Thanks for watching Greg. Not to give too much away, but there will be a few final touches added not shown here. I'm looking forward to how this might turn out too. Fingers crossed.
Hi buddy, your panther looks awesome with all the add-on parts. plus, the other details you have added are simply amazing. I've subscribed to your channel with the recommendation from cw modelling . cheers Gary 🇬🇧
Hi Gary, That's amazing. Great response come from someone who is used to watching ''The Master'' Oh well done Ian(CW). Yeah he said was going to give me a shout out. A really great guy, lots of time for anyone who wants to talk to him. I'll thank him later. Welcome aboard 👍
Great work! This looked a complex build...lots of parts to begin with, and then extra! I admire your dedication 🤓 The final result looks fabulous. Love all the weld beads, stowage, the figures, the tarps. Yes, great work. I've subscribed 👍
Greetings my friend, that was a excellent build and the stowage looks great, I am looking forward to the painting and weathering episode, best regards from Australia 👌👍👌👍
Thank you Les down under. A lot to do for this next episode, just about getting my head around it all. hopefully 2 weeks max to get it done. Thanks for watching and commenting.
blanket at the back blocked the engine air in flow consequence overhite engine . in belgium are two panther G that 80 year standing uotside and less bad panzer plates rust wells has than the plastic model . the pull cables are mounteg incorrectly , you can't possibly folding into a corner, this is a steel cable fr 20 to 30 cm for the rest it is a very nice model❤🧡💛👍👍👍👍
Thank you Michael, that comment has made my day. Someone coming away from watching my video and thinking 'I want to try that out'. PS the tool is made from a cut soda can, shaped with the help of a small drill bit and superglued to a toothpick.
Wonderful craftsmanship on this build. However, I do have one nit to pick. You have made this Panther a late one with the exhaust shrouds and the foliage loops on the turret. You also added the additional turret top and intake armor. To my knowledge only one unit in Italy used these additional armor plates and they had only early G's, none of the late G's were sent to Italy due to more pressing problems closer to home. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but I've never seen this combination in any photo.
Agreed, the crew heater however, though some associate it only with lates, was present on some of the Italian Panthers. There were also though some A's with the additional armor plates as well.
Thanks for watching John and taking the time to comment. The tank built was the option of one from the 26th in Italy. It was the only option that had the added armor and did include the exhaust shrouds. I'm not saying Meng are right just that i followed their instructions. I did however do a little research myself and found that late G's with added armor were used in the defence of Berlin and it turns out Dragon do such a kit. Dragon | No. 6897. The Dragon kit has the added loops as well although it does also have the later gun mantlet. It is known however, that late G's were being produced with whatever mantlet was available at the factory at the time. With all that being said I felt that i wasnt going to be too far off the mark if i depicted this vehicle as a late G defending the homeland. I'm not a heavy researcher but i try to do enough to depict a vehicle type from a era within ww2. Thanks again and please watch the painting episode when i get it done. Im sure you will fall of your seat when you see the camo patten and colours used. 😉 I'm joking 🤣❤
I’m for the rough armor texturing but I left the Tamiya for the Mr Surfacer 500 with some stippling. It seems more convincing but this is matter of opinion
Excellent and an enjoyable watch. Amazing attention to detail. Question if I may. I've built a few models recently with photo etch parts and have difficulty finding an adhesive that works. I have ended up using superglue which leaves a white residue on the etched parts. I may have missed it it in your vid, but what do you use please. Thanks for an entertaining video.
VMS do a black CA glue that works well. Also Gorilla glue CA gel is good to have To not get residue you need to use CA remover also from VMS use the remover while the glue is still wet around the edges and it will take it straight off without the part falling off,
Thanks for watching Thomas. General supplies i use a few online B&M shops like scalemodelshop uk. For tools i will look around for best price using Ebay or sometimes Aliexpress. Dspiae make great quality tools but are very expensive in UK. Aliexpress you can get for much less.
@@afv-studio I know it is very expensive over here in Ireland also very few shops that do sale kits or equipment either without it costing a arm and leg.
Thank you for the good build, but I have a few observations. First, I do not see the fascination with putting tarps on a vehicle, other than one traveling in a peaceful area, because no german tanker is going to have tarps on the vehicle in the heat of battle where it could catch fire and possibly destroy the vehicle. Second, it appears that you modeled one of the last variants of the vehicle with the anti aircraft armor and the flame damping exhaust and yet you used a chinnless mantlet, not impossible but not likely. Thirdly, why would the crew place the "pie" wedges in the configuration you have them in on the heater "tower," not sending the hot air into the vents to the crew compartment, but allowing it to escape at that point, just a few observations.
I see you're observations and the points you state, they are all correct and valid, but you are rivet counting..and yes that is fun but can be very dull if you are not going for period correct. The idea of doing everything he did is geeat, great, displays many different effects and talents, this also gives others inspiration to do something like that,so both are valid. I myself do like the visual appeal that it brings, and if you.are not being judged for period correct have fun. Great job man. Looks awesome
Great work mate! Very nice looking results. Meng kits are pretty hard to beat, well apart from RFM…😂 Love your build video and keen to see more of your videos! Cheers from Australia ❤😊
😂 They were either poorly trained and undisciplined or...wait for it. They were caught out by an approaching column of T34's while stowing away the supplies. I have seen far worse than a half covered vent on an imaginary tank
Its not necessary to redo welds on this kits. The welds are pretty good out the box. only a little touch up is necessary as seen at 5:17 where you can see a line from the moulding. this could be covered with a little filler.
@@afv-studio Okay, thank you very much for your help and quick response, I really liked your work) P.S. translated with the help of a translator, so there may be errors😅

The wire threaded through the turret loops is 0.15mm

Ok so the diorama may be set in cold weather (?), but I'm troubled why the crew would cover a radiator vent at any time with a tarpaulin?
