I have what Conn called a "French horn alto" made in 1924 that is like this. During the same time period, Conn also made a similar model they actually called a mellophone. I got this instrument very inexpensively but it lacked a mouthpiece, so I've been using a FH mouthpiece which, as the video indicates, doesn't fit tightly. I bought an adapter, but I found this makes the FH mouthpiece fit my Conn 14-C alto horn. However, I just won a mellophonium from eBay having its original mouthpiece, so I'm hoping this mouthpiece will also fit the FH alto so I don't need to buy another adapter.
Wow this is a really cool configuration of a mellophone!
yea
I love the thumbnail mr levine

They make special French Horn Mouthpiece adapters that you can use on Mellophone.
This really pays tribute to Don Elliot

Tuning slide is upside down.
Is there a way still to play with left hand?
They would have to make a special Lefty Version
It's a Marching Descant Horn
