I’m 32, I’ve been wearing glasses since 12; your videos have made the transition to contacts (and eye care in general) very comforting and interesting. Thank you Dr.! :)
Blink is the only one I have tried, but I love t so much I have never needed to try another. One drop in the morning is usually enough to keep my eyes feeling great throughout the day. I would highly recommend it!
Great video! Blink is the king, always worked very well for me and I only ever have to use 2 drops per eye halfway through the day (after 8 hours) and it ensures comfort for another 8!
Agreed! I feel it is a little thicker and maybe a bit more sticky than other drops but works super well.

@@DoctorEyeHealth haha because I used to put more than one drop with other brands, I did that with Blink too, and it actually made my contacts slip out of my eyes, haha.

All manufacturers should be including on the box or bottle whether they are safe to use with contacts in or out. It is too hard to figure it out when you are looking for new drops.
True True. I big issue is how the FDA regulates the marketing. I know of one brand that Bottles its original formula and then bottles a "contacts" version but they are literally the same solution. Just boxed differently because the FDA says so.
You're a godsend. I too decided to try contacts in my 30s, masks and glasses fog during the pandemic made me take the plunge haha. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks but not impossible. Edit: Yes, Blink is my favorite so far of rewetting drops and my doc recommends them also
I usually work 12-hour shifts for months at a time inside a clean room where the air is dry as hell, so by the time my shift is over, my eyes are very red... As they feel as bad as they look. I have this problem with blink and I wear dailies. I am excited to try a different one now. And I did not know we can use regular drops if they're preservative free so that really opens up the options.
I had that problem with re-wetting drops in the past especially with the optifree brand. I saw the one you did on Uveitis and it helped me understand a lot more about it, very useful since one of the AI diseases I have is Psoriatic Arthritis w/ Spondylitis, thankfully I have not had to experience that yet
I think it’s just the type of contacts you’re wearing. When I used to wear acuvue oasys my eyes would be dry all the time and I’d have to get rewetting drops to help out. When I switched over to the acuvue vita that all stopped. I haven’t used rewetting drops since I switched. That’s just my experience though.
I honestly dont need drops all the time but when on the computer all day they can help for sure. I agree that sometimes you just gotta switch to a different brand of lenses.
@@DoctorEyeHealth I use the precision 1 daily disposable contact lenses and they make my eyes red. Is this normal? What's the next brand you recommend I switch to? Thank you.
Hey Dr.A....can you also talk about dry eyes and soft contact lens fitting. I have personally found soft lenses tend to shrink and tighten on my dry eyes. Some lenses are better or worse for this. Dry eyes and soft lens parameter changes?
Thanks man, I keep trying to contacts my dr hasn't explained anything. Just gives me a random trial. Gave me one and worked fine when I got used to them but they started getting dry, assumed it was the lenses and he gave me a new trial pair, alot thinner, and it felt like I had eyelashes in my eyes. Threw them right out, so I bought clear care and am going to see how it works tomorrow
Thank you for the tips. I've worn contacts since I was 15. I was diagnosed with dry eye syndrome. Had completely given up on wearing contacts again because I couldn't find a brand I could wear comfortably and when I did , I couldn't get them out of my eye because they were glued to my eyeball! Found a contact that I can wear and bought all the drops you recommended an FINALLY found a rewetting drop that works (the blink). Thank you! You have a great channel and I hope you continue. You have great advice! Thanks from a Canadian subscriber 🇨🇦
Doctor Eye Health I’m wearing the dailies aqua comfort. I find the drops make a big difference. I tried the blink with my former contacts (air optix) and they didn’t bother me as much.
Hey are you still using the blink eye drops to help your eyes? I’m dealing with dry eye symptoms even without contacts in so I’m unsure if they will also help me
Will consider to wear contacts though many have told me that might hurt my eyes and it's complicated to use.Been wearing glasses for past 5 yrs. and it does really irritating when it's fog.
Thank you for the information! I’ve only been using contacts for less than 72 hours but this helps so much. I’m 36 and I’ve been prescribed glasses since 14 (dx’d farsighted), bifocals since 22 (dx’d nearsighted and astigmatism which has advanced with age) and finally decided to try contacts at 36. Now I’m wondering one thing; Why did I wait so long? Again thank you. 😊😊😊
Refresh repair has been good since recently starting to wear contacts (myopia) However I think I may give the blink a try soon 🤔 Edit: Blink contacts formula is definitely really good on the eyes.. ! Great recommendation
I use to use drop for lenses called "Clearz with a z. Those worked well, especially for clearing up the eyes. They stopped making them, but I was able to find something similar...but not wearing contacts for 2 years I forget those now!
Daily lenses are a life saver for me! Tried all kinds of monthly ones and they get so uncomfortable after about a week no matter how well i clean them!
I’m on my trial pair of Acon Total 30 monthly lenses and they are super DRYYYY ! the opti free pure moist re wetting drops or the bio tru hydration boost drops has helped me tons and are preservative free ✨😗
So it's not my in my head then.. Same issue with these contacts. My eyes were so dry from using them, I ended up popping a blood vessel when trying to remove them for the first time 😞
@@RevolverCallOfDuty Unfortunately, yes. As of now, the opti free rewetting drops are working. However, my optometristbdid say that if my eyes are not doing well with monthly contacts, I will have to switch to dailies.
Thank you for your videos. They are extremely informative and helpful. On to my eye drop question... I’ve accidentally been buying the blue box of the blink tears eye drops which are the non contact version. Will it harm my contacts if I use their original lubricating drops?

For the Blink Contacts drops, do I applied it in my eyes before putting on my contacts? Or with them on? Or can I use these drops whenever I’m not using contacts?
i am thinking about purchasing BLINK, as I have a 1 month soft lens and do i have to remove my contacts then put the drops on my contacts or can i put the drop straight into my eyes with the contacts on (like normal eye drops)?
the best for me is from brand bepanthen that comes in 16 unidoses that you can bring in a poket to office or anywhere. my first contact lenses Bausch&Lomb HD Purevision. It had a good vision far and near but dryed my eyes after 1h. So a had to add drops to moisture my eyes. After a month I ask for a new lenses to test. Then I discover biofinity multifocal and I stick to it until today. With this lenses I don't need drops to moisture my eyes anymore.
@@DoctorEyeHealth I was wondering if you'll be making a video on multifocal lenses? My prescription is -6.25/low + 1.25. Once I started using these my vision became accustom to the low plus +1.25 very quickly. We tried +1.50 and same thing happened. My eyes adapted and I was no longer seeing clearly with the low +1.50. Hope this makes some type of sense.
Hi Dr. EH, I am using Air Optix Toric lenses. They are good but tend to get dry where I they seem hazy at times especially as the day goes on. Would the the Alcon be the best or the Blink?
Hey thanks for asking! I have found the OptiFree drops hard to find and over time, I personally found the Blink for Contacts drops to work the best for my own eyes while wearing contact lenses. However, as always, it is best for you to ask your local eye doctor what they think will be best for you.
Hi Doc. Did u tried already Opti-free Replenish solution & rewetting drops? I mean which is better solution/rewetting drops between OPTI-FREE PUREMOIST & OPTI-FREE REPLENISH? They’re both made by Alcon anyway. Thanks!😊
I find that using the blink eye drops makes my eyes feel even more dry. I just bought the clear care plus hydraglyde though so I’m hoping that helps my dry eyes. Considering putting the drops into my contacts before putting them in. It’s just crazy to me because when i first wore contacts they never bothered me and coming back to them years later i can barely keep them in my eyes for an hour 🤦🏻♀️
I'm using daily bausch and lomb soflens and I have delayed subjective dryness. They're comfortable when I first get them in as if they are barely there. By the two hour mark, they feel like they're sucking all the moisture in my eye and drying up. Using rewetting eye drops only alleviates the sensation for a few minutes. By the end of the day, I can't wait to get them off. Is this just the brand of the lens I'm using? Or is it something else?
The bausch and lomb dailies are much less comfy than the ultra monthlies. I can wear the monthlies for about 8 hours before I can tell they are there. They need rewetting around the 12 hour mark. And without rewetting, around 14 hours, they start to get to the same level of discomfort of about the dailies at 6 hours.
Probably too late to comment. But I have started using contacts recently and I find your channel very informative. Thank you👏. Would you suggest me few rewetting eye drops in India.
Hello I can’t wear daily lens because of astigmatism. So wear Biofinity XR toric or Bauch Lomb astigmatism lens. Be nice if company came out with daily lens for astigmatism. Great review 👍👌
I've just started wearing contacts, and I also have astigmatism. I've tried several brands of toric dailies so far - ask your doctor, they are definitely available! Good luck, HTH -
Saline solution, is it safe compared to eye drops, I've used saline solution for years and it hasn't hurt my eyes at all, is there anything I don't know about saline solution that you would have to warn me from using it.
The BLINK products for some reason gives me dry lens and deposits. I figure it's from tear film stability. Not right away but after using it a few times. Hydra sense night gel was recommended for dry eyes and as a rewetting drop.Optifree free puremoist rewetting drops is also a great rewetter.
Just want to make sure I understand. I can put drops in my eyes while wearing the my contacts??? I will look for the Opti Free rewetting drops. Thanks : )
bluegreen13 just make sure it says for contacts and also for the type of contact you have. Because like he said some are only for soft contacts and you can’t use those if you have hard contacts etc. Also different eye drops have different instructions so just make sure to read them and follow the directions. Also if your not to sure you can always ask your eye doctor.
Good afternoon, dear Doctor... thanks a lot for your channel. I've lacrimal hyposecretion probably for refractive surgery 25 years ago. Please, which type of toric lenses recommend me. I can buy bioinfinity, air Optix or purevision and as lubricants Systane, refresh liquigel, Genteal tears or gel. Thanks again. Blessings
I'd love a in depth video about RGP and why people get put on them. My doctor just finalized my fit and Rx for them. He said my Acuity 100 lenses are a yearly lense. How can I keep them as nominal and comfortable as I can for the year? Thank you very much. Love your content.
From what I understand the material of these lenses is very durable. Therefore they do not harbor or soak up things like soft lenses do. This in turn makes them last for many months. I used to wear RGP (hard lenses).
RGP lenses are great. They have several benefits over soft lenses but they are not as popular as they once were because soft lenses are easier to get used to. Basically soft lenses are more comfortable...early on at least. Thanks for the great video idea!
I have karateconus and I've got gas permeable lenses. I have conjunctivitis can I use prescribed eye drops with my lenses in? I'm really screwed without my lenses.
Loved this video Dr. Allen . . I've an important question, Please let me know if the eye drops ( Systane Ultra / Systane Gel drops ) are safe to be used with RGB hard contact lenses ? Thanks in advance 😊.
HI DOC!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I have acuvue 2 week lenses and I read online that you should take the new contacts out of the solution and soak them in the disinfecting solution for 6 hours before wearing for the first time. Is this correct? thank youuuuuuuuu
I use Blink n clean for both my hard and soft lenses.Boston lens rewetting drops for rgp's. And Puremoist rewetting drops when I can get it as it's not avail in Canada.
Why contact lens hurt if I use them continuously day by day but if I not use for 1 day or 2 day then it will start irritating whenever I try to use them
Is Blink ok for silicone hydrogel. Also, not sure I understand the difference between Blink (green) and Blink n'Clean (purple). Are they both for eye comfort AND contact lens lubrication and purple Blink n'Clean also cleans lens?
I use Dailies Total 1 and still feel a bit gritty late in the PM. Will the three re-wetting drops you mentioned be okay for me? Thanks..loved the content.
Eye drops like pataday and zaditor that I have tried you have to remove your contacts. I didn't realize they had rewetting drops. I wish I knew this when I started again on biweekly lenses.... I'm now back on daily because the biweekly wouldn't last. I think if I had tried rewetting drops it could have lasted a little longer. That and the proper cleaning I saw on his other video. My eye doctors always said you can use the regular Opti in your eyes without needing the rewetting one.
Have been diagnosed with dry eyes also having mites which has been a challenge to get rid of. I'm using Retaine complete - also eye lid solution with Hypochlorous acid - the mask for glands to function better. I've been using these for more than 1 year and has helped the dry eyes but I still feel itchy on the lids and eyebrows which I feel are the mites! What do you recommend to get rid of them once and for all! Drives me nuts! Thank you!

Great video I am a first time contact user and had dry irritating eyes. I tried your recommended Optifree and they work great. Thanks
What took me so long to find this channel. Amazing work! Keep it up.
Thank you! 👍💯
This is the video I was waiting for. I'm currently using the refresh for contacts, yes, they were I think 12 or 14 USD!
💯
@@DoctorEyeHealth Do you have to take your contacts out before putting the eye drops in your eye?
my tip for dry eyes is simple saline solution! no added chemicals, good for rewetting....
I am prescribed -12 bousch and lomb monthlies However I tried dailies in my old -11.50 and see much better.
Thank you so much for sharing and the excellent feedback! 💯❤❤ Canada is awesome. Glad you liked the blink! Which lens are you wearing now?
Doctor Eye Health I’m wearing the dailies aqua comfort. I find the drops make a big difference. I tried the blink with my former contacts (air optix) and they didn’t bother me as much.
Hey are you still using the blink eye drops to help your eyes? I’m dealing with dry eye symptoms even without contacts in so I’m unsure if they will also help me
Will consider to wear contacts though many have told me that might hurt my eyes and it's complicated to use.Been wearing glasses for past 5 yrs. and it does really irritating when it's fog.
Could you do a video on redness relief eye drops, giving alternatives and limitations, and talk about lumify as the new one on the market.
Same here
Thank you for the information! 😊😊😊
Thanks Dr for sharing so much information,i really needed all these videos and do enjoy how you explain everything, very good ! Much success for you!
Refresh repair has been good since recently starting to wear contacts (myopia)
However I think I may give the blink a try soon 🤔
Edit: Blink contacts formula is definitely really good on the eyes.. ! Great recommendation
My eye doctor recommended blink eye drops for dry eyes. Its so much better than the equate brand i was using
Again your videos are absolutely great Thank you you have helped me so much I'll be getting drops today.
I use to use drop for lenses called "Clearz with a z. Those worked well, especially for clearing up the eyes. They stopped making them, but I was able to find something similar...but not wearing contacts for 2 years I forget those now!
Hmmm never heard of it. I wonder why they discontinued it.
CV use to make Clearz and miraflow...long discontinued.
Daily lenses are a life saver for me! Tried all kinds of monthly ones and they get so uncomfortable after about a week no matter how well i clean them!
I’m on my trial pair of Acon Total 30 monthly lenses and they are super DRYYYY ! the opti free pure moist re wetting drops or the bio tru hydration boost drops has helped me tons and are preservative free ✨😗
hey are you still using those lenses and do the drops still help?
So it's not my in my head then.. Same issue with these contacts. My eyes were so dry from using them, I ended up popping a blood vessel when trying to remove them for the first time 😞
@@TheIntelligent1 do u have dry eyes even without contacts?
@@RevolverCallOfDuty Unfortunately, yes. As of now, the opti free rewetting drops are working. However, my optometristbdid say that if my eyes are not doing well with monthly contacts, I will have to switch to dailies.
Thank you for your videos. They are extremely informative and helpful.
On to my eye drop question... I’ve accidentally been buying the blue box of the blink tears eye drops which are the non contact version. Will it harm my contacts if I use their original lubricating drops?
I absolutely love this channel u helped me so damn much I just wanna thank you for helping me with my journey of contacts
That's so awesome, Keith. Thank you for sharing that.
Thank you so much for this awesome video. I'm just got my contacts and my eyes are always dry when I wear my contacts.

For the Blink Contacts drops, do I applied it in my eyes before putting on my contacts? Or with them on? Or can I use these drops whenever I’m not using contacts?
yes but actually no
I put the drops in before and after putting my lenses in and right before taking them out
@@kaylapatek8421When should I put in eye drops before or after wearing contact lenses? Pls reply
i am thinking about purchasing BLINK, as I have a 1 month soft lens and do i have to remove my contacts then put the drops on my contacts or can i put the drop straight into my eyes with the contacts on (like normal eye drops)?
thank you, your video is helpful .. i really like the blink for contacts.
Can you do a video on how to put in and take out contact for beginners?
That would probably be a great idea!
the best for me is from brand bepanthen that comes in 16 unidoses that you can bring in a poket to office or anywhere.
my first contact lenses Bausch&Lomb HD Purevision. It had a good vision far and near but dryed my eyes after 1h. So a had to add drops to moisture my eyes. After a month I ask for a new lenses to test. Then I discover biofinity multifocal and I stick to it until today. With this lenses I don't need drops to moisture my eyes anymore.
I am happy that I found your channel.
Me too! How can I help you?
@@DoctorEyeHealth I have many questions regarding the eyes. Let me put my thoughts together and I'll get back to you. Thank you very much.
Thank youuuuuuuuuu
Can you use them after you take them out?
Kristina Knight I had the same issue. Give Bausch and Lomb ultra lenses a try. They have been the only ones I found that work well.
I will look into those, thanks!
You rock! I love all your videos......such good information 👍
Thank You Jeanne! 😁💯
I want too try contacts again last time they hurt my eyes(so kinda scared). Maybe these tips will help! Thanks!
I wish you the best! Ever consider LASIK?
Doctor Eye Health I would rather just wear my glasses😂
Opti-Free Replenish rewetting drops seem to work well.
Probably too late to comment. But I have started using contacts recently and I find your channel very informative. Thank you👏.
Would you suggest me few rewetting eye drops in India.
Hello
I can’t wear daily lens because of astigmatism.
Thank you for mentioning the drops🙂
@@greattattoos 👍👍💯
Never use hard rgp lens drops as they work a bit differently. They will ruin soft lenses.
When should I put in eye drops before or after wearing contact lenses?
Allen .
.
I've an important question,
Please let me know if the eye drops ( Systane Ultra / Systane Gel drops ) are safe to be used with RGB hard contact lenses ?
Thanks in advance 😊.
Honestly, not sure as I can't find any info on its approval for rgp lenses. But systane does have systane contacts, which is approved for RGPs
Rocking as always. Excellent job!
Thanks Chillman!
When should I put in eye drops before or after wearing contact lenses?
great video, but i was wondering if it would be bad if i used the opti rewetting drops for my contact lens & i use biotrue contact lens solution
Are the new Refresh Digital PF safe to use with contacts? Love your videos btw! 😃
I use Blink n clean for both my hard and soft lenses.Boston lens rewetting drops for rgp's. And Puremoist rewetting drops when I can get it as it's not avail in Canada.
Why contact lens hurt if I use them continuously day by day but if I not use for 1 day or 2 day then it will start irritating whenever I try to use them
Can I use Systane ultra over contact lens?
Can we also use any lubricant eye drops while wearing contact lenses?
Can you use the blink rewetting eye drops with contacts in or only before insertion?
Is Blink ok for silicone hydrogel. Also, not sure I understand the difference between Blink (green) and Blink n'Clean (purple). Are they both for eye comfort AND contact lens lubrication and purple Blink n'Clean also cleans lens?
I use Dailies Total 1 and still feel a bit gritty late in the PM. Will the three re-wetting drops you mentioned be okay for me? Thanks..loved the content.
I find that if you close your eyes then use the nozzle of the bottle to go up and down on you eye lashes then its easier to put in drops.
Can I use eye drops when I have my contacts in.or do I have to take them out
Michael Sharp that’s what I need to know
Yes. You have to buy the rewetting drops
I use the blink contacts eye drops. Literally cannot wear my lenses without them
Use rewetting drops safe for contacts you apply a drop of the solution with the contact in your eye. I like Opti-Free rewetting drops.
Thank you!
Dr. what is your opinion on getting tear plugs for dry eyes?
Help Dr. I have little bumps under my eye lids my eye Dr say is from many years of using contacts snd said that I can’t get rid of them but they bother me allot I tried eye drops but they aren’t helping please what can I do to get rid of those bumps? Help me !!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for your help and time!!! ❤️❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹
Do you put the blink I drop with the contacts in or without it and then put it again
are those gel eye drops bad for contacts? doc gave me this systane ultra hydration drops but theres a gel version too.
are the Refresh Digital PF drops okay to use with contacts?
Could you please make a videos of actually putting in contact lenses, as well as the cleaning and storing prices?
I’ve tried multiple brands on contacts, solutions and resetting drops, but my eyes get dry and vision blurry.
Idk if I am making a mistake in the cleaning process or not.
All great ideas. Hopefully I can make something about that soon.
What’s the difference between the opti-free rewetting drops and the “replenish” rewetting drops?
Can we use eye drops like Tearmax while wearing scleral lens?
Thanks for the info. Doc!👍🏾
