I was actually going 100% trying to escalate things, but Jeff just didn't notice.
Lol I thought it was the other way around 😂
Question do you have a Taekwondo back ground?
😂😂😂😂😂❤
I think he could sense danger and didn’t want to risk it 😂
You have some slick moves that came out of that exchange! I loved the jump kick!
I'm just enjoying this whole ride with both of you. Both @hard2hurt and you teach me so much with these videos, and it's even more fun when I see that the people who teach me so much as martial artists are also good men of great character. Thanks for absolutely everything, gentlemen.
thanks :)
Great content as always. Let me be one of many to say that you, Mike, sensei Seth, Dewey Ramsey, and Rokas have represented the martial arts community with the upmost respect. This is the content people want to continue to see. Keep up the great work guys.
Two of the top guys on youtube, skilled, respectful, fantastic.
:)
10:03 That was probably the coolest sweep I've ever seen
Agreed, not to mention it was done to a Pro MMA Fighter.
cheers!
I've been following both of you for a while. And this was awesome! Thanks for the content
no prob!
I didn't know how good Icy Mike's skills were!!
hes good man!
Ooh and that lean back switch kick worked several times on Jeff 👏
cheers!
This is the kind of sparring you won’t get brain damage.
Nice!!!!!!
cheers!
Woe that Bruce Lee move....wtf love it
hahaha
Uh!? He is actually THIS good!? Wow! Respect, guys!
cheers!
the colab i never knew i needed
:)
thank you!
no prob!
Cartwheel kick seems like it should never work but it does for some reason
Saenchai lands it all the time!
3:20 was that a karate chop or a hammer fist???
haha im not sure!
For folks who missed the video ruclips.net/video/OqZfcvGiS_g/видео.html
I like seeing Jeff get beat up and I would just love to see Mike beat someone up someday
cheers!
First time seeing some serious sparring from Mike, he's much better than I thought 🔥
You can see his old street beefs fights too if you wanna see a slightly younger him throw down
osss
Shit mike is the truth I’ve done my research
Humans will never learn to not underestimate other humans...
There's a 10 minute sparring round on his RUclips Chanel, pretty good stuff in that video too
I feel like Mike is a very humble and conscious sparring partner. When he gets caught, he seems like he's happy to be enlightened and is absorbing and adapting all the info, rather than getting frustrated and turning up the heat.
Like a true martial artist
100%!
Mike shows you can be cocky and confident as well as open minded and humble. It's up to you to pick which one to use given different situations. Sparring with a pro fighter is a great opportunity to learn if you dont let your ego get in the way and he shows that here.
@DatingMatis156 that's what happens when u turn sparring into an ego free game. You play with new techniques and strategies. Thats the most fun you can have with partners u trust.
@@DatingMatis156 which is a good thing because he is not a beginner.. kind of like the drunken master form: the guy is not really drunk 😉
I think you gave Mike a sparring game where he can really show what he is made of.
cheers!
Another collaboration that'll be great is u and gabriel varga or fighttips
one day!
@@MMAShredded Man I love these collabs!!! Like the Avengers of Martial Arts 🥋🥊 😂
Wanna see you mma spar Gabriel Varga
@@MMAShredded Gabriel Varga for sure
Yeah pls
Finally, this collab happened. Very nice, light and controlled sparring. Was pleasure watching it. Keep it up!
:)
I wasn't expecting Mike to bring out all those fancy kicks, that was awesome
That's what you get when you hang out with Seth a lot I guess
:)
@@maesaarifin8401 I've never seen Seth do a jump kick or cartwheel in sparring
Yeah right? I wonder if he has taken some Capoeira classes.
@@renatomotta2252 That cartwheel kick is from Thai boxing
Mike is that loud, abrasive friend who always has something to say, but you listen because it's usually worthwhile. He's a personality but he isn't obnoxious or fake, he seems genuinely passionate about combat. Such a cool dude. Love this collab
he is an awesome person!
Icy Mike is so impressive, and waaaaay more impressive when you take into consideration his age.
Amazing sparring as usual guys :)
:)
Actually I think he did well because of his age and experience at this pace. I am 48 and in class, the younger guys can barely touch me because I have 44 years experience on them and still fit. If we had to go at a higher pace, chances are my many old injuries plus other old guy stuff will most likely slow me down.
this sparring session looks almost choreographed while it's most certainly not. It's eyegasm for any martial arts geek out there... Very appreciated and looking for more. Also there are tons of boxing tips in this sparring if one knows where to look. Awesome. Thank You. Jeff You are great, but Mike will be my hero to the end of days.
thanks for watching!
I felt the same. It was so visually satisfying. 🔥
like the way icy mike escapes jeff's leg catched with a spin is straight out of a kung fu movie lmao
Well it’s easier to be sharp with shit if you’re not pushing a realistic pace.
It's been a real treat to watch all the martial arts RUclipsrs collaborating.
And great to see some sparring outside of a moving bus.
:)
4:33 "He could have ended us rightly." For someone who thinks HEMA is unnecessary and stupid, Icy Mike sure knows some HEMA terms.
Nah you're taking his words out of context. HEMA is great for home defense, if you're defending against other people with swords. 😄
hey, I've been teaching HEMA for over a decade and knowing that it's unnecessary and stupid just means Icy Mike gets it :)
@@urbanarmory You trying to justify a middle ground on a platform called the interwebs that lacks the ability to reinforce a middle ground setting, pft Stoooop. You know people are going to project the "objective," it's a waste of time to even discuss this. Let it fester, that's its nature.

The respect shown during these sparring sessions is beautiful 🙏
:)
Wow you showed off Mike at his absolute best. He's so fucking good. I didn't know he was that sharp, because he usually spars with like 6 foot guys that only need to do basic shit to shut him down. But you two smaller guys really showed some advanced, fast paced stuff. I really loved this.
This was just fun to watch! Both of you are awesome with sparring etiquette.
:)
Absolutely loved watching this sparring session. I really wish more people could spar like this. Looked like so much fun. Definitely want to see you spar all the martial arts RUclipsrs
:)
I’ve watched the episode in the BUS street fight 😂😂 you guys are craaazy
:P
I hope you got to spar the other guys while you were there, so excited about this whole meetup!
x2
yep I got videos with them each coming out!
This was the Sparring I was waiting for!! Good stuff! 🤜💥🤛
thx brother!
Watching my two favorite practitioners together is incredible. Mike is truly inspirational and it has been fantastic to watch how much skills he has gained over the years. Just like you, he's always a "student" regardless of the knowledge he already has. Thanks!
Hey... I actually like Master Wong too. He's quirky, but there are actual real skills there. :-)
:)
Bro foreal this is like the most mind games kind of sparring ive ever seen you have.
Like yall just pumping out feints after feints, set ups into a set up into a counter, wacky stuff that actually serves a purpose.
Its also the time i like feel that icy mike is really serious in this techniques, mind games and set ups.
:)
really cool to see a collab with all the MMA/self defense youtubers we've been watching over the years!
thanks!!
Great that you didn’t leverage your superior strength/speed and instead kept it at a level where both of you could have a very productive sparring session. I learned a lot that way and I’m sure both of you did too
cheers!!
Ive been training for 15 years and I'm 30 years old. i just believe it's beautiful that we've been able to see this young man through his journey over the years. For me, the technique and mindset started to settle in after about 8 years but everyday is still a learning experience. Also, it takes years of drilling, sparring, and fighting for it to happen. Long story short, thank you Jeff Chan. Would love to train with you some day.
thx jay id love to train as well!
One of the best sparring vid I've ever seen. There are alot of high level skills here. This inspires me get back to my training
I said the same thing. They were both very respectful but still getting good practice. Best kind of spar.
:)
Icy Mike said "ended us rightly" 😂 Guess he's thrown his fair share of pommels
haha!
Mike is secretly a hema nerd.
I binge a lot of Jeff's sparring videos, and I can tell he is slowing it down for this video. Watching Jeff's content is a godsend and an inspiration for me to get better in martial arts.
thanks for watching bro!!
As a fellow old dude that thought he was flexible, DAMN that high kick was efforless from H2H!! hahaha If you ever make it to Houston Jeff, I'd love to spar!
would love to!!
I've been waiting for this forever!
:)
This was great. Mike's first cartwheel kick really surprised me! Can't wait to see you soar each of the guys. The self defense tournament on Rokas channel has been a joy to watch
:)
That bit in the middle with Seth and Mike was hilarious... Loved this video!
haha cheers!
3:27 yo did Mike just apply the roundhouse kick Gabriel Varga taught him not too long ago??
he did!
Jeff please do a Khamzat Chimaev signature moves video🙏🏼
ill try!
This guy is shredded at MMA, however, his opponent was pretty hard to hurt so it was even
touche!
"Yeah he sucks at sparring... but MAN can he shake a hand!"
Totally kidding here, I'm a huge fan of both you guys 😂
It was great to finally see you together, let alone sharing a sparring session!
:)
Things woulda been different if Mike had his usual utility belt and batarangs. Oh and grappling hook lol.
Jeff is a great Sparring Partner! Highly skilled
thank you Attila! you outclassed me when we sparred though !
This is one of the best sparring sessions I’ve seen in a while. 2 classy cats. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
My boy Icy was looking sharp af. Guess you gotta bring your “A” game when you spar Jeff.
Good job gentlemen.
:))
5:15 I see Mike, Icy Mike. That was GOLD
:)
0:54 looked like IcyMike was using the roundhouse pushback that Gabriel Varga taught him. Nice!
yeah!
Jeff, met Icy Mike last year and definitely enjoyed this collaboration ... .this level of sparring, I suspect, is what most of both your subscriber bases can replicate daily, especially if they don't train at pro gyms... And it's two nice guys sparring....what could go wrong??? 😄
:)
I love seeing all of you guys come together. It's really really cool with all of the different styles, ages and body types.
more to come!!
I'm going to ask wonderboy if he would do a Collab with you. I'll see him Tuesday
man please do!!!! id love the opportunity
@@MMAShredded I will. Id love to see y'all spar a couple rounds. He's a really good dude to
I don't think I fully realized how much dexterity Mike had until I saw this.
haha ya!
I really respect how all this youtube coach actually willingly get into a sparing. Without fearing their pride hurt. Unlike those kungfu master only do demo.
cheers!
Caught kick to reverse Cartwheel to low single leg.
Flowing like that you'd think that he would just be called Water Mike.
This is funny af lol. Good job.
hahaha cheers!
You guys are my favorite martial arts RUclipsrs man🙏🏻 seeing you guys spar is insane
I would watch you guys just chat and hang out 😂 I hope you guys get to collab more!
:))
Awesome!!! This was fun to watch and such good technical movements, combos and set ups from both sides!!! 🔥🔥🔥
:)) thanks Sifu Nate!
Really like the editing style chosen on this stuff, Jeff. The highlights and breakdowns are awesome. Started watching due to Mike advising that you were really specific and honest in how you went over the materials on your channel, and that was awesome to see in practice. Great sparring session. Some real interesting tricks being pulled off here. Also, gym owners take note of the fact that you don't have to pay for a full MMA cage to train your folks in some of that experience of being in the cage. Nice workaround there! Hole-in-the-wall gyms take note! (Big ones, too, for that matter! lol)
thanks man!!
@@MMAShredded Absolutely, sir. Good luck out there!
A lot of people really sleeps on Icy Mike's agility. He's too agile for his age. Imagine what he's like in his prime
Love to see it! You guys flowing really well. Always wanted to see this collab and glad to hear Icy Mike and Sensei Seth talk great about you. Good to know that they enjoyed your sparring and felt you were very controlled.
thx mann!!
Is that hip sweep legal in muay thai or just MMA?
legal in Muay Thai, I got it from watching buakaw!
@@MMAShredded Can you do a tutorial on that hip sweep? I've always tried to use it but have never been able to pull it off in sparring
Jeff, I really want to see u sparing with Llerdsila. pls if u have chance .Bow 🙇♂️
I wonder if mikes done some conscious work on his mobility
id say he has for sure, i know he does personal training also, or, at least used to. so im sure he probably does a whole bunch of mobility crap.
I think so!
This is the content we need. I hope you got plenty more of sparring with those guys and behind the scenes conversations
more coming!!
:)
That was a great session....he has skills for sure.....looks like he was giving you a good run...😄
oss!
Bro…I must be in the matrix…my two fav RUclipsrs!!!!! Noooiiiiiiiccceeee!!!! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
:))
Awesome. Maybe they should work the door together one day ? Icy Mike is The Best at light contact sparring I ever saw. He must have really high levels of intelligence. I thought Jeff Chan would easily beat up Icy Mike but Mr. Hard To Hurt has held his own really well and surprised Jeff Chan with a few tricks ! Jeff Chan finnished first in the tournament. But it appears that Icy Mike just decided that was a good reason to hangout together ! I think Icy Mike was last in the tournament but he is a pretty old guy now. He must be around 50 years old now.
Erm. No hang around . Not han out. Please pardon my use of Idioms and difficult English phrases.
Actually Hang Out might mean "Hang Out To Dry" (abandon).
ruclips.net/video/DmqfNeRit18/видео.htmlsi=7bluB5a7GluCgDqK
I remember Mike claimed to be a former Police Officer. However now Jeff Chan has adopted that as his back story .
If I was sparring Jeff, his narration would be something like, so I jabbed Sam and hit him in the face. Hit him in the face again. So, then I tried a slow simple front kick and knocked him on his back. Wasn't expecting that. Okay, he's looking a little green. He's vomiting now, but he kindly found a trash can. So glad he didn't barf on the mat.
hahaha
It’s like watching art in motion seeing you guys spar! Wow this was amazing
This was beautiful to watch. Great flow of technique from both of you
thank you!!
This is such a gem. After watching both channels for so long I really had to rewatch this a few times because I'd see the techniques come out that both of them have explained before and catching both sides of it was not easy lol. Great stuff
:)
so much fun to watch and i loved the explanations -so helpfull
:)
Haven’t watched the video yet, but he is not just any bozo at Scarface’s garden, HE BEATED UP A NINJA! He should be called a ninja killer or something.
haha
Two years ago I asked when you'd do a collaboration with Icy Mike and now it finally happened. As always, great session and insightful commentary.
Thanks man!
Best part about Mike is his massive amount of cool moves that he can just throw in there. All well practiced and with room for escapes incase they fail. Super impressive to see how he goes from boxing to kickboxing to just throwing in a cartwheel kick or a teep to the face that is almost invisible as you are focusing on his hands and lower body kicks. Dude is seriously a ninja!
This looked like that classic fighting game match where Jeff Chan a top tier player who has optimized his playstyle and Icey Mike that low-mid tier with the tricky stuff that ends up putting up a great fight.
Lol that's perfect. Like those guys that played mvc2 with zangief
cheers!
Icy Mike lookin’ smooth there.
yeahhh
You 3 are such great contributors to the martial arts. It was truly a pleasure watching etiquette on the mat and watching signature moves. Salutations gentlemen. Thanks for the vid.
Boxing background, and I like your 2-1-2 initial move. I would do much the same depending on range. I would suggest thinking about the solar plexus as your target vice the chin, especially if you throw the first punch, and putting as much sauce as you can on that first right hand. 3 reasons: less likely do damage your hand, potentially better legally since there is less of a chance of “great bodily harm” vice braking his jaw, and if it connects, fights over even if he is way bigger.
Chuck Norris vs Bruce Lee vibes🫶 I walk into a bar and seek Jeff and Mike I walk out!😅
Very interesting collab Jeff! If you ever happen to cross ways with Gabriel Varga I would LOVE to see a long sparring video. Not to see who is better or that kind of bs, but because I am curious how your fighting styles would play out (you are very evasive, while he is using a tight dutch guard). In addition it would be really interesting to see you guys having an exchange on techniques/fighting styles, tactics, training in general etc
I love his and your channel as they motivated me to keep training because I could improve from your content when I stagnated in my gym. I really wish there was content like this 15 years ago when I started out, because back then the only source for info/lessons was mostly your trainer, learning by doing or seminars here and there.
im trying to make it happen :)
Haha. Awesome. First time I've seen Jeff Chan lower his intensity for the session. Probably just worried Mike would turn it up 100% for the first time ever which the world is simply not prepared wo witness.
Is icy Mike really that good? I felt like lb for lb he could have kicked your ass. You got lucky Jeff. I know he's tiny, and an ex cop, and bald, but I'm impressed!
This is how intelligent people spar. You can spar longer and more frequently and it’s an environment that allows you to take more risks and evolve because you aren’t paying heavy taxes for every misstep. Good video.
to the point where free youtube collabs kick the ass of 95 percent of hollywood choreographed action movie fight scenes
great skills you two, and best of all its REAL martial arts. Great stuff!!
thanks man!!
Wow and you guys were doing this while filming the Self Defense Championship!
I love it when my worlds collide like this :D Keep it up! Love watching this type of breakdown
Mike is ruff but real.
I'm fine with that.
And he got a lot of dirty Tricks up his sleeve, never to underrate.
I don't know the age of Mr. But he has a lot of agility and experience when you sparr with someone like him, he is excellent, you learn practices and have fun 🥊👊
Guys I want to do some form of martial arts but I was doing karate for 4 years but the club became full of kids so I left ( I started to not like it as I was before) I tried kickboxing but again full of kids I went to boxing AGAIN full of kids I m 15 I also went to judo and yoseikan budo AGAIN kids I have an mma class tomorrow I hope it s not kids other than that I m out
Show of excellent coaching skill from both. Even free sparring with a skilled player they are both letting the other get their training in while seamlessly working on their own tricks and entries. Together their sparring is a pleasure to behold.
I love all the content this collab is creating. Brilliant idea
:)
Crazy collab! looking forward to see you guys collab with Gabriel Varga!
trying to make it happen!
