I have the ulanzi vl120 RGB and I love it! The battery life is great and the light is bright. Might buy a couple more in the near future. I 110% reccomend these!
I'm loving all the little LED lighting options that have been coming out. I use to have the VL49. I used it mainly for adding some extra flare to product photography or just out doing night shots. The VL120 is a similar one in the same price range, a little bigger with a better battery and magnet and comes with a snap on diffuser. It's supposed to be like the Aperture MC RGB. I actually gave away my LV49 to someone on a European trip looking for a small light to keep handy. Thanks for another awesome episode and product review!!! 👍👍👍
Thanks for this video. I've been looking into getting small lights that give me versatility for my lighting setups. I'll will definitely consider these. Always great content from you. Peace ✌
Yeah, you sold me. I got two of the updated version of the small cube ones and a 7" panel one. Look forward to getting these home so I can start experimenting!
Great video mate. This looks like it'd be extremely useful for doco work when you're working with the confines of small spaces and may not have outlets on hand.
I got the small ones and I love em because they take the place of getting more Aperture MC Pro’s that cost $100 each. I got 4 for $97. I’m gonna get two of the long ones, they have even longer ones that are cheaper but I’ll hold off
I have a couple of the VL49's, that you like the least, and have found them quite handy for fill light, whether in RGB or CCT. I put them on a light weight light stand, or have also just held them, and the battery life on them has amazed me. While I find myself looking at the light to watch it shut off because of using up the battery, the light never did, never got dim, and was still ready to go at the end of day long shoots (they were not on continuously the whole day). I couldn't believe it. Of course it would not do for a key light, except for in extreme close-ups in certain situations. However, I have found this light very handy to fill in some missing light on the talent. Of course I am talking in narrative film though. I only paid $19 for each of them on ebay, new.
Thanks for sharing these! I'm not that good at lighting yet so before investing in more expensive lights, I've been looking for some decent ones to practice with.
I already own the square Ulanzi lights, and they work in a pinch for run & gun stuff or just as accent lighting. I didn't see the tube lights, but I already own the Nanlite PavoTube 6C which has a huge battery & app control. But yeah, these are cool options.
ULANZI make some budget lights and i got 3 of them but it gets heated after half an hour use. Other than that its cool and for someone who just started doing some photo/video project.
The motel shot in the thumbnail caught my attention right away. I had one of those closet tube lights with a plastic mount w/ the small magnet in the middle but the plastic cracked making the mount useless. I'm glad the magnets are built into the actual lights on these. Thanks for bringing them to our attention👌🏾 @gtrevelldickson "Anything" just in cause you meant that literally 😅
i want to win the light. im in the US. i love your content! i learned all my video knowledge from you and a few other youtubers! thank you so much! KEEP TEACHING US!
This is the first time I've seen someone turn on the effects on the small cube one, mine was second hand, so the backscreen doesn't work and it came with no manual, how do I turn the effects on?
After using quasar tube lights for the past few years I’ve def abandoned them recently because they’re just a hassle to haul around and hard to use in small spaces. These look more convenient imo. Thanks for the video!
