It's cool, next step would be adding small details, a broken bottle of spirits, a tin mug or three, straps, clothing, boots, canisters.. you know. Love your work.
I'd love to see you build another tank with a full interior. Perhaps one of the newer RFM kits. Your techniques for the interior of this build is a great reference that I keep coming back to for refreshing ideas for my next interior build. I'd love to see what you do with a WWII tank with an engine compartment, fighting compartment, etc.
You don't need to worry about tanks rusting on the interior. They really do! All that metal without any insulation means that all the moisture in the crew's breath, and any in the air, condenses on the inside walls. I've read plenty of accounts from WW2 tankers of how damp their tanks were inside.
Makes me remember the 1:35 Academy M113 I built as a kid. You didn't need to glue on the roof, so you could always look at the interior. As a 'cheapskate' I used the little bit of beige and white I had left over, diluted the hell out of them, and it turned out to be one of the best brush paintjobs I ever did. Only a fraction of it was visible through the aft hatch, unless you removed the roof. What an awesome model that was!
Watching Uncle Nightshift feels like I’m watching Bob Ross. You copy everything he does and say’s but in the end, it just doesn’t look the same when your done. 😭
I just made a reply about how he makes it look so easy just like Bob Ross before I read your comment. He is like Bob.. you watch 3-4 of his video's and you feel like you're ready to do a painting.. or paint a tank.
The thing with steel furniture is that as long as it is in use, it does not rust (oil from human hands acts as some kind of protection). Instead it’s polished to a mirror shine with cloth and skin acting as abrasives. So, in an actual tank those steel chairs would have quite an interesting transition from worn down and flaking paint at the back to a polished knife edge at the front with two distinct grooves from the legs. Same with the floor. Most soldiers used boots with nailed soles. So, that metal on metal contact polished floor panels heavily. Indeed in few years of active use the texture on those steel floors will be almost flat in places clearly showing the most used routes. If they will be lucky enough to survive that long.
This is just in time! I've just started a Mini Art PzIV with full interior. I hope mine will be decent... yours is Fantastic! And yes, you should leave the top of your A7V loose. 😏
I think that's what the vertical staining on the walls is intended to represent. Smoke would collect on all surfaces (and the crew) but humidity changes and rain would make those streaks.
Those airbrushed shadows look incredible! I also love the mottling and staining on the floor! I have a 1/35 M8 Greyhound with a painted, but unweathered, interior. I think that I will try a few of these techniques, thanks!
This makes me want to make a Mephisto tank diorama after re watching this series, i am going to steal all your techniques to make it happen, I am thinking Mephisto on the night it was recovered by the Australians
I actually got to see the last A7V in person a few months ago, the interior is actually a dark black/reddish-brown The tank in question (Mephisto, at the QLD museum) actually had some of the original chalk text in the interior that was used for communication between the crew
Good morning. Nice to meet you, I saw your wonderful video and signed up for the channel because it's good content. I'm honored to see your good work. Thank you bro .
Hey Uncle Night Shift, I’m really liking the WWI tank series, wish I saw it before I finished my Mk V tank diorama by Emhar a few months ago, although to be fair I’m pretty sure the molds were cast back in 1918 so there was only so much I could do to save it 😅 Also I was going through old videos and was wondering if there’s any news on that Syrian T55 diorama you mentioned a few months ago? A modern diorama sounds pretty interesting
I love your videos and models, that looks awesome! They make me look forward to Fridays even more :) I recently also painted my first interior (panzer iv turret, really not on your level), and I know how sad it feels to enclose all your hard work. Support and love from Sweden :)
Love what you are doing here, been watching for some time and just love how satisfying it is just watching you perform your magic, makes me want to do this myself sometime. Also, I do have a suggestion for a possible future build. It would be cool if you build another tank with interior and have some shell impacts and maybe some spots where a fire has started inside due to the shells.
It's cool, next step would be adding small details, a broken bottle of spirits, a tin mug or three, straps, clothing, boots, canisters.. you know. Love your work.
So true
Someone didn’t watch to the end of the video
empty sauerkraut can,…
... a helmet, a pack of low-carb cookies...
@@NightShiftScaleModels what is the mixing ratio of the interior paint?
I will probably leave the roof part not glued,so it can be lifted
to show interior of the tank.
I like how you painted and weather the interior,gj.
I agree
it's such a shame he won't be able to see inside considering the amount of time he used
It's gonna live on thanks to this video :D
I'd love it if you kept the roof NOT glued in place once the model is finished, to be able to displace it to watch what's inside !
Yeah put like a small hinge on the inside so it flips open like a lid :)
YES! It would be a huge fail to glue the roof!
The interior will be pretty visible through the open door once it's placed in a diorama :)
When the fridge fights back !!!! Another amazing piece of artwork in the making Martin !!
This is why Fridays are the best
Excellent work! Watching you posts has become mandatory in my book
really nice to have this since i just made popcorn
I love the "based on a true story" in the title card
A cutaway museum scene would be wonderful for an interior like that. Mannequins inside people outside.
Martin, I've been watching your videos for a couple of years now, you are one of those modelling Jedis.
The tell of a true craftsman--most concern about the outside, but you mind the details no one will ever see. Nice, Uncle!
Now your just showing off. Well done another top quality finish
I'd love to see you build another tank with a full interior. Perhaps one of the newer RFM kits. If i need pro advice on making tank models - this is the right place! I love ww2 panzers, as i started my modelling adventure with Tiger.
Great 3D Still Life... Looking forward to the Landscape and Figure painting.
Outstanding, Uncle Night Shift!!
Nice work!
I’ve been looking forward for this vid for a whole week!
That's some beautiful work.
Would you ever wanna do Trumpeter # TSM00217 and a bigger diorama with it next to some military stuff

Hell yes, just came back from the store with a fresh miniart tiran with interior which is also my first interior kit and thus couldn't be more helpful
Fantastic As Usual…!!!
Keep Your Videos Coming…!!
I love how you cut tanks in half, create huge cool looking dioramas and I cant even get the courage or the will to paint a 1/72 zvezda T-34
Watching Uncle Nightshift feels like I’m watching Bob Ross. You copy everything he does and say’s but in the end, it just doesn’t look the same when your done. 😭
I appreciate watching without bothering the artist.
Everyone has their own unique style! :)
I just made a reply about how he makes it look so easy just like Bob Ross before I read your comment. He is like Bob.. you watch 3-4 of his video's and you feel like you're ready to do a painting.. or paint a tank.
Thanks Martin for this video, now I am more clear to paint my Pz II Bison interior

Excellent video again Night Shift, watching your videos have really helped me in my modelling, love the WW1 tanks. Keep up the great work!
Great job on the interior. Something to remember is the inside would be stained with gun smoke from the cannons and machine guns
I think that's what the vertical staining on the walls is intended to represent. Smoke would collect on all surfaces (and the crew) but humidity changes and rain would make those streaks.
Yes new night shift content, last few days were so boring I have watched most of your old content so this is refreshing and great job on it
Superb work as ever!!
Those airbrushed shadows look incredible! I also love the mottling and staining on the floor! I have a 1/35 M8 Greyhound with a painted, but unweathered, interior. I think that I will try a few of these techniques, thanks!
M8 is a perfect model for some interior work!
Master of AirBrush and Colors. That looks absolutely realistic!
I've been wanting to see you do this for so long!
This makes me want to make a Mephisto tank diorama after re watching this series, i am going to steal all your techniques to make it happen, I am thinking Mephisto on the night it was recovered by the Australians
Now I want one Unc! TFS, GB :)

I've built a few Emhar kits as well, good memories! :D
