Tbf GSP was 100% correct about Hendricks. Once USADA kicked in, Johny’s physique melted overnight along with his ability to make weight or even stay competitive with ranked fighters.

Isn't it fitting that GSP's only fight at 185lbs was on the same card that Hendricks fought Costa, and looked like a soggy old man? One man was on a career low-light out of the company, and one looked very good, and had a career highlight on his way out of the company? Seemed like Karma to me.
its just so convenient that gsp ran away from the sport before usada and only fought once under usada in a fight against one eye bisping and didnt look as dominant as he was during his title reign..

It wasn’t that DJ wanted an easier fight. DJ said on his stream that he said he would fight TJ for a million dollars. In fact, he and Cody had been in talks about fighting each other after Cody defended against TJ. At the time, Cody was still undefeated and a much bigger name.

DJ didn't start making a +200k purse until like his EIGHT or NINTH defense which is mad disrespectful. cant blame him for asking for $1M… which isn’t demanding too much for what he accomplished at that point.

Askren got a title contender fight with Lawler to see where he is, B-league champs can't get direct title shots in the A-league, Askren almost lost that Lawler fight and it was a very early stoppage that Askren won even ref realize he made a mistake.

Yup, they gave title shot to Dan Henderson who was no.13 ranked at that moment so Bisping could defend his title, Dana still wanted Bisping as champion.
Even late replacement Khabib's title shot opponent Iaquinta was no.11 ranked and then he was no.9 ranked right after then Iaquinta beat no.5 ranked Kevin Lee.
The problem I have with the Anderson/Wideman entry is that if Anderson was so aware of the Risk vs Reward ratio being so high, why would he choose to fight the way he did? Showboating with so much on the line, ballsy but it didn’t pay off.

In hindsight yes, but DJ's last loss at that point was against Dom Cruz, and he had 0 interest in risking everything he had accomplished at that point just to do ufc a solid.
No idea why Dana didn't want to do the fight at 135 for TJ's belt. Most likely he wanted to stifle DJ as much as possible.
DJ would have cut through TJ like butter and Dana did him dirty and built a stupid narrative that DJ was asking for too much etc etc etc the situation is eerily similar to the current Francis situation but whatever. It sucks that only now is he getting the respect he deserved years ago.

I get Bisping’s case.. He beat Anderson Silva fresh from the Weidman loss, took the belt from his #1 hater in Luke Rockhold, defended it against Henderson his old rival that knocked him out cold, then got a chance to possibly top it of with GSP. That would’ve been a mad record if he won the last one..
Bisping fought Silva in 2016, he broke his leg in 2013, fought Diaz 2015, if I’m not mistaking

Henry Cejudo proved that that DJ-TJ fight was a farce. DJ quite rightly asked for Tj to fight at LEAST ONE fight at Flyweight FIRST because he knew that the cut was difficult even for HIM. He basically tried to spare TJ from getting fucked up for no reason. Infact I think DJ’s team had even suggested that the fight take place at 135 instead for the Bantamweight Title and the UFC denied them. So it wasnt this grand gesture from DJ either lol. Can you imagine, if Dj vs Tj took place at Flyweight in the state that TJ was in?

Anyone who seen the chael jones fight saw chael dominating jones on the feet. Jones was so surprised he kept going for takedowns because chael was outstriking him.
I used to use chael sonnon in ufc 3 and 4 fighting online. His long reach around attacks really throw people off. Just ask jon.

Yep, that was supposed to be Woodley returning to unify the belts with Colby, but Colby decided to get nasal surgery done instead.
Just like Woodley/Usman was meant to be another title shot for Colby, but again he wasn't available so Dana gave the spot to Usman instead

Nicco Montano vs Valentina Shevchenko is the biggest fight dodge ever. Nicco was terrified to fight Valentina; they were supposed to fight at UFC 228 and at that time Nicco was the flyweight inargural champ. Valentina knew Nicco was going to duck her at all cost. Nicco missed weight was stripped of the title and eased from UFC history.
Bisping actually had a bout agreement with Whitaker though, Rob got injured thats when he went down the GSP route Bisping was never injured it was Rob.
