Night Springs allows you to play as several fan-favorite characters through three highly stylized episodes, each offering a unique slice of the Alan Wake universe. While similar to previously known characters, they are different-Night Springs versions of themselves.

I love the idea that Sam Lake just though once "All right, let's see just how quirky and post-modernist we can go" and then cranked it to 11.
To be fair, that's been his modus operandi since the first Alan Wake, and it's exactly what makes the Remedy games so great.

Alan is the one writing all of these "Night Springs" episodes, which goes to show how truly desperate he was to escape the Dark Place after so many years trapped in there, lol.
Never really thought about it until now but this is probably the reason why Rose end up being a caretaker in that dank mansion to protect her beloved Writer.

In the main game, Mr. Door says, "Night Springs was a nice distraction," so Alan wrote these episodes while he was in the dark place to escape? It's Remedy, so it's almost impossible to say for sure, I suppose... The writing and acting of this episode were hilarious; I loved it. It'll only get crazier...

In most of America, you don't need a license to own firearms (Illinois, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Hawaii being exceptions). The only time you need a license is for concealed carry. Most states only require a background check, while some require that plus a safety test. Although, that's only for commercial sales not private sales.

You do not need a license in the US. Just pass background check which means not being a criminal or drug addict or psych danger.

Worse, it's Alan's desperate (and failed) attempt to write a "hero" character in order to help him escape the Dark Place (which he eventually managed to do with the help of Saga during the main game).
Alan is basically writing what he thinks Rose's fanfic would be, which is why this fictional version of Rose is even more obsessed with him than the real one is.
