mr Steinman and Meatloaf are heaven sent pathfinders! I listened this song so much when I just lost my 16 year old son to suicide in 2008. It gave me such HOPE… that there’s still some LIFE left in me! Meat Loaf is a gift to our planet! God bless him! 🌻🌺
So true, this song is about hope, I am sure this song has saved so many lives. The song bring tears to my eyes many times!
Steinman and meatloaf such a great combo those guys made 2 of the best rock albums of all time
R.I.P Jim, without you things wouldn't have happened
His music videos were like true productions with a theme! Kids, this is what a true storyteller looks like.
Rock opera
Michael Bay loves him some exploding motorcycles! :) And Jim writes very operatic songs.
He's just the singer lol
And JIM STEINMAN'S amazing music and arrangement
Looks like a big budget video. Not all artists are given that much money to make videos...or the video producers don't have a clue how to make a good video. They should watch this to see how it's done properly.
I am 67, and I STILL LOVE MEATLOAF AND HIS MUSIC ❤❤❤
