      In Homeworlds revelations the Kadeshi are revealed to have survived. They had other ships hidden in the nebula and when Hiigara was reclaimed some rejoined the Kushan while others stayed in the Garden

      @@JascosaurusReally that’s great. I always thought it strange how such a fearful people would throw away all of their lives. Surely they would have hidden populations especially considering the massive nebula they inhabit.

      actually you dont whipe them out at all: the fighters of the somtaw fleet from homeworld cataclysm share some striking resemblance to the ships of the kadeshi.

    Its even more sad that they are retreating to the Khar-toba wreckage as a last resort to save whats most precious to them(and what brought them there).
    For all their threats and seemingly alien way of behaving as a facade they are just frightened animals wanting to survive desperately scarred by a horrible past of near extinction.
    Rest in peace Kadeshi siblings.

      @@Irobert1115HD That doesn't at all imply the Kadeshi survived. The Kushan regularly made ships, to the point of it being a memeish thing, inspired by the enemies they encountered. Even if that wasn't the case, it would only change the point at which the lore was retconned, not *if*.

    This fight is a joke compared to the original, much more RU, the needle carriers no longer ram your large ships, swarmers melt to interceptors.

    Only bad part of Homeworld...
    Scaling enemy numbers.
    Work hard, play smart, increase your numbers, crush your enemies with no losses?
    Your only reward is the enemy now has more ships next mission.

    Why didn't you build mass Defenders? They are the best for these nebula missions.

    • @rossvolkmann1161
      @rossvolkmann1161 2 года назад +12

      IIRC Defenders were really good in HW1 but the Remastered engine changed that. HW1 used physics based hit detection, so small units like scouts and defenders that could bounce around on evasive orders were *really* hard to hit. Remastered is based on HW2's engine which is uses RNG hit detection. The RNG-based detection made for easier netcode, and prevented some of the desync and lag issues the original HW1 had online. But a consequence of this is that some ships which were really good due to their physics got nerfed hard. Defenders and scouts became a lot less survivable, and conversely assault frigates became much more reliable.

    • @spectre9065
      @spectre9065 2 года назад +2

      @@rossvolkmann1161 Nah they are the best anti-fighters in Remastered latest version.
      As for HW1, Defenders were amazing in v1.00 when they had 30 DPS. A later patch nerfed their DPS to 5 making them outclassed by corvettes. No reason to build them over multiguns in HW1.

      @@rossvolkmann1161 In the meantime this has been fixed tho. Defenders are very useful in this mission. You can also see how the beams from the capital ships actually follow their targets, clearly there is some simulation happening here. Can't say much about the ramming mechanic tho, I believe that is still missing for some reason I don't understand.

      no it isnt. not if you have a decent sized fleet. as the difficulty scales up, and gives the enemy more stuff to use. and there are three motherships with ionbeams. they can tear frigates apart easily, though the mission becomes alot easier once you pump out a few drone frigates and replace all your heavy corvettes with multigun corvettes
