    Very informative review, together with your electric range review. More helpful than many other reviews! Well done and thank you Helmut.

    Great test, Helmut! (I'm picking up tons of tips). I do like the look of the Citroen - very elegant car.

    In countries like Austria with good EV infrastructure I'd rather go electric, but for such places like Poland this would be an excellent option. I was wondering, have you considered comparing the consumption between HEV and PHEV versions of the same car, e.g. Rav4 or Kuga?

    • @ecodriver1746
      @ecodriver1746  2 года назад +3

      Hi Pawel, yes I did with the KUGA (FHEV and PHEV), RAV 4 PHEV will come in ca. 3 weeks, FHEV was done a year ago.

    If I ever have somebody in front of me who doesn't know the road I usually leave a bigger gap and try and average out their speed so you just catch them up when they're speeding back up. (Basically maintain speed while they're yo-yoing closer and further and you never have to brake or loose momentum for them).

      So do I, but sometimes people are driving so slow and do things I would never think of that even keeping larger distance isn't enough... ;)

    Good morning sir, Thank you very much, it was exactly the information I was looking for ! And especially for the Citroën C5X hybrid. And I can see on the video beautiful Austria. (I am French). Just a question : how many kilometers did you drive (I saw on the schema 70 but I am not sure). Have a nice day

    Really great and good job. The Kuga PHEV is still the best (I've got one) but I really like this big Citroen.

    Hi Helmut. One ideia for a test: how about recharching the PHEV with the combustion engine, while descending? What impact would that have for the remainder of the route? Thanks for your video test!

    • @ecodriver1746
      @ecodriver1746  2 года назад +2

      Hi Nuno, the problem with doing that is when you recharge in addition to braking and so charging the battery that might be to much for the charging capability of the battery. Plus, the petrol engine would run with a very low load, which is not efficient. Toyota and Ford with their hybrids charge the battery only when the engine is running anyway to drive the car and so the load is increased and therefore most efficient.

      @@ecodriver1746 I see your point in a HEV. Not so sure if we are talking about a PHEV, which has a much larger battery. I watched your video of the Kuga PHEV and the recharging of the battery, while ascending, did have an effect on the "hills route". I'll keep watching and testing your teachings in my C5 Aircross Hybrid.

    • @ecodriver1746
      @ecodriver1746  2 года назад +1

      Yes, but you asked about descending.
      The point is not the capacity of the battery but what how quickly it can be charged. Most PHEVs can only charge with low capacity (hence the "only" around 70-80 kW-motor).
      Personally I prefer having the engine off as much as possible and only charge when it needs to run anyway, e.g. on the motorway.

    13:25 so let me just correct myself, you did first 50 km electric until empty and the 5.2 L per 100 with that empty battery?

    • @ecodriver1746
      @ecodriver1746  2 года назад +2

      I did a test to find out how long I can get with a full battery in EV-mode, see here ruclips.net/video/-aM1x73U6QY/видео.html
      And then I did this test with an empty battery to find out about the efficiency of the drivetrain.

    What is the petrol only range?

    • @mozki1
      @mozki1 2 месяца назад

      Yes, I was hoping for a petrol only or petrol + regen range.
      Nowhere does it publish the max range of this car, only the max electric range. Is it because of its smaller fuel tank. 40 litres, I think.
