A new year, a new car review! This week we're driving the oh so smooth Citreon C5 Aircross Hybrid, a car that was once an executive saloon but is now a family SUV. And, as the name suggest, it's electrified.
But this particular model is no ordinary hybrid, it's a PHEV. That means you can plug it in to a charger and drive for up to 34 miles on electric energy alone. Or you could use the battery power to take some of the strain off the engine, improving fuel efficiency.
At just under £34,500 it's a fair bit more expensive than the regular C5 Aircross. So what we want to find out is whether it's worth the premium and, crucially, if it still drives like a Citroen.

Superb review of a real modern age Citroën. As a driver of Citroën cars for more than 35 years I can tell you the C5 is the real comeback of the brand. Innovative, quirky, comfortable, elegant and above all French. I own one and it is imho a gem of a car. The PHC suspension system is a real automotive gamechanger in terms of comfort. Vive La France Vive La Citroën.

I have been driving the petrol version 180hp automatic for 14 months. I am still happy with my car, it drives super comfortable. The suspension is so good

600 liter boot! There's no way rival cars can match that. Add the 3 individual reclining back seats and this car beats all its rival SUVs for practicality, exactly why I chose it as a family car.

Couldn't believe it. Went on your Web and saw KP70VTE. Belive it or not I bought it from Citroen Lincon on the 16th Dec 2022 . Lovely car so smooth.

So great to have some variety in the market. Life would be dull if everyone drove the same cars! Cool review thanks :)

Hey everyone, Cam here! Hope you all had a wonderful New Year. Just a small correction regarding the rear seats. I failed to mention that you can recline them. Still, the seats are bolt upright in the default position. What do you think of the Citroen C5 Aircross Hybrid? A fun family car or just another dull crossover? Lemme know!

Thanks for a nice positive review. I ordered my C5 Shine Plus a couple of days ago and can't wait to get it in February 2022.

They need a hybrid in the £20 - 25k range, still be out of reach for most buyers.
    Great review.

Very nice review. But the volume of the music is too high, or volume of speech too low 🙂

So you missed the most important thing... how many MPG did you get?

Why aren't right-have-drive cars offered with LED headlights, even as an option like the left-hand-drive cars are? Here, we have to make do with old-fashioned halogen units like on an old Rover Metro - welcome to the 1990's!
Why right-hand-drive cars STILL don't get LED headlights I'll never know, especially as they are offered on the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 in both left and right-hand-drive markets! If Peugeot are able to offer LED headlights in both LHD and RHD, then I don't see why Citroën can't do the same with the C5 Aircross...
