- Spec-ops Israel and Martial Artist Noah return to Experts React to review Battlefield 1 Prologue mission. They'll talk about World War I, Israel's experience with tanks, and everything in between. Similar to its predecessors, Battlefield 1 is a first-person shooter game that emphasizes teamwork. It is set in the period of World War I and is inspired by historical events. Players can make use of World War I weapons, including bolt-action rifles, submachine guns, automatic and semi-automatic rifles, artillery, flamethrowers, and poison gas to combat opponents.

I had such a blast shooting these episodes with Noah! I hope to all enjoy this one and the rest that are coming up.
Appreciate the continued effort you're putting out for us, Boss! Thanks plenty.
You guys were extremely fun to watch and we’d love to see more
You seem to be a super down to earth guy, glad that they have you on the show
You guys need to get Marcus luttrell on a episode of total recoil
we do a little trolling
This is an endgame level crossover.
Fr fr
Not yet pal, not yet
eh
The marines and the spec ops guys would be sick
Endgame level? more like a Stalin Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Rosevelt kind of crossover, Come on Communism and capitalism joining forces! the most insane crossover event
I think what really struck my heart in this mission was the simple message of "You are not expected to survive." Like holy shit man. It was that crazy and intense of a war.
And even if you physically make it through, imagine how your mental sanity can survive that.
Not even mentioning weeks of non stop shelling and lack of sleep, food and good shelter, and of course gaz, and constant fear and death smell.
@@docthorr even worse freezing to death in a trench for weeks in which you don’t actually see battle
I remember a writing talking about his experience in the war described his friend dying and him being trapped in a shell hole for days on end, all while his dead friend slowly decayed near him and him half wishing for the bravery to stick his head up and just get it over with.

War was completely justified in ww2
The collab we didn’t know we need, but Gameology delivers.
I NEEDED IT!
We've always known we needed this just needed to know when.
Tbf a lot of people requested this
We need more.
True dat
Noah is literally asking all the childish questions we’re all wondering 😂
We need more of Q & A
*Laughs in WWI historian*
The Christmas miracle thing happened, they had a brief truce to drink and acknowledge each other as people because they didn’t wanna fight on Christmas.
It was mostly happened in 1914, which happened in a quite large scale ranging from exchanging bodies, joint burial, carols signing to football match. It happened too during 1915 but in a very small scale which usually just collecting bodies and burying the dead from both side. This is due to a strong worded order and in some case, threatened to execute soldier who carry out the truce with the enemy. And it disappear in 1916 as fighting heated up.
Look up Christmas Truce on Wikipedia.
I do believe they played football/soccer too
@@cosplayshop the saddest part was finding out the soldiers or atleast the German ones that didn't want to fight their new friends after Christmas 1914 were shuffled off to the eastern front where they got killed or froze to death

Gemma, Natalie Duran, and Cameron, the sheer energy would be insane.
That would be very very funny they have very similar energies, that would be a great chemistry between those two
i think theres a reason they didnt do that
Noah legit sounds like a little kid talking to a police officer: "Did you do this?" "Did you do that?" etc.
Lmao
Yeah but it's awesome. Cameron would never ask these questions bc he knows that lifestyle, Noah doesn't so he asks all the mundane questions that any civilian might want to ask. I think it's cool and I hope they continue doing more crossovers for the same reason.
That's exactly what i thought 😅
Well he's an actor who acts like a dude who kicks ass, sitting next to a guy that kicks ass off screen, with real stakes and such.
I'd be all questions too
@@sincereflowers3218 But Noah is an actual Martial Artist, so he can kick ass. But yes they come from different backgrounds of "fighting" so it's natural he'd have questions when he's never been in a military setting.
That end scene from the first mission hits me so hard. The way it focuses on the people behind the guns, how they're still human.
Noah being an Isaiah fanboy is the best thing ever.

As a tank commander I can say that driving around in a tank is an amazing combination of feeling unstoppable and incredibly vulnerable. You can mow down trees and just blast away stuff but at the same time everyone can see and hear you moving making you a massive target.
The worst thing is the fumes from the engine tank crews had to be hospitalized due to exposure from CO
I imagine Gemma and Cameron sitting off on the side thinking how to take revenge on their partners

Ah, Yes. Battlefield 1....a game where most Players on "Operations" Mode are suicidal stormtroopers who charge at the enemy trenches with bayonets, myself included.... God I love this game.
So they die a lot and only end up hitting the people who don’t matter?
And don't forget the added realism of playing a scout with a single shot infantry rifle.
Best Battlefield ever
Yeah the battles in this game are so goddam epic
It's sad no one plays back to basics :(
Loading BF1 and being met with this for the first time was the most immersive and memorable experience ive ever had with a game
This is the equivalent to “astronauts react to red dead redemption prologue”
This was a video? I’ve never heard of Gameology doing that.
This video is literally about dudes in modern military trying to talk about ww1 like bruh what do they know those times were different way brutal and dark
@@goajare I think the ideal here would be to add a historian. The spec ops guy can still give a ton of info about the weapons, even ones like chemical weapons are things he'd have to be trained to deal with, even if he's never actually faced anything worse than tear gas. The Martial Artist could talk a bit more about the melee combat that's depicted, and a historian could talk about the actual tactics and history of the war that neither of these experts would know a ton about.
@@auroraourania7161 yea that’s true
I don't think anyone is even alive from that time period, so this is kinda the best we can do. Even a historian would be a similar experience, likely knowing a great amount about the events and what not but lacking military insight. That and explaining the historical events takes a lot more time then just going over the military and insanity of war aspect.
Actually, the microwave was invented by an American engineer in 1945 when he accidently left a choclate bar in his pocket while he went to work on an active radar set. He then discovered that the microwaves coming off of the set melted the choclate bar. I suppose he was glad it was cholcate that melted in his pants and not something else. lol.
Chocolate melting in general can be a very terrifying expierience. Chocolate(even when still wrapped) melting in your pants is just the biggest mess

I know the version where it was with an egg he forgot in his pocket for lunch and boiled inside (in the '40s it was common practice to have basic food for lunch like raw eggs to boil, milk, jerky etc). December 25th 1914, the Germans and British lines stopped fighting for the entire day giving gifts to each other, talking with each other, and treating each other like they were human beings. The Christmas truce is true but it only happened in the Christmas of 1914 and only 1914
Higher ups refused to let it happen again, because all of those men had to be restationed by both sides as they refused to fight each other again.

To answer Mr. Wright’s question on the Christmas Truce of 1914:
Germans and English troopers were singing carols on their side of the trenches on Christmas Eve. Both heard each other, and they sang along tougher, wishing each other a merry Christmas. Next morning German troopers came out to no man’s land unarmed, soon the English followed. They exchanged stories, gifts, buried their dead, sang carols, and even played a game of football (soccer). It was really touching, and sad that after Christmas they would become enemies once again.

They are like Ryu and Guile invited to have a reaction video, and i love it
Finally they put my two favorite groups and mixed them together. Now we need Gemma and Cameron together they would be hilarious.
Dang, 2 different perspectives are so refreshing, I really liked it!
Actually, since trench raids and assaults were at such extreme close quarters in tight spaces, they often resulted in a hand-to-hand combat. This caused demand for an all-round fighting system that worked in life and death situations. Different countries had different philosophies and essentially had to create their own martial art styles. Experimenting and borrowing from local, popular, and what they thought were, effective disciplines. They revolutionised the concept of mixed martial arts, and set the foundations for pretty much all hand-to-hand/self defence fighting systems that are meant for fighting for your life.
I was Gona say we NEED CAMERON N GEMMA
Noah is like a little kid listening to his dad telling him stories.

THE CROSSOVER I WAS WAITING FOR!!!!!!!!!
I loved this one! The conversation between the two was a great spin on the usual commentary. Don't get me wrong, I like the other format as well, but having less overlap in knowledge base creates interesting dialogue.

Gotta have Cameron and Israel react to the new "Ground Branch" game, super tactical CQC made by a former siege dev
I loved watching these guys together talking very interesting
This is very different, and I Iike it! Noah doesn’t have as much knowledge as Israel on the topic, but knows enough that he can ask interesting questions and make his own insights. Its a very nice change of pace to not just have purely an expert but an expert and a second!
Nice seeing martial artists and spec ops soldier doing a video together
Also I kinda wish Cameron and Gemma were there as well
Its wierd though because these guys would have no clue what trench warfare or early 1900's warfare was like
Yeah, this was entertaining, but definitely not their area of expertise. Maybe they’ll make another one on BF1 with historians instead, like how they had HEMA experts react to The Witcher 3 after the initial video with fencers.
Well to put it briefly, trench warfare was absolutely awful, particularly during WW1, trench warfare is sadly still used today with the most recent time it was utilised in combat being during the Iraq-Iran war in the 1980’s (till 1988) where trench warfare and going over the top was used extensively, however back to WW1. Early 1900’s Warfare within trenches was extremely awful, not only were you at threat of severe shell shock due to the sheer amount of Shelling from artillery on both opposing armies, you could die from disease as well, as we know, on the western front, British troops having sometimes moved into trenches once used by the French army, would often find it riddled with rats that could spread disease, this was because the French army (and even the Army of the British Empire) would bury their dead behind the walls etc. Furthermore, what made trench warfare during this time especially more devastating than these two reasons was the idea of “going over the top” once that whistle blew from a CO or even an NCO, soldiers (even on the side of the Imperial German Army) would simultaneously run over the top only to be mowed down by heavy machine guns such as the Vickers machine gun and so on. Overall I thought I’d explain Trench Warfare in a nutshell, there’s plenty more details I could go into but I just wanted to keep it short. I’m just relaying the basic information I’ve gathered over the years of both studying WW2 and WW1.
I love this teamup, but I hope if they do it again that next time they get a game that hits both of their areas of expertise. Something with both military content and lots of mocap or close quarters combat, so that they both have something to talk about. This was great, but it was mostly Noah asking Israel questions.
My 2021 just got better with this collab 🔥🔥🔥🔥
