This is such a gem. After watching both channels for so long I really had to rewatch this a few times because I'd see the techniques come out that both of them have explained before and catching both sides of it was not easy lol. Great stuff

Two years ago I asked when you'd do a collaboration with Icy Mike and now it finally happened. As always, great session and insightful commentary.

Best part about Mike is his massive amount of cool moves that he can just throw in there. All well practiced and with room for escapes incase they fail. Super impressive to see how he goes from boxing to kickboxing to just throwing in a cartwheel kick or a teep to the face that is almost invisible as you are focusing on his hands and lower body kicks. Dude is seriously a ninja!

This looked like that classic fighting game match where Jeff Chan a top tier player who has optimized his playstyle and Icey Mike that low-mid tier with the tricky stuff that ends up putting up a great fight.

Boxing background, and I like your 2-1-2 initial move. I would do much the same depending on range. I would suggest thinking about the solar plexus as your target vice the chin, especially if you throw the first punch, and putting as much sauce as you can on that first right hand. 3 reasons: less likely do damage your hand, potentially better legally since there is less of a chance of “great bodily harm” vice braking his jaw, and if it connects, fights over even if he is way bigger.

Very interesting collab Jeff! If you ever happen to cross ways with Gabriel Varga I would LOVE to see a long sparring video. Not to see who is better or that kind of bs, but because I am curious how your fighting styles would play out (you are very evasive, while he is using a tight dutch guard). In addition it would be really interesting to see you guys having an exchange on techniques/fighting styles, tactics, training in general etc
I love his and your channel as they motivated me to keep training because I could improve from your content when I stagnated in my gym. I really wish there was content like this 15 years ago when I started out, because back then the only source for info/lessons was mostly your trainer, learning by doing or seminars here and there.

Haha. Awesome. First time I've seen Jeff Chan lower his intensity for the session. Probably just worried Mike would turn it up 100% for the first time ever which the world is simply not prepared wo witness.

This is how intelligent people spar. You can spar longer and more frequently and it’s an environment that allows you to take more risks and evolve because you aren’t paying heavy taxes for every misstep. Good video.

Show of excellent coaching skill from both. Even free sparring with a skilled player they are both letting the other get their training in while seamlessly working on their own tricks and entries. Together their sparring is a pleasure to behold.
